There is another interview with Blake on Better.TV. Blake shows his driver’s license and picture on it, talks a little bit about singining TIM, and his album. It sounds like it was done when they were working on remixes of HMW.

hey guys!!! srry I haven’t been on much latley!!! I’ll be on hopefully more cuz schools out for summer!!! I were my blake shirt t oschool for the annerversary of Blake being in the top 2!!! guys.. I know this is random but I know why Blake didn’t win… alot of his fans didn’t vote.. they couldn’t bring themselves to do it… they liked blake and J spizzy…. ( i know this cuz I talked to like a lot of people at the time and they said that too me that they wouldn’t cuz they liked both of them)

Works been extremely busy and unless I stay up past my bed time I don’t have time to read what’s happening.
Blakes new Publicist is indeed getting him out in front of the people. He will be giving us some info on upcoming outings, etc soon. Blake is in Hollywood, will probably walk the red carpet but won’t be on the show..
I’ve read a lot lately and found out a few things too. Most of which are assumptions that are somewhat correct and somewhat crap.
The radio stations are owned by big money of course, not the labels. The labels can’t direct the radio stations to play songs. The big money that backs the station can be more convincing.
What I have concluded and many agree is that the AI group wants the winner to be the big ticket. Bummer, Taylor didn’t go big, nor Kat, but due to his rocking success, Chris D has done amazing…. It’s not in the cards for B to surpass Jordin… They put her in a duet with one of the hottest males and guess what, she has a hit. Tattoo was played endlessly… Did they want Jordin to fly, yes….
Let Blakes chips fall where they may and lets see what happens… They also thought his record would sell millions without much hype. It didn’t… so We keep pushing it because we know it is sensational music. That what the new publicist says too… So we all have lots to learn. Why they didn’t put B on the road to tour yet is way beyond me, that’s where he shines.
I will also tell you that the tag I’ve been reading about the label dropping him is a rumor started by a jilted person somewhere on the east coast. Too bad her shit stinks just like everyone else’s. It doesn’t take much for a rumor to get carried away… Like Hillary won Oregon and Montana and Barrack has to step down now. You do believe everything I write, right?
So, I’m on the ADD Train and every CD I have given away has been raved about so far and atleast a couple have started the pryimid going…

Hi BigD– Yeah, we thought of Blake tonite, watching the performances. Wasn’t it nice they let the artist pick one from the Top10 and tweak it a little to fit? My my, what a difference a year makes. Blake has to be a little ticked about that, but it’s all his fault anyway: before he came along, the show didn;t even think about an artist changing up a song like that! ;-)
I personally enjoyed it more, for AI letting them do that, tonite.
Thanks for the good news that he will be there with at least red carpet appearances. It was bothering me that he might not even be there, so thanks for that tidbit.
Awww, I am disappointed that Blake won’t be performing on the finale. I don’t understand that.

amazing how they changed the rules this year - could you imagine if Blake sang his own version? I tell you I think the contest is rigged ..lets see if D A wins..seems that what Simon has plugged..haven’t watched - not interested - but my rationale is that DA is marketable to the Disney crown, similar to Clay AIkens..he sells well so should DA..is DC too similar to Daughtry?

I thought the how they did coronation song was unfair to B. and some of the past contestants too. Oh well, they’ve been pimping both Davids so I doubt that they really care who wins. But I did like Cook last night not that Archie was bad, he wasn’t I just perfer Cook’s sound.

I, like Joyce, will be encouraging people to register and continue to listen to Blake’s songs on the computers so the songs can be scrobbled on last.fm. I am trying to watch if there are changes in numbers of listeneres over time. Roughly, it looks like there were 400 more listeners of Blake’s music this week compared to last. Whether it reflects recurring listeners and new ones or only new ones, it is hard to know but I think it is worth the efforts. It only requires starting play button on media player and enjoying his music. I also put some links to the videos in the shout out box from the concert.
All 7 of my CD’s have made their way to other people. Six of the seven original recipients have purchesed ADD for themselves. The seventh person hasn’t mentioned anything to me and I’m trying not to bug people about it. So that’s good news…the train is a rolling here.
Kasia I don’t know to post the link…but its www.xmfan.com then “request a song” then see “hits” then UPOP and then type in your request…maybe someone could post it..I focused on UPOP xm29 rather than 20on20 since they haven’t played HMW words for over two weeks…

My mom said he did that t oget him more votes… I kinda believe my mom cuz when he gave Carly good criteria she got the kiss of Death.. I don’t want Archie to loose… it’s not cool!!! Blake shoulda won last year and the year be fore that elliott shoulda won!!!! seriously!!! uggg… I wish they’s done wwhat they did this year last year… Blake’s hte reason they changed the rules this year because it was so unfair for him…. but seriosly!

Big labels may not own the radio stations, but they are “in bed” with the companies that do own them and they greatly influence what is pushed and what isn’t. I’ve been in the business and know that for a fact. It’s not correct for them to do it, but it’s done by every big label out there. Would they admit that they do that, not a chance.
What I don’t know is who pays for those commercials that we hear. I just heard one today about Coldplay’s new album. It’s a short spurt explaining that they have a new album and go check it out and such. Now I like them, but I”m not a follower of the band, so without this commercial or up front placement at the local Best Buy or Targer, I wouldn’t know that this album was even made. It got my interest and I may go check that out, simply because I now know about it.
Maybe, just a short spurt of those commercials right after the AI finale would remind people how much they enjoyed him on the show and also that might be the first most of them even hear that he has an album out.

newduck–I hear ya. I also heard an interesting thing about the record industry, and that being the shake up is only the beginning for trouble and mass make-overs at Labels. The next year will change everything, and next year may find it a whole new world for them to do business in. I believe it was said that the Satellite Market is what’s pushing change, in radio. With so many new boutique stations opening up on satellite, there are more chances to hear different things–and a lack of control then from corporate.
I think just what Kasia referred to, with listening online if possible, is a earmark of that sort of thing.If Blake gets airplay even from a boutique station, then he gets royalties and numbers they cannot account for.I don;t know how this is all going to shake down, but lack of album sales really is a problem. With all the free music nowadays, there is no need to rush to the store for your NEW release!
Maybe those days are over, of real promotion like us older folks knew.

Hi Plaiders…So I just turned on the Pre Idol show. Has any one seen Blake on the red carpet yet?
Two great new Blake interviews that seem to have been done pretty recently. The first one is awesome, it’s ALL about his music, his influences, people he wants to work with, and much more. Link.
In the other interview he talks about future projects, and mentions that he’s producing an album and that he wants to make an acoustic album. The best part though, he says he might tour with BT, possibly in September! Link.
