Hey all– I took a closer look at those cards that are at Walmart(and Target presumably). It says, it’s like a prepaid card for merchandise, shipping included. You go to this special “Josh Groban” or whatever website, and you have different merch to choose from!
Prepaid stuff, and it does look like possibly a physical cd. I’ll have to check that out at some point.

The one I saw at Target was from MusicPass. You go to the MusicPass website and then download the album (after entering a special code). But I think you are limited to that particular album on the card that you purchased. Here is their website. If you click on the button on that website “What is MusicPass” it shows a little video explaining it. Maybe the one at Walmart is different?
For the tour, I have a question. Is it going to be just Blake with his loop pedals like he did at the Canal Room, or with the whole ADD band?
According to emails from Johnny and info regarding KJ overbooking, I’m guessing it’s the whole band this time…too cool!
I must admit to being of two minds about Blake touring with the whole band. I love the intimacy of him alone but also appreciate his interaction with the band. Hopefully we will get the best of both worlds - maybe he will do a set by himself!?
NBNN– You are of Two Minds, because there are Two Sides of Blake. It can make it difficult to know what to expect, or how to feel! heh.

I remember Blake mentioning, I think in his blog, that the tour concerts would include a band but also his solo performance during the show. Anyone else recalls that information? I hope it is not my wishful thinking
I took a look at the Wildhorse Saloon site, just to see how it may compare to what is being offered for Blake’s tour so far. October is pretty open, and features Hanson like on the 3rd– $30 a seat, General Admission. I thought I’d throw that out there, as I’d mentioned it before.
Seems most of the places Blake is playing are in the $10 range, so maybe more Club-y than this. Lord knows Nashvegas is full of clubs, so who knows?
The Ryman Auditorium is also used for concerts, but again, is pretty pricey. Check out the level of artists coming in to play there, like Sara Bareilles. www.ryman.com/
Prices range from $50-70 a seat, depending.
I believe this hints at what the “sound” of the concert tour will favor– this is a group they will be sharing the bill with, at least at some of the gigs.

Bully… I can’t make the linky work, but if you’re linking to Carlotta then I can’t really say that I agree with the RHCP vibe :) I hear more flavors of Material Issue with a little bit of Ben Folds thrown in just for fun. Whatever, tho… I like the band! They have a slight “Manchester sound” that feels good to my ears. If you haven’t done it yet, get the album on iTunes and check it out. I got it last night, and it’s really good!

Spouse agrees with the Ben Folds vibe on the slower song. I guess what I meant was to hint at the energy-level of the songs, as we’ve described earlier. You have such a good ear for music Jen– love how you are able to put a point to things like that! :-)
It may be a bit too-high energy for some of us, but I do think it’s indicative of the sound.
I do not want to spoil the surprise. So go and check the entry that Blake left at IdolBored. I think you would love the news.

Oh my gosh!!! :) That’s such great news. I’m so happy for him… really. This is great. I wonder what the new single’s gonna be? A totally new one or one from this album? Hmmm. So much excitement.

just a thought of hope for those not on the East Coast. Hasn’t he said that this is a Oct & Nov two-er? It looks like he has gone from NYC to Florida in Oct so what does that leave for Nov? Me thinks he will hit your towns too…keep the fingers crossed.

That is graet Theresa. It looks like we have 20 days and tour update till 10/24. It looks like in most cases, 2 days are set for each state.
