Sorry for all caps earlier. Has anyone went and looked at J records home page? If you do you will see alot about blake on it. They also have break anotha 2nd on their player Alicia Keys is first. I know it eases my mind alot with what was discussed on other thread today.

Don’t worry about it. It’s ok. Right now BA is taking a hit in spins and I think it’s because of Christmas music on the formats of the pop and HAC stations and as someone else brought up someplace else, there will be year end countdowns on some of these stations possibly today and until at least through New Year’s Day. I think by January 2nd will be when we really can start watching BA’s progress seriously again.

I have seen the J page too as well and there is a lot of Blake on that page! It’s kind of hard not to notice it. LOL It seems to me the best that can be done right now for Blake is being done going back to the situation of Christmas music on the formats. Within a week or so, I think we will see things improve. It will just take getting through today and all the countdown nonsense.

IMO, now it will really take a big jump or a major interest in Blake after Christmas to push the song to the Top 20.
It seems very distant, I guess we will just have to wait for another single to do better. Sigh.

well, to be fair, almost ALL the songs took a hit in spins this week if you look at the Mediabase charts. Some of the top charting songs lost hundreds of spins, probably due to Christmas music or maybe some new songs entering the charts.

For example, look what “Apologize” did:

I guess so, and I hope it’s for the better. But honestly it’s just been so frustrating with this single! It can’t break into the 30’s!
IMO maybe BA wasn’t the best song for his first single, but what do I know? I hope the NYE gig helps but it’s going to be an uphill battle.
I want him to succeed damn it! Jordin’s second single is already in the 60’s and catching up. Tattoo went up to #7.
No surprise Jordin’s album is outselling Blake, he needs a radio HIT ASAP! Come on Arista!

That is my thinking as well. BA took a big hit Christmas Eve and Christmas day and all the Christmas music spread out over all the formats didn’t help. I think by either January 3rd or even the 4th, we will get a better idea how things look. I think it was said in here already that most stations aren’t breaking their necks to add new songs to their formats now anyway. Some of them are right before doing their year end countdowns and that can hurt new songs too. I say just wait at least that long, and if there is no change for the better by then, then it will be time to consider what the next single will be. I don’t want to give up on it just yet.

It’s REALLY baffling me as to what is going on.

Not one HAC spin listed for today’s Mediabase stats! WTF? Is that normal, for that particular format of station to refuse to play singles for this long???

The last time BA got spins from a HAC station was on the 22nd, which was on Saturday.

I wonder why HAC stations won’t even play the song??? I’m already hearing Daughtry’s “Feels Like Tonight” on the HAC station here and it isn’t even officially released to radio until January 7th!

Was this intentional on the part of the label, to hold back on Blake’s single??? It’s either that or the radio stations refuse to play him yet will play Jordin to death, for God knows what reason.
