Isabel, thank you for your beautifully polite tone, and being the voice of sweet reason. I like everything you said, and I will admit to being impulsive and impatient at times as a general rule.;-)
Crystal J–I am RUNNING to try that link you unearthed for us! Yay!
Eileen–I really like what you said, about the talk show forum being soemthing that connects as a face to face forum–Absolutely. That’s one reason the boy needs to be able to talk too, as well as sing! Remind those people why they voted for him a bazillion times, right?
He has a very high likeability factor(duh)and that needs to be tapped when people have a chance to see him. But BA is the track that’s happening, sorry. HMW is the bonus for people that turn out.
I found my stations and submitted my requests. You have to put your e-mail address so I was wondering how often and how frequently one should submit requests. it might look rather funny if the same address keeps showing up.
The site linkage lets you vote without adding any personal info. Not known is whether they track IP via sitemeter or something, but yeah, you can vote at will!

I think the station only requires an e-mail when you write in the song if it’s not in their playlist. I just put the name of the song, my e-mail, and a zip code.
Well, the appearance on Ferguson for the 16th looks official now since it’s up on the homepage. Even though it says the 16th, for us here in the eastern time zone, it will be the 17th technically. lol Here is the guest list for that show.

Jon Cryer
James McAvoy Blake Lewis
Okay, I added some brief instructions for requesting through Mediabase to the Help Blake page. Thanks for passing along the link. Also, I’m sorry, but Sarah, pj, and I don’t have the time to keep a running list of every station that pops up on yes.com as having played BA. If some of you want to keep up with that and continue to request based on what you see there on your own, that’s fine.
I personally think it would be easier (and maybe even more effective, who knows where those Mediabase requests go?) to request the song through your local station’s own website. Most of them have a way to request songs directly through their website, just like the Mediabase site. You can find your local Top 40 station easily through this link.
Thanks for posting the link on the Help Blake tab. My experience from visiting many of the station sites is that they don’t have a playlist or a way to request songs other than email or phone. That is why I thought the idea of a list of stations that we could just click on and get their playlist request form was such a GREAT idea. Couldn’t we just post the links that CrystalJ has for the stations so far and just vote for those? I know I could really make use of the list to vote. I also think that the more people that are requesting the song the more it will get played.
Thanks for posting that link Star! I do think any voting at all will be a help. Like Nic, I’ve only entered email and zip when requesting a song not on their list. Otherwise, I pick the song(s) and hit submit. :o)
Like EOTW, I have scoured my local stations’ website and cannot find any online request forms. Yes, people need to check for those too!
Star - thanks for posting that link! I think it’s a great help.
Nic - I do like you, only listing zip and email if I’m requesting a song that the station doesn’t have on their playlist. Otherwise, I just select the song(s) and hit submit. But, that’s what works for me.
EOTW - Same here - I’ve scoured my local stations’ websites or online request forms, to no avail. So this mediabase form is a great relief for me.

Jon Cryer
James McAvoy
Blake Lewis”
Jon Cryer very funny, I love him as Duckie in “Pretty in Pink”, James McAvoy only the hottest actor out there right now with “Atonement” and of course Blake Lewis one of the most creative new artist in the music scene, LOL. That was corney but thanks for all the info and I am glad that BA is picking up more spins, well at least at some stations. I still have hope for BA, maybe Blake will get an interview with Z100 eventually. :)
Ty for that link Crystal J. It helpped me to find and request Break Anotha on my radio. I have requested by e mail. But this was so much easier. I wont bombard them but will request it once a week or every two weeks. I must say that this is first time I havent dreaded reading this thread. Alot more positive was said then negative thx guys. I can worry so easy on my own so when I come here I try avoid the negative because I will be up all night worrying even knowing that there isnt much I can do.
Can someone tell me what station the view comes on?
We have two stations that are Top40, that I listen to. One has a site with request/email function, one doesn’t. The one with e-mail I listen to more, but she hasn’t replied ONCE to any of the song requests I’ve placed! WUHU107 is very Idol friendly at least, so I’m hoping that eventually there will be a trickle down effect.
I went ahead and e-mailed XM Radio, and asked them to please put Blake’s name back on their request list. They have a customer feedback line for a reason, right?? Maybe a few peoples could add their voice too, and get him back on the list.

Bully,
They didn’t remove him from their initial playist there. What they took him off of was the top 20 countdown list. I don’t think they were getting a lot of requests for it there and I’m saying that based on what is played on the top 20 countdown each time. It’s basically the same songs, but not always ranked at the same # each time. For instance, Tattoo might be #20 at 3 pm and be #1 at 6 pm lol. It seemed or what it felt like was me, Nic, Crystal, and maybe even just you were voting for it although I’m sure others of you were probably voting as well. They get tons and tons of requests for the other songs and of course sometimes it’s hard to get some the younger fans involved in the voting. BA has done extremely well on XM overall in terms of spins per week though. :)
If you take CrystalJ’s link and substitute in X020 that should give you a Top 20 list from XM. I tried it and Blake is on the list with 6 spins by his name.
EOTW– I tried what you suggested with the X020-FM, but it doesn’t have a complete form. It comes back with a message at bottom saying “Sorry, insufficient data to generate 7 day report”.
Sorry. I saw the list when I typed in X020-FM, but did not scroll down the page. You are right. It says insufficient data. I don’t know why that is. Maybe someone else on this board knows. On mediabase it says it is X020-FM.
Bully and EOTW - I got a form for XM 20. Had to use letter for the second symbol, an “O” and not a zero. Unfortunately, it is one that comes up with the dashes where the weekly spins are. Some of us are thinking that the stations with dashes are the stations that are NOT monitored at Mediabase. And all of those forms with the dashes are identical. So, it may be pointless to vote on those. I did write to the DJ that is one of my MySpace friends. Her station is one that has dashes and no spin count. So, hopefully, she will respond.
Now, we do know that XM is monitored, but they do take their input from an online voting form….though, you’d think that Mediabase would still have the tracking figures to go in this form. So, who knows, maybe we are wrong about this.

Well, I’m back to requesting…..

Thanks Star! :)
I would hesitate to bombard stations with requests even if you don’t enter your info. I’m sure they can detect patterns.
ETA: If you don’t enter your info, they may take your request less seriously.

The View is on ABC.
We have two stations that are Top40, that I listen to. One has a site with request/email function, one doesn’t. Don’t give up ya’ll!!! BA has a lot of potential!..
And even if it doesn’t work out we have Surreneder to shoot to the number 1 spot on the top 40!.. hehehe.
Thanks CrystalJ for the amazing link!
YES! He was good!:-)
I would have liked more interview, but hey. Who noticed Elisabeth pointing at the back of the cd at the one she likes? (I think it was HMH.)
EOTW– I tried what you suggested with the X020-FM, but it doesn’t have a complete form. It comes back with a message at bottom saying “Sorry, insufficient data to generate 7 day report”.
Is it X020 without the FM endcode?
This is interesting, a Canadian fan brought it my attention - Blake made #5 on this List for Five Most Important American Idols ever ;).
