I read Wolf’s and Oc Cali’s blurb…I too thought about it last night…for what ever reason Blake’s manager thought the poster by Dino-Mech was not in good taste, they were pulled unbeknowst to Blake BUT this is what bothered me…
I’m sure Dino-Mech was disappointed but to run to the paper and express their disappointment in a totally unprofessional way, “Total D Move ALert” put them at the bottom for me.. I will not even give them an opportunity to showcase their group…its like tattletaling…what I expect from a two year old…He intentionally blasted him…its plain nasty…so be it..
I too love PUPPIES but now prefer the older dogs…I volunteered at our local shelter for 3 years until my knees started bothering me…but the dogs/cats you see and the idiodic reasons for turning them in…breaks your heart…just imagine the abuse some children might endure…its a sad world we live in sometimes\
but let’s cheer up…hoping good news from Blake that he extends a tour to the midwest and west coast..
Kasia, LoT seemed to get quite a few hits…hopefully the base will be expanded.
I asked Spouse, and then my two kids seperately to weigh in last night. We agreed, the line crossed was in the blood and gore, not the concept of the “battle” itself.
Bully,
That is the part that really offended me. The head torn off with the blood. I guess the little “I was on American Idol” was sort of demeaning also, but not if it had been alone. The two things combined made it very demeaning and to me, a “put down”, not a joke. I think I have an open sense of humor (I like SouthPark for heaven’s sake!). I did not have a problem with the battle concept at all.
Oh– and please adopt from your area shelters or thru Petfinder.com!
Yes! and Yes! Believe in this with my whole heart. I have such a soft spot for animals. All the strays come to my house and peer in the window and see my pets laying on lavish blankets and eating and sleeping all day! Then they bang on the doors to have me let them into the pet spa that is my house! LOL But seriously, I have gotten all my pets either through pet adoptions or adopting strays. They have filled my life with pure joy. (I just lost one of my kitties a few months ago. I was devastated!). But she lived a long happy life.
Joyce, that’s three years longer than I’ve ever volunteered. You should be proud of yourself for helping where you can. I agree about older dogs because they’ve probably seen love and know what’s been lost. Oh yeah… I usually call all dogs “puppies” regardless of age!
EotW, I’m sorry about your losing your kitty this year. Nobody can say that she didn’t have a wonderful life and a wonderful family to love her!
We’ve only got one dog, but she was given to us because “she needs to be the only dog” even though she was there first. She’s a Yorkie/MinPin “designer” dog (really… who thought that was a good combo???) and somehow my husband & son aren’t allergic to her like they are every other dog.
I’m proud of Blake for adopting a dog when he could have easily bought one. He’s a good guy.
^owner of an awesome rescue doggie and I cannot say enough about what pets bring to a person’s life. And my kids, thankfully, don’t know what it’s like to live without them. There is a wholeness this particular one gives our family that would be sorely missed if we had not ate the fees and added the pup to our home. I have spent many prayers thanking for this blessing. Here’s to hoping everyone that can, will adopt a great little (or big) family member ASAP.

Catching up with news. Here are my random thoughts.
The picture of Sir Diddimus is adorable.
I am glad Cali from IB was able to exchange some texts with Blake. At least we have the other side of the story. The end.
I also heard from my favorite DJ. He mentioned that Blake has “a few fans” in the area and he hopes that LoT will be realeased really soon!!!” I think that is a very promising sign. He has been straightforward with me in the past when things were not going so well with HMW. So this coming from him, I take that he and maybe others at the station, really liked the song.
Finally, a few random tidbits that I remembered from the Philly’s show. I thought you might be interested. My husband talked with Blake about the music and it turns out that both are great fans of Eva Cassidy. She did have a great voice.
Also, when we talked about Sting’s music, I mentioned that one of my favorite Sting’s song was “Russians”. Blake hummed parts of it. It sounded so good and I would not mind if he did that as a cover some day.
voted at the animal rescue…one thing I might mention at shelters, at least the one I help…I collect towels, blankets and sheets…once you volunteer at a shelter, you can’t believe the clean up and the need for bedding…I’m lucky enough where I work (gov’t) that we put out a newsletter to over 16,000 residents…I put in a small blurb requesting donations of bedding (dogs and cots don’t care if they’re old - they’re colored blind)..and the response I get each week, is amazing..The shelter is very happy. I receive at least 100-200 beddings a week and believe me, the shelter uses them..so just a thought for some who might not be able to donate monies, but bedding is important..so ask you shelter if needed…
I foster the German Shepard I have now, a cruelty case, left to starve in a basement - never out of a cage - just used for breeding..(3 other pure breed Germans died)..most shelter animals are so appreciative. DIdn’t intend to have 3 big dogs but how can you say no…use to have cats but my husband is highly allergic…
well so much for that…I could tell you some funny stories about the animals
I didn’t see the pic of Sir DIdimus since I don’t blog on my space…oh well…I just kiss my babies..
Just had the two colleges girls (our summer help) stopped in to say “hi”..of course I torment them about Blake and made them listen to LoT…. But tehy both LOVED it.. listen to LoT @mexicali…you can really hear the words and listen to the apart where he whispers “don’t stop” so sexy…but the kids loved it! heavens, the song better be released soon I do feel it will take off and be a top ten contender
Thanks Joyce! That is very good audio. I would like to know all the words but I love what I can make out. And sexy? Definitely. That picture of Sir is absolute love. I want to squish him!
Sir Diddimus looks dashing in blue. I love his little face.
All of my cats have been rescued, adopted, or fostered. We lost two in the past few months (one of them was 15). I’m sure we’ll adopt again when the time is right.
listen to the apart where he whispers “don’t stop” so sexy
Yay for all those on this thread with giving hearts! :-) Adopting an animal is a wonderful thing, if you can. I have rescued a few, taken in strays, adopted at shelters– and they all have added greatly to our lives. I guess our motto is, there’s always room for one more. We currently have 4 dogs; one very elderly German Shep we got as a puppy, but the rest were all adopted. They have to get along, living in our menagerie, but they do.(Cats are important here!)
Shelters get ALL kinds of dogs.We got a Maltese one time, a Toy Poodle another. I like how you put it, EOTW–your animal “spa!” heh! Sounds like a pretty good place! :-) Our place isn’t so fancy, but it’s cozy.
Thanks for all the positive shout-outs for shelters and donating. Joyce, that is really super advice. Those places always need something, even shoeboxes for cats to hide in!
It’s the closed thread that Dino-Mech had posted on. Cali posted after Wolf’s. I finally found it. Thanks!
Has anyone heard that some former Idol contestants are being asked to “mentor” the Season 8 idols instead of the string of celebrities they have had in the past? They are trying to bring the fans back from other seasons by bringing favorite former Idols back.
Pondering B doing this….hmmm, yep that would work.
Completely random–
Did anyone see yesterday on GMA the bar where Diane Sawyer was working?
They were featuring the people that hang out there, and one of them was this gorgeous asian girl. They asked her to sing a little something, and she did– and I was just like like Wow! Talent, it’s out there hiding everywhere…and I guess that is one of the benefits to a show like AI, for me. I LOVE the idea of someone normal, getting a chance to sing and make a career that family otherwise would scorn.
This girl was interested in acting and Broadway, and Diane’s people got her an audition with a producer. Sweet. I wondered if like Blake, she was one of those serious musician people that in a million years it wouldn’t occur to them to try out for AI. She was young enough. That we got Blake on that show was pure luck, and maybe God’s timing.
We saw Jordin’s video on this morning, “One Step at a Time”, and Spouse commented, that the right person won Idol that year. Back then I would have refuted that statement, based solely on originality– but time has shown that she was open to being made a Star, being molded. I think it turned out right, that way.
I think it turned out right the last two years actually, but I also am one that thinks they have started to tinker with the results a bit…but that’s just me (and two million other people)
EotW, I’m sorry about your losing your kitty this year. Nobody can say that she didn’t have a wonderful life and a wonderful family to love her!
Thanks Jenlar. It was very difficult, but she was loved. Actually, she was a diabetic kitty for the last 4 years of her life (she lived to be 16). I had to give her shots twice a day (never on earth imagined I would be able to do that!). But she and I got through it, and she got a lot of attention from me (I think my other kitties were jealous!), and we became so close. So I knew in my heart, I gave her my all. All my other kitties are old also (one of mine is over 18 years old). That is why they get the “spa treatment” at my house Bully LOL. If they are that old and have endured me for that long, I feel that they can have whatever they want!
We lost two in the past few months (one of them was 15). I’m sure we’ll adopt again when the time is right.
I am so sorry music4me. I know exactly how you feel, although losing two within a few months is even more devastating. I know you will adopt again when you feel the time is right.
I admire so many of you on here for donating your time to shelters and such. I always thought that later in life when I retire, I would like to donate time at a vets or at a shelter to help animals. My only problem, though, is I am not sure I would be able to endure seeing all the suffering. I think my heart would break.
Oh….I guess this board is about Blake! LOL. So I better talk about him!
Loved the very mature and open dialogue on IdolBored concerning “the Poster”. Glad it all seems resolved. I also loved the post that MJ put over on her board. Loved that she looked into it and posted the facts. I was scared to look at the comments, but most people seemed to agree it was wrong.
Still hoping to get news soon about Blake’s new label and the status of LOT. LOT is still stuck in my head.
Twas the tour handler who slew the dragon dino-mech, not the prince. Yon handler didn’t inform the prince until said task was compelete. Thus, the rest of the story. His High-nes nor did cast his eyes upon said graphics.
Do I hear an “amen”?
Hi, I’m new here, but I see a lot of familiar names!
I’ll give you an AMEN!
Kasia ~ I’m not on that other board anymore so I thought I would come over here and let you know that I am having trouble with my movie software and I can’t get it to burn DVD’s correctly. I have been busy and will continue to be busy thru November, so I don’t know when I’ll have time to figure it out. I will get you a DVD sometime!
Thanks Skipperdjl for your clever story. I think it answers all the questions.
Hi DaisyKary,
Good to see you here. I hope you will post more often. Whenever you get to do the DVD, I will be thrilled. Thanks for offering to do it in the first place.
EOTW and any one who has ever lost a pet…they are part of your family and when they pass away, your heart breaks in two, the heaviness , the sorrow but time heals the wound and life moves on…the pain become less but the will always live in memory forever..amen
okay on Youtube last night
again check ou LoT Richmond by Work2deth…he again changes LoT the stage or background for SC was so much better than North Star Bar stage…After reviewing some of the gigs, (while waiting for the Phillies to start) I really think Blake was at his best at North Star, Philly…look at LoT again…look at he gets into the music, the body moving oh yes those swaying hips …I’m sweating now…
but one of the most favorite I have is say “surrender” at North Star” the CD doesn’t do it justice…Blake brings this song alive…Johhny playing the guitar with that high note,,,this is the 1st time I really heard Kent in the background harmonizing..I think he gets lost sometimes but in this song, I could hear him singing..watch Balkes body movement particuarly at the end…he is pounding the stage and pleading ’surender, surrender, surrender…OKAY I give in…just throw bucket of water on me, I’m too hot….eh
but what make Blake stand out, his his ability to produce, write and arrange and deliver the song..yes there are some who can hit higher notes and power the lungs but I think Blake has such stage presence and brings meaning to his performance
Welcome DaisyKary…I know you were not to happy with my recap when I mentioned the video recordings…as mentioned to Kasia, I stood in the back and noticed the back 2 rows fidgeting and talking, etc which was disconcerting to the back…I’m so happy that you along with a few other recorded but the point was that some of the kids were distracting especially the one drunk girl who kept yelling “beat box bitch”…heavens, while Blake was beatboxing, she hooked up with someone and I thought they were have sex on the floor….
another thought” How did the band come together? high school friends, auditioned, orrecommended to Blake?
I’ll add an Amen, Skipper. Thanks for posting the links to the SC videos, Jenlar. Welcome, DaisyKary.
but what make Blake stand out, his his ability to produce, write and arrange and deliver the song..yes there are some who can hit higher notes and power the lungs but I think Blake has such stage presence and brings meaning to his performance
Joyce, I think that’s a good assessment of what makes him so talented and so enjoyable. And wow, your description of his performance of “Surrender” at North Star. I also loved his bluesy, jazzy intro to “Gots to Get Her” at SC. So glad that got captured on video.
Joyce ~ Thanks for clearing that up. I just felt like you were scolding me and anyone else who videotaped Blake’s show.
“Surrender” at North Star Bar? Really? I have that videotaped and I didn’t think it was their best so I didn’t upload it to YouTube.
After reviewing some of the gigs, (while waiting for the Phillies to start) I really think Blake was at his best at North Star, Philly
We are probably a little biased here. But I have to agree with you about Surrender. I liked the CD version but it was not my favorite song on the album. The live version in Philly blew me away. Blake put some passion in it and and with the whole stage charisma, the song sounded fantastic live. I also loved the medley and especially “Silence is golden” and “Love song”.
I hear you DaisyKary. I still have to return tickets for Allentown concert. I was holding to them hoping that it might be rescheduled. :-(
AMEN, BigD! I agree, right from the first it did not sound right, let alone like Blake. The idea of him calling to cuss someone out seems very out of character, IMO. Thanks too, for the fun way of saying so! heh! Very clever!
Joyce!– hee! That part with “Surrender”, you kill me. (And yes, I agree! Pour the water on me too!)
Joyce, and all,
Blake tied in with KJ about 5 years ago and would jam at Tost with him and others. I don’t know where they met, but they have known each other for awhile. Blakes been doing MC and beatat Raves in the greater Seattle area for years. He’s met a lot of muscians along the way. Kent was mixing it up with Kj and knew Blake for a long time. Jeremy has been around for a long while too and when Blake needed a band he went to his friends first. I heard Blake say he met Johnny once long ago but he’d been in LA for a few years chasing his dreams and just happen to come into town when they were recording Break anotha and they hooked up. We, D and I, heard Johnny one night at the studio when they were working on Break Anotha and were very impressed….. KJ has been traveling and recording for a while and now we hope that they can all step up a notch. Wounldn’t that be nice. AND THANKS FOR THE GREAT VIDS EVERYONE. FOR THOSE OF YOU IN THE NORTHWEST, DON’T MISS NOV. 7TH AT THE SODO SHOWBOX.
Hugs and have a great week.
d
Mr. Lewis thanks for the backstory on the guys:) I do think they sound so much tighter as a band than they did at the beginning of the year. The one thing that I noticed after watching all of these wonderful video’s that everyone has posted, is how different the vibe is on the songs than on the album. To me, the album really does have that 80’s “Pretty Pink” sound to it. But live…it just sounds grittier(not sure if that is even a word). More stripped down I guess. I love the album, but I really love the way the songs sound live.
EOTW thanks for posting the article about Blake…nice read:D He will always be my favorite AI, and he wasthe reason I watched that season.
Bully… while Dave was playing, my friend (CLH, for those who know her) looked at me with *huge* eyes and said, “He’s *really* talented!” Then we stood there and just soaked up his performance. He’s good -really good- and gave huge emotion to his performance. His original music… make sure to listen to the lyrics. He has one song about a man who is realizing what he lost due to alcohol abuse. Hauntingly beautiful… and he made sure to tell us that it was just a song, not autobiographical :)
He is even a good enough sport to perform a song that he didn’t really know as thoroughly as he would have liked, “as long as you help me out. If I stop singing, I’d better hear *you* singing!” He stopped maybe twice, face lit up with a laugh & a smile, the audience reminded him of the lyrics, and he kept on going.
If you’ve $10 rattling around, pick up The Daylight Hours cd at their myspace. You’ll love it!
Between Blake’s little bulletin about shelter pets and Natalie’s completely adorable puppies video, it makes me want to squish all of you :)
How about that picture of little Dids? Is he adorable in his lil blue collar or WHAT???

Joyce, I think that’s a good assessment of what makes him so talented and so enjoyable. And wow, your description of his performance of “Surrender” at North Star. I also loved his bluesy, jazzy intro to “Gots to Get Her” at SC. So glad that got captured on video.
Thanks for the welcomes.
Joyce ~ Thanks for clearing that up. I just felt like you were scolding me and anyone else who videotaped Blake’s show.
“Surrender” at North Star Bar? Really? I have that videotaped and I didn’t think it was their best so I didn’t upload it to YouTube.
*sigh* I need another Blake show!
Just Amean…and did someone go to the Rennfest or something, cause we just got back and that post fit in quite nicely!
Amen Mr. Lewis…and like Jenlar, that whole thing did not seem like Blake at all.
Welcome DaisyKary:D
Joyce,
We are probably a little biased here.
Kasia
agreed its not my favorite on the CD, but in concert, he brought a whole other dimension to this song…
Daily kary..watch it again, and let me see if you noticed what I was..
was I a little biased at North Star yes but I watched the other performances but he really was into the songs..
oh well let me go and watch football now catch you all alter
Welcome DaisyKary– always room for one more!;-)
Awww. Nice article on why America loved Blake on A.I.
Cryptic code…how much do I love Kent right now…way too much!!

Great article, and a reminder to those who need it, about why it is we all like him! ;-) Really a wonderful, positive message. Good find!
The singer that M4M liked at the last concert, his name was Dave from the Daylight Hours. Here’s his MS–

check him out!
