OK… I’ve gotta ask… where did the whole “ninja” thing originate? I know that he does that i’ve-got-way-too-much-energy thing with his hands, but is there a quote or something that I’ve missed?

In one of the first interviews he says that they are not suppose to take pictures….but he brought his camera and he says something like “I’m kind of like a ninja, I have like 1000 pictures” or something like that.

That is fairly ridiculous that I know that. Slightly too fangirl. Ha.

Chris Sligh kind of reminds me of me. A little strange, fairly intelligent, and mostly misunderstood.

I sorta get him. When I read his blog…I was like Oh…he is a fanboy that gets to be famous. Fabulous for him. I’d be bloggin away if I were him as well. I’d probably name drop tho. He is less of a fanwhore than I would be.

Back to the subject at hand…Does anyone else think it is funny to watch Blake “acting” in this little promo? Practicing delivery and timing for a Pop Tart ad. I find it funny for some reason.

I checked out Sligh on TWOP last night. Boy! People are really bashing him. I kinda feel bad for him.

Unfortunately, the world is full of sarcastic, judgemental, snipe-y people just looking for somebody to put down and Chris Sligh makes himself an easy target b/c he just can’t stop blogging! I only feel bad for him in that I think he just kinda bumbles and blunders his way around his new found fame. As a friend of Blakes I’m sure that it’s very tempting to want to drop his name and give out too much information ’cause it generates a lot of attention. It’s funny because Chris Sligh is kind of like the anti-Blake. Whereas Blake is all smooth and easy w/people and has this nearly supernatural ability to charm and say the right thing, Chris Sligh is ackward and tries too hard and tends to say the wrong thing, poor guy. It would be nice if everyone could be blessed w/Blakey smoothness but, heck, that’s part of what makes Blake so special, right? I appreciate Chris Sligh’s penchant for blogging as is provides me w/a little bit of Blake in the dry times!

Err….since everyone is talking about the tour, I hope I can drop a question here because I really is wondering what is going on.

Well, I bought a ticket from ticketmaster.com for the tour (Pop-Tarts Presents American Idols Live), it’s on Aug 25, 2007, at Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale. However, I just checked the official AI website, it shows that the only date they are performing at Nassau Coliseun is on Aug 24, but I can swear there are two dates on ticketmaster.com, so I bought the one on Aug 25.

This is the first time I am purchasing the ticket for AI tour, because of Blake, of course, . I hope I didn’t get the wrong ticket or something like that. Can anyone tell me what is going on here???

Oh no, not our Blake! LOL j/k. I don’t mind the swearing, drinking, and having sex, but the smoking would turn me off. If he did those 3 in moderation, he’d still have my respect.

That article is awesome. It’s nice to hear more about the underground Seattle music scene and how they’ll be affected by all this. It’s also great to read what we’ve already known, that Blake is about the music and talent, not the fanatic pop stardom that he’s been thrown into.

Once again, I TOTALLY agree! In the words of Simon Cowell, “It’s contemporary!” lol That article was written with a young adult audience in mind - exactly what Team Plaid draws in. Teeny-boppers are great and all, but the young adult crowd is probably going to be more dedicated than other portions of the demographic. I feel 100% comfortable saying that Blake hasn’t “sold out” one bit! Theresa, I totally agree with you. I don’t mind people that swear, drink, or have sex out of marriage, but smoking. Oh no. Blake can do almost anything, but smoke. (Sorry for any smokers out there.)

I watched American Idol this year. I liked it. A hip hop artist almost won. I am glad he didn’t, as he would have had to sing some ridiculous song about rainbows and basking in the moment. Instead, he rocked Jamiroquai (very well) and beat-boxed almost an entire Bon Jovi song. That, is fairly terrific. He was able to represent the Seattle underground scene and call attention to musicians that have so much talent they are literally creating their own genre. Seattle.

Hopefully the rest of the country will stop listening to what the record label producers try to feed us as good music. Underground is only underground because 60 year old business men push out a product they decide will make them billions of dollars. Most of America doesn’t realize what real music is because they have never heard it. The “itunes” era is changing all that. You can peruse playlists, and artists can get their product out and known in a way that was impossible until only recently.

American Idol is scoffed at by many of my avant-gard friends who decided long ago that TV is for the plebeian masses. I say, why hate? Enjoy yourself. I haven’t ever bought a cd by anyone on American Idol, mainly because I am not really a fan of radio ready music. ( Should I take my own advice and go buy a Carrie Underwood CD? Why hate, right? Jesus should totally take the wheel.) I find it ironic that a show that typifies mainstream culture has the potential to bring underground music to the public at large. I mean, seriously, Doug E. Fresh and Blake Lewis beatboxing on the American Idol Finale show? If you think you couldn’t enjoy that, you need to reevaluate what you consider entertainment.

I actually knew a little about the Seattle music scene before I watched American Idol this year, but it led to me search diligently to find out more. Good job with the namedrops, Blake. Music has the ability to create passion and give a soundtrack to the experiences of your life. I am excited to see what is in store for pop culture in the near future. It could be really good.

Hello everyone,

A lot of questions keep coming up if this is my page or not. It is!! I just got back online from not having control of my page because of American Idol contest rules and now its up and running.

As of now, I’m am in rehersals for the A.I. tour and things are running smoothly. Got a lot of special things happening on the tour this year and I’m really excited for it to start. On top of tour, I have been in meetings with producers and writers for my album, which is set to come out sometime by Thanks Giving to Christmas. I can’t thank you enough for all the responses and support that has come from this amazing journey. I’ve been working hard for the last seven years on writing and performing and American Idol has been the best platform for me to reach out and communicate my art thus far. Thank you again for reaching back.

Very soon I’ll be putting up some music, pictures and art I have been working on.

My post was more snarking at the handwringing from Taylor fans last year when pretty much the same thing happened. Taylor cursed in his interview with Gray Charles and all hell broke loose. So now, we joke at MJ’s all the time about starting prayer threads when someone does something “questionable.” Or if we just want to snark. Heh.

Those inside the Taylor camp can elaborate better than I, I’m sure. LOL.

at the moment i feel sort of bad for jordin. i mean she did win and all, but i feel the spot light isnt on her but on blake. which to us and his fans is a good thing. i think more ppl are waiting for his Album rather than Jordins, not only becuase he’s different, but also because we can be assured that his album with be unlike the others out there, and jordins is going to be blended in with the rest. i have a feeling her album will have a Jojo sort of feel.

I have a feeling that the tour’s opening number is a singing and dancing number with choreography by Wade Robson from So You Think You Can Dance. Aside from the Nigel thing, Wade has some fantastic group opening numbers on SYTYCD. And for another year, my pick is gone. Blake, Ryan, Ricky.

I also have thought that the guys number will be a instrument group number since most play multiple instruments.

Sarah, the things that went on last summer re Taylor and the sites were just on the tip of the iceberg. It just might be a SP thing or the internet following, yet the media scrutinizes everything. The bulk of the multi-part interviews he gave with the Gray Charles site last summer/during the tour was rather cringe-worthy since I have an inkling that TPTB would be reading sites during the summer. Some things are better left unsaid if you want cordial relations in the industry and with consumers.
