These past two days have been so slow with Blake news I really can’t wait for that Arista press release to come out. It should be any minute now.

I am betting it will be this Friday, a week after Jordin’s was announced. At least I hope so. Sigh. Patience.

In all seriousness, I doubt the lack of Blake press releasage now has anything to do with anything about Jordin. You guys saw how detailed her press release was, right? It’s not something you can just whip out there. No doubt there are decisions that have to be made, and then it takes some time to write the thing…then it probably has to be approved by a number of people before it’s made public. I’m sure Blake’s team will get it out there when they get all the i’s dotted and all the t’s crossed.

I personally have no doubts that Blake is signed to a Sony/BMG label. To me it’s just a question of which one.

I had a thought earlier today: does anybody else think that they might wait until Jordin’s first single comes out?

I can’t see what Jordin’s single would have to do with putting out Blake’s press release. One should have nothing to do with the other especially since her press release is out and like Sarah said, 8/27 isn’t that far away. That would be this coming Monday. So, if you assume that press releases come out on Fridays, and this became a factor, then the press release would come out on the 31st. Hopefully, it won’t be that long, but we will just have to wait as long as it takes.

I’m a bit anxious about a press release as well. I think at this point it’s just a formality. Blake is going to have an album out and lets hope it lives up to our expectations. I believe it will. :)

In the meantime, check out some local music in your area. I bet bshorty would approve. ;-)

I think everyone should hear that last night, while signing autographs, Jordin was saying she had never been that tired in her life and that she was dizzy. A little later, I see a bodyguard grab her and pull her away. I thought that was weird but then you could tell he was holding her up. Her grandma went over and helped her stay up and she was taken into the buss. Melinda stopped signing and ran in after her. She didn’t leave the bus for the rest of the night. :(

There is an update now on the very top of MJ’s page regarding Jordin’s “target” release date and take a wild guess when it is? LOL This info was linked to the Idol Chatter blog.

Looking for a more precise release date than the vague “November” alluded to in Jordin Sparks’ signing announcement? Nov. 20 appears to be the target date. Of course, these things have been known to shift …

If this is the case, then I don’t think 11/20 will be B’s release date. If her release date gets pushed back further, then I don’t think it will be an issue.

Also, wouldn’t Simon F be managing both of them? Wouldn’t he have had some idea about how they were going to push Jordin and Blake when giving B the ok to give out 11/20 as the date? Ugh, thinking too hard again…

On an optimistic note, maybe that means he will release earlier :)

I was thinking that might not happen because since Jordin is like AI’s princess so to speak, they wouldn’t want B overshadowing her with his debut, however, we have seen other finalists release before the winners and last year was an example of that. As far as Fuller, yes, he is managing both of them. I think I would get a headache if I had to figure out how to promote both of them at the same time. LOL

I don’t know how many people know about one of Blake’s best friends’ Cisco, but he was out by the buses too! We yelled his name, and he smiled (he looked shocked!) and waved.

It strikes me funny how many of Blake’s fans know who Cisco is. I can honestly say I don’t ever remember any previous AIs friends, but you know Cisco, Ethan, Kristi, not to mention all the different bands that he has introduced everyone to. Again, can’t say I ever remember another AI doing that while on the show. Just goes to show the power that is BShorty.

Also, I’m glad they managed to get Jordin’s single out before her album this time around…but is an August release expected to carry her buzz till November? I could’ve sworn J mentioned a 2nd single before the album. Let’s see 19 pull this one off, lol.

I guess the timelines are screwed…if J’s single releases first it only makes sense her album releases first too…

Exactly! This way no one will think Blake is being promoted before or more than Jordin. This way he could keep 11/20 and her album could come out a week earlier and B could cash in on the Thanksgiving sales:D

Donna All City also said this in so many words too. She didn’t see were Jordin’s 8/27 debut would have have anything to do with Blake’s press release and I don’t either. We do know that the longer this goes on that people will begin to suspect that there is no Sony/BMG deal for Blake. If the press release would just come out then it would end all speculation.

Perhaps there was no “okay you go talk about your release date being on 11/20″ conversation. Perhaps it was simply discussed and not decided upon. Plus, any smart person in the music industry knows that if a cd is going to be released in the fall, the prime date to aim for is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving so they can get those Black Friday sales. That’s just good business.

Why would the NY Post write that? He also seems so sure when talking abut his label in the latest Toronto interview.

I can’t tell you how many articles I read that have errors in them. Unfortunately, not every fact-checker does a thorough job in their research and mistakes are made all the time.

… As I am also not holding on to November 20 as a release date for EITHER of them, no matter how many times they say it. Daughtry and Kellie kept their original release dates last year because they worked their asses off on tour. I know Blake and Jordin have been working, but there hasn’t seemed to be as much urgency this time as there was last year for Chris and Kellie.

Taylor’s release date was pushed back at least twice, maybe three times, and Katharine’s was pushed back 4 or 5, maybe even 6. They were both originally scheduled to release on November 14. Those dates change all. the. time.

I’m so glad to hear you say that. There are some over there at TWOP who are convinced this guy is a credible source because he is supposedly linked to the industry. This is what I was told earlier by Donna All City:

here’s the thing..of course a press release makes something official, but often these things such as label stuff and signings spread around the industry. Like you can be sure people at Billboard and others connected to the industry aren’t sitting around waiting for a press release. PR’s are mainly for the general public. If he who wrote the NY Post article (who does write for Billboard) is accurate when he says Blake actually signed last month I tend to think this news has actually been out and about amongst some in the industry and he has something to go by.

I’m still skeptical about the J/Arista label and the signing until we hear something from Billboard, from Blake, or actually see the fine print.

I’d bet more money on Arista than RCA at this point, although I don’t really care.

As for the timing, I think Blake recorded a lot more songs b/n the tour and the show than Daughtry. In fact, I know Kellie did too. I think it’s because Chris had a lot of songs to review and yes, he did work his butt off, but I can still see a November release for Blake IF production goes quickly.

Last year, Chris Daughtry was said to be co-writing with a lot of different people, whose songs never ended up on the album (hello Rob Thomas, Ed Kowalcyzk, and Carl Bell!). Same with Taylor (the John Mayer collab, anyone?). I don’t think they just record 12 songs and say “okay, here’s the album”…

Jordin is so much better than that song, but then again that’s JMHO. Maybe the song will be a hit. Who knows.
Sounds like all the other pop girls out there, Hillary Duff, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan. Heh. Nothing unique. But only time will tell. I think it will be a Kat type of record. Not good.

Now I am more ready than ever for Blake’s music.

We feel like more than ever that B truly knows what he’s doing even though we don’t know everything when it comes to contracts and label negotiations. Jive has truly got Jordin right where they want her now and I can truly say this song is not what people expected of her at all.

It will go over well with her market. The tweens and young girls love her and this song sounds like it could go right onto a HSM or Hannah Montana soundtrack. They’ll eat it up. Outside of that, I dunno. But this was 100% the right direction for her to go in, for the short term.
