Guys, this makes me so incredibly sad. A friend and I were supposed to go to this. Tickets were available. But a glitch came up and by the time we went to buy them, they were sold out. Damn those Backstreet Boys fans! I had to drive into Ohio this evening (Marietta) and was about an hour or so from Columbus. Let me tell you, there was a part of me that wanted to just keep on driving and somehow figure out a way in.
I would have loved to see Blake and 1R. But BSB, ughh.

Yeah, it’s sold out! Blake and 1R would have been a real treat for sure! I agree with you about the BSB though.
I don’t think we will actually hear Blake perform because we didn’t with the one in Seattle but at least you get to hear the interviews. They are gradually adding pics to the website of the event. There were 20 up the last time I looked.
I’m missing something. What about BSB? Blake and BSB in the same room sounds wonderful to me. Lucky(!) To whomever gets to see them both (IMO)!!

Long time…no chat. Though I’ve been reading every delicious moment with the same anticipation, excitement, love for the CD, and unnecesary worry about the numbers as the rest of you! Just couldn’t resist, so I booked a room and a ticket to the Memphis/Tunica/Sam’s Town gig Friday night (12/14). By myself–I might add! What has this guy done to me? And to us?
I’ll see if I can fill you in on the details once I drive back to Mud Island on Saturday. I’m concerned because the friendly radio station for spins (sponsor Q107.5) has billed B…as an MC? So we’ll see. I sure hope he gets a chance to perform–if not headline! I’ve never heard of the other local artists, so I’ll be disappointed since I’m attending just for Blake! (But, to be fair, I’m a 40-something and…)

Hi Lisa! I’ll be there, too. I did the same thing…bought 2 tickets and just left it up in the air that I could get someone to go with me. But my cousin is going!
I’m a little concerned, too. I have yet to see anything about Blake being at Sam’s Town on anything other than the radio station site and ticketmaster. I keep hoping that maybe he’ll do some stuff in between each band and then maybe close out the show. And I like a couple of the other bands but mainly I’ll be there for Blake! (and I’m 30 something….)

That’s interesting. Friday morning is when B is supposed to do his radio promo for Z100 in NYC. I don’t see anything about this on his calendar or Kevin’s (Sawka’s) calendar. Of course, it could be a last minute thing though. I hope that since you are going that B will be a performing and not just an MC because that doesn’t make sense since you are going to see the show just him but oh well. lol
Edit: Why didn’t I think of this. It is possible he could do this. He could fly down there after his finishes the Z100 promo and he does have flight capabilities. Hee!

This is why I’ve been worried. But he is supposed to be there. I figure it will just be him and he’ll fly in…although I wish it would be the whole band! But I’ll take what I can get. ha ha Hopefully Memphis will be on his tour schedule next year.
Was the band with him in Ohio, or even KJ? Couldn’t tell by the pictures, though it didn’t look like it.

I actually don’t think he is performing in Memphis, which is probably why it isn’t on Kevin’s My Space. The calendar on Blake’s My Space or his official page isn’t very accurate because the radio shows aren’t listed on any either — his name is on the 107.5 website however. He got on a plane right after Regis & Kelly to make another appearance so I’m pretty sure that’s what he’s doing Friday.
Well, as long as he’s there, I’ll be happy!
I don’t know what I was thinking Lori. lol I forgot about the Minneapolis show last Friday after the Regis & Kelly appearance. I’m glad he’ll be there though.
If this show had been in Cleveland, I would have SO been there.
Side note: HMW is now the top song on Blake’s MS. Could this mean they will be releasing it as a single after New Year’s? I hope so. I really feel it has the potential to be a hit. Even people who like nothing else on the CD seem to like HMW.
You guys, i was just thinking…in the vid interview above today, he said after Memphis he is going to Kentucky. Is this a destination spot, or a pass thru? Feeling the question marks over my head, you-all…uneasy trepidation, that I might have missed out on something.

From that article, is this even true? I thought Justin Guarini and Diana DeGarmo sold less their first weeks than Blake did, and it’s not like Katharine sold much more than B did last year. I don’t really appreciate faulty journalism like this if these facts are NOT correct.
I don’t even see how it makes sense to compare sales from several years ago to now either, with the advent of iTunes and lots of illegal downloading software.
And, sales are down 23% from the same week last year. That would have meant about about 121k.
Hey Lori, I’m so glad to read that you and your cousin will be at Sam’s Town too. We’ll have to compare notes and thoughts on the event with the gang.
Now they’re dubbing Blake the “celebrity guest host.” So I’m guessing that Lisa and others were right, and B’s not performing. But at least we’ll get to see him! Kennedy (from the Karson with a “K” and Kennedy morning show) said she’s trying to hook up a tattoo artist to give the shibby one, another guest band member, and her a new piece of ink in her “champagne suite.” It’s obviously funny banter, but somewhat cute.

Nic - not true, you are correct about Justin and Diana selling less, and in years that were MUCH better for Idol albums and selling albums in general. Ugh, lazy journalists just going for the spin…
VH1/MTV had a weird one too, saying Blake (and Jordin) *just* managed #10 and then going on to talk about how the top ten was dominated by huge albums. It’s like, is top ten suck or awesome? Pick!!!
