    *waves* to everyone:)

Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile…we moved and I’m finally ready to get back on the computer.

Exciting to read that HMW is now #11 on the dance charts. I heard HMW playing at a pizza place I was at a couple of nights ago. I’m not sure who was more excited, me or my children;) Anyway, it sounded great. It followed Chris Browns ‘Forever’. Still not sure why it didn’t take off on radio…*scratches head*.

Lack of label support would be one of the reasons is my guess

Thanks so much for the Modesto link Kasia! Wow. The crowd really seemed to love him. It was so cute at the end of the interview. He looked so excited, like a kid in a candy store. Love to see him so happy. He also looked so cute in his hat. Johnny looked happy also. I just still can’t believe the label did not let him tour. Can’t wait till September for “TWO-er”

Please come back with more teasers, that is what helps us keep going on here and things to look for.

Yes please Big D! Like Kasia said, we need carrots dangled in front of us and we’ll take any little scraps to keep us going. Please don’t make us beg! :laugh_tb:

On a selfish note, Blake mentioned in the D-list article that he wanted to do a voice-over for a Pixar film. Can I just say I would die a happy happy woman if that would happen. I LOVE Pixar movies. I think Pixar people are creative geniuses. And to marry my two obsessions would simply be Nirvana. *Please Blake, make it so*

EOTW, you are welcome. A little more for you and others from the same site. Check pictures 4 and 7. EOTW, Picture 4 is for you. :biggrin_wp:

Thanks for the links to the Modesto stuff! Did anyone from here actually GO to Modesto? I’ve been scouring the net all day for footage, aside from the teaser from the Modesto Bee site. I’m dying to see more! :)

  6. 6 newduck Jul 20th, 2008 at 10:11 pm

    EOTW,
Blake did say he put together a voice tape for auditions for that type of thing, so maybe! That would be very cool, wouldn’t it.

  7. 7 jenlar Jul 20th, 2008 at 10:14 pm

About Modesto… we had a B.L.Army team there and they delivered the goods! Kirsten sent me tons of media and I’ve just got to get it sorted out & posted.

Thanks to everyone who signed Blake’s birthday card. It looks great!

  8. 8 EndOfTheWorld Jul 20th, 2008 at 10:15 pm

Oh Yeah! Picture 4. Truly amazing. I just love him in his hats. The lighting in that photo is just beautiful. Thanks Kasia :biggrin_wp:

Here is a recap from the Blarmy over at IdolBored. They are promising photos and videos soon greeneyesxo. I am dying to see more also.

I definitly think it was lack of label support because awhile back i sent a txt to Q102’s morning show with booker and he sent me a text back saying he was dropped from his label they would never play him. but this was before he WAS dropped. if dj’s and people thought he was already dropped then maybe thats why it didnt get much radio play? just a guess :)

  10. 10 Nikki Jul 20th, 2008 at 10:43 pm

Ohhh, I’m excited to see more from last night! He sounded great and looked so adorable and happy in the Modesto Bee video.

Thanks to all who posted the videos and interviews these last few days. Loved, loved, loved the interview in DList magazine. He looked mighty fine in the behind the scenes video too. Very hot.

Also, YAY to HMW being # 11!!!

  11. 11 Bully Jul 20th, 2008 at 11:12 pm

Kasia– picture #4 is like Whoa. :-) *waggles brows*
Thanks for tipping us to the neat piccies.

I personally think it’s a really good sign, the X-Fests and Jingle-Bell-like concerts using him for their line ups. Obviously, they don;t see him as a “dead”, just a smaller talent waiting to break out. IMO, the more he does these things, the more radio will be cooperative. It’s a small world after all. By the time we see something happen, there are all kinds of behind the scenes stuff that made it so.

Hey Anne! :-) I played the most recent KTLA performance of HMW for my Mom, and she was like, “I’ve heard that song before, when I was having lunch, at Wendy’s.” Must have been put on their muzak disc! Yay!

  12. 12 Kasia Jul 21st, 2008 at 12:05 am

    Bully and EOTW,
I somehow sensed that you would appreciate that picture 4.

It looked that the crowd was really into Blake’s set. They showed quite a few guys in the audience rocking and bopping during Blake’s performance. I am glad Blake had a great time and the audience was responsive and supportive.

  13. 13 Bully Jul 21st, 2008 at 12:10 am

The piccies are UP at IB!
The recap was really great– Kirsten did a wonderful detailed job! LOVE hearing how they talked to the fans in attendance, and gave away the cds. Really neat. Blake was sweet to them too, which makes me all squishy. Nice. :-)

  14. 14 EndOfTheWorld Jul 21st, 2008 at 12:23 am

Oh those pictures are just great! I especially love this one. He just seems so “at peace with the music” And has just the slightest little grin on his face.

Blake was sweet to them too, which makes me all squishy.

Bully, I just love the way you describe things. You always bring a smile to my face. :biggrin_wp:

Nice recognition from Michael Slezak from EW of Blake’s birthday and the album. Thank you Michael we share your opinion that the album is way way underappreciated.

    http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2008/07/blake-lewis-bir.html?xid=rss-popwatch-20080721-Happy birthday, Blake Lewis!

  16. 16 digigirl02 Jul 21st, 2008 at 11:20 am

The album is underappeciated, better that then over rated(like most music today is) Happy Birthday Blake.

  17. 17 jenlar Jul 21st, 2008 at 11:36 am

Videos from the Modesto B.L.Army team are up at the IdolBored youtube, with two more partials going up right now. Keep checking back for more. “Modesto Freestyle” is one of my favorite performances to date, and the picture & sound are excellent. Be sure to watch in high quality!

Edited, because a link helps :)

  18. 18 Bully Jul 21st, 2008 at 11:47 am

    *Hugs Jenlar big-time*
These videos are seriously awesome. What better present could Blake get, than all this support from his BLArmy honoring him? I agree, the vids and pics from this concert are bee-yoo-tiful, and Modesto Freestyle is one of my favorite to date. :-)

Thanks for bringing over the nice EW mention Kasia. I really appreciated what he said, and his support for Blake still. Happy Birthday to Blake. A new, free year is just begun!

  19. 19 Kasia Jul 21st, 2008 at 12:17 pm

Thanks Jenlar for the link. I liked the free style but my favorite was Gots to get her. Too bad it was only portion of the song. Johnny and Blake are becoming quite a team.

  20. 20 BlakerCindy Jul 22nd, 2008 at 4:08 pm

    Hey everyone!
    Vote for Blake, here: http://www.musiqtone.com/music/thecount/

I just found this poll and am posting it everywhere. lol
YOu can vote more than once.
I think its about 50 ish times.
    But not really sure.

  21. 21 Skipperdjl Jul 23rd, 2008 at 1:09 am

    Hi all,
If you are in Seattle and want to attend Blakes Birthday bash at The Jet, you can purchase tickets at brownpapertickets.com. I don’t know the capacity but it’s not a huge place. This is an over 21 event. For those of you that are under 21, don’t forget that he’s doing a noon show at the Westlake Mall downtown with the full band and it’s sure to be a great show. And it’s freeeeeeee.

I liked Sleazaks article. Too bad there are the disenchanted to contend with in the comment section. I recognized a few of you ladies names and a guy or two… Bless you all. good or bad.

I’m anxious for the tour. Are you?
    hugs, d

  22. 22 music4me Jul 23rd, 2008 at 6:42 am

I’m anxious for the tour. Are you?

    Yes, very much so!

  23. 23 Bully Jul 23rd, 2008 at 8:26 am

Yes, I like the idea of a Tour very much. I’ll be curious how this will be done. I’d love to see him teamed up with another artist, for extra experience and “draw”.

The latest interview with BLArmy and IB was nice to see, however informal. The way he rapped off a reply or two makes me wonder where’s he’s at, and conspicuous as a fangirl. He does however sound very determined, and that will hold him in good stead, for the future endeavors. The music industry isn’t kind to those easily quashed, eh? He strapped his boots on, so he seems ready for the trek ahead. I’m proud of his determination definitely, so all I can say to that is Go Get ‘em, Boy.

Thanks for coming and checking in, BigD. We love hearing from you.

  24. 24 Kasia Jul 23rd, 2008 at 9:02 am

Same here. I am anxiously awaiting more news about tour. Seattle area will be lucky in July and August to have Blake appear in several events.

For those of you who do not have access to myspace, Bully mentioned Blake’s interview, here is link to BLArmy myspace where you can read the blog.

    http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=380473453&blogID=417206609

Blake mentioned there that his management is currently working on tour. That is very encouraging news.

  25. 25 Bully Jul 23rd, 2008 at 1:00 pm

I saw this on my travels at LJ last night– I don’t know why she didn’t bring it here herself. Blake is a Top Male Video at MTV, and they have a Voting thing up! You have to register to Vote, but how cool is that that he’s in the Top4? I was proud about that, so ping as you may!

  26. 26 EndOfTheWorld Jul 23rd, 2008 at 8:11 pm

I’m anxious for the tour. Are you?

    YES YES YES!!!!

Gee, a tour, there’s a novel concept to promote an artist *I’m looking at you Arista* :annoyed_tb:

  27. 27 greeneyesxo Jul 24th, 2008 at 10:25 am

New Blake interview. Really great! Talks about the break with the label, being home in the Seattle area, etc.

    Hi,
I went to the Musiqtone site and voted. Blakes faring pretty well for not having a hit on the radio. Keep voting. He’s not far behind Daughtry. The musiqtone manager said they look for donations to keep their site up. I wonder if what their revenue source can be. Can’t all be donations. Pay to play….

Have a great weekend. I’m going to the show tonight, so I’ll take a video or two and if they turn out I will post them. At least some stills….
    Hugs, D

  29. 29 Bully Jul 25th, 2008 at 7:39 pm

    Tx BigD!
Have a great time for us– we’ll be thinking of you all there!

    *keeps voting at musiqtone*

  30. 30 Kasia Jul 25th, 2008 at 7:48 pm

Have a great time Dallas. Pictures and videos from Blake’s concerts are always in high demand. :biggrin_wp:

Speaking about voting, Blake’s video was also among the contestants for best male video on MTV. But this poll is closed.

  31. 31 greeneyesxo Jul 27th, 2008 at 12:20 am

YAY BLAKE! I’m so happy for him. Number 8 is GREAT. =D

Oooooh ya know what that reminds me of? 8 is… August. I was just thinking about those charity events Chris and Blake were supposed to be doing together this August. Does anyone know about that? BigD? Perhaps you have some insight about that? I can’t waiiiiit until they announce them, if they’re going to happen.

  32. 32 Kasia Jul 27th, 2008 at 1:16 am

I found this short article and a very short video of Blake after his concert at Canal Room with StarShine Magazine. It was posted originally on June 27 but since there are not a lot of news, this might do for the time being. :smile_wp:

A few interesting pieces of information in the article such as Blake doing a track with Nick Hexum for the album, his workschedule (12 hour a day of), and a few others.

  33. 33 Bully Jul 27th, 2008 at 7:04 am

Thanks Kasia for bringing that over. There were a few neat tidbits in that. BT’s new album a throwback to Flock of Seagulls? Really? Interesting!
He sounded a bit trying hard to please, and how ironic that one of his fav tracks on the album is still KMN, aka The Natalie Portman song: the very first track we ever heard about. heh. I saw her on ProjectRunway last week, and she seems very high-maintenance, IDK. Tinytinytiny, delicate, high fashion minded. My Spouse smirked at us and said, “That’s who Blake loves, right there!” I hope he gets to meet her soon, and then he’ll be able to have some reality to go with his Princess Ardala opinion. They should re-show last week’s Project Runway this weekend, if you want to catch her celebrity-judging.

She *is* green-minded however, so maybe she’s not too out of line for him, eh? They would have the tiniest, prettiest babies ever together.:-)

  34. 34 EndOfTheWorld Jul 27th, 2008 at 12:28 pm

    Thanks for that article Kasia.

I saw Natalie Portman on Project Runway also Bully (I love that show!). Hee, I thought of Blake the minute I saw her.

I love this quote about all his studios: “It’s like our little hobbit village.” :laugh_tb:

Sounds like a lot of things coming up: September tour, new song with Derude, new song on BT’s album and Blake’s new album. Can’t wait for it all! Glad he is continuing with what he loves to do!
