I heard earlier today that B was out with his hood up (how cute) and spread his arms out and said “Thanks for coming!” Hehe, such a doll.

Thanks! I just listened to it, and the first thoughts I had were HSM, Disney, and that anyone else could have sung it. I want Jordin to do well, but she really needs to stand out more. Being sweet and bubbly won’t cut it on the radio. Kelly Clarkson made a name for herself with “Miss Independent” early on, but I don’t really want to compare the girls right now. Carrie, either.

I almost positive Blake will be the real winner of this season because he knows exactly what he wants, just like Kelly and Daughtry, as an artist and a songwriter.

He tripped over NOTHING - his feet shot out from under him and he bit the dust, and did a goofy flail and :O face at the audience. It was SUPER cute and yes, I have video. My camera battery is dead, though, so I’ll upload when I get home tomorrow.

Blake was in a super shibby good mood - during “Let’s Get it Started” he totally flashed us quite a bit of happy trail, then was popping a bubble Jordin blew with her gum and then he had his security dude shirt up over his head Cornholio style. And he was totally goofy during the Guy Band and the end TIMN reprise. He was doing some kind of weird shit during the very end and Chris and Jordin were LOSING it laughing. Super cute.

I didn’t meet him. I got close-ish a few times but whenever I got close to the front he wound up leaving. He hates me, wah! :P

Finally Blake’s press release :

“Blake Lewis, the beat-boxing runner-up to Jordin Sparks on the sixth season of American Idol has been signed to 19 Recordings/Arista Records. He is already recording an album with producers from JR Rotem to Sean Kingston, due to be released at the end of the year.

Clive Davis says of Lewis, “Blake has a strong music sensibility and knows who he is and what his music should represent. His collaborators are all knocked out by him.”

Lewis, who has already experienced chart success with two of his covers from Idol, is working on the album while touring with his fellow show finalists. “I love performing, so spending the summer on the road has been a great experience,” Lewis says in a statement. “But I’m also enjoying my time in the studio and I’m very excited about recording my debut album. I’m thrilled to be working with 19 Recordings and ARISTA Records”

Idol creator Simon Fuller calls Lewis “one of the most unique contestants I’ve ever seen.” Despite being different, hopefully Lewis can follow in the footsteps of past Idol successes like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.”

Just listened to Jordins new song. It is okay. The first thing I thought of was Hillary Duff and that gang. Which at this stage of the game is a perfect fit for Jordin, she is only 17:) Is it a song that I would sing while driving in the car, no…but a lot of young girls will love it. I still don’t like Jordin’s lower register…something about it. I like Jordin best when she is belting out the big ballads. However, I’m not a big fan of the big ballads. Still I wish Jordin much success. Though if that is the way the majority of the CD sounds like I will not be buying it.

I did play it for my son, who is 12, this morning before he left for school. His exact words were “Yeah…no” I’m so giving away my age:)

So I just listened to Jordin’s song and it didn’t do a thing for me. The rhythm was the same for the whole song. I think young girls will like it though (High School Musical, Hannah Montana type girls). Since I am way way past that age group, I won’t be buying her CD if it’s like that. The only song I liked was “I Who Have Nothing”; however, it just showed she can belt it out but it is a very old song and she didn’t make it “now.” That’s the difference between Blake & her. He makes old songs new and makes it his own. When he sang TOTS, he revitalized that song and that’s when he really caught my attention. YGLABN is much better than the original and when he takes a new song like SWBL, loops it, and then adds WOWY it made it a new and unique song. If you hear Blake, you know it’s Blake, if you hear Jordin, she sounds like a lot of other people. I really see Jordin doing Disney stuff and I’ve said that time and again. Blake caters to folks of a wide age range. He sings songs I remember when I was in my teens which I like and adds his unique touch to it with b-boxing, loops, etc. I liked the electronic sound too. I want something different from what’s out there on the radio and Jordin doesn’t appear to be able to do that for me. I just hope Blake’s album knocks me off my feet. Okay, I admit it, some folks have mono-vision, I have Blake-vision.

LOL! Somebody seriously needs to make a youtube video montage of the poptart vids and concert moments. He and Chris Rich together are hilarious!

I’m hoping B-Shorty didn’t hurt himself with that little tumble. Any recaps from the Long Island show? I know I’m impatient - what can I say?? I’m glad Blake’s press release finally came out. Hope they do some more interviews with him so we can hear him talk about the CD again!
