I’m not sure if I want to answer or not answer when my phone rings (assuming I have the option)…if I don’t, then perhaps I’ll have a voicemail from Blake - now wouldn’t that be just awesome? Granted, if I’m scrubbed in and my phone rings, I won’t even have the option.

I was at a Halloween party last night and someone brought up AI, so I got a plug in for Blake’s album. My friends are like Nikki OMG. I told them this is what being a fangirl is all about. I think they are going to pick it up though!

I hope Blake’s bronchitis skeedaddles soon. That kind of irritation can play havoc with your throat, and ribs with coughing. Even Ethan seemed a little concerned, you know? and I don’t think he has our fangirl-mothering-loving tendencies! :-D

My report is on Blake Lewis. Blake was born on July 21, 1981. His parents names are Dinah and Dallas Lewis. Blake lives in Bothell, Washington. He has no siblings. Blake started singing at the age of five.
Blake started middle school at Kenmore Junior High. He graduated from Inglemoor High School in 1999. Blake was in a choir that traveled around Europe. He started to beatbox at the age of seventeen. Blake can also play the drums, guitar, and piano.
Blake Lewis has written many original songs, such as “She Loves the Way” and “Jealousy”. He was a member of the a cappella group KickShaw. A cappella is when you sing by yourself with no music. Blake performed under the stage name Bshorty. Before he entered American Idol he was working on a solo album.
Finally, he performed for American Idol. The try-outs were in Seattle. He sang “Crazy” by Seal. Blake was the first contestant to ever beatbox. “You Give Love A Bad Name” was his most popular performance. Blake was the last male contestant on the season six show. The judge Rand Jackson said Blake was the most original contestant ever on American Idol. He took part in the American Idols Live tour from July 6 to September 23, 2007. Blake performed “Time of the Season”, “She Will Be Loved”, and “You Give Love A Bad Name.”
Blake’s first album, “Audio Day Dream: ADD” comes out on December fourth. Blake’s first single “What You Got to Lose?” come out October 21, 2007. Blake might tour with Maroon 5.
I like Blake because he is cute and a good singer. My teacher really likes Blake, she even got to meet him! We have a Blake wall in our classroom and sometimes we listen to his songs on the computer. That is my report on Blake Lewis.

Between The Last Goodnight’s set and Elliott’s set, my roommate and I decided to hit the ladies’ room and get our last drink of the night. Well, we come out from the bathroom, and there’s Josh Hoge standing at the bar. Nice! No work at all on our parts. So, we approach him, and I ask him as we’re taking a pic if I can ask him a question and he says sure. So… I lead in with “so I’ve heard that you’ve written some songs that Blake Lewis had recorded…” And off he goes… Here’s the gist of what he said.

He wrote two songs that Blake considered, but he only ended up recording one, and he knows it WILL be on the album, and thinks it might be a single (at first, he said the first single, but then kinda changed the wording of that to “a” single). I asked him what the title was and he said “Know My Name”. He said he originally wrote it with Ryan Tedder, and that he (Josh) was going to record it. But, since Ryan is producing for Blake, somewhere along the way, Blake heard the song and loved it. So Josh gave the okay for Blake to record it (which was a smart move on his part, because if the album takes off, at least he gets cowriting credit and a decent paycheck from it), and the rest is history.

However, here’s a new twist - he said now, the guy from Gym Class Heroes is also getting involved - whether he meant that Blake rerecorded the original version to include a guest performer in that guy, or if there’s gonna be a remix, I dunno. But he said that the guy from Gym Class Heroes is involved in some shape, form, or fashion. I couldn’t quite make heads or tails of which scenario he meant there, and I didn’t think to ask for further clarification, but anyway, there you have it.

As I said… I heart Josh Hoge. Nice guy, GREAT voice, love his songs, and he’s definitely easy on the eyes. ;)

And wow Mr. Lewis, “What You Got To Lose” isn’t the first single? Woah! I can’t wait to find out what it is! *excited*

Poor B, sick AGAIN!!! I swear it seems like he just got over being sick. Damn colds messin’ with his sexy voice lol! What the hell! j/k I hope he gets some rest to get rid of it! Do I need to send another get well soon card again lol. I sent one last time he was sick.

Hey BigD– Thanks for the single news. I guess we are all just anxious to get a taste at this point. Hopefully us fangirls won’t be too tough to take in the meantime. ;-)

Re teachers and influencing?– Youngest’s teacher went to the concert, and she was barely conversational about it. Even knowing what big fans we are at our house, she was all demure, sort of palming it off. I thought it was a stinky thing to do–so when Youngest told her teacher later this fall that we MET Blake? Hah! You should have seen her expression! Score one for the kids.

BTW, Youngest is bringing her newly-framed autographed piccie in for Show and Tell this week. She is very, very proud.
