Indeed! In fact yesterday, in the latest news concerning the writers strike as far as the talk shows were concerned, they said to get used to not seeing a monologue and the usual skits (Leno), but get used to seeing a lot of guests filling up those chairs! LOL So, this is awesome for Blake!

I personally am loving Blake being on my TeeVee, and the mores the better. I like it all. I blame his engaging personality. Soon, the rest of the world will be converted by that sweet smile and sideways charm. I almost pity them…almost! hah!;-)

I DO see potential for Blake doing well overseas though, especially in Europe and Asia.

I stole this from another thread downstream, but it bears a good question. I thought I saw on LJ that a girl from another country already saw it was in at the local Borders Book store. When it does hit the other countries, I think it will be a new wave. Tsunami, I hope.

Pam– you know what I hope happens? Less of the silly skits, more and better interviews–and maybe some Amateur Comedians! They could do more like that, bringing in ammie movie shorts, or skits like on Funny or Die. SNL type humor, submitted by ammies is win-win for Everybody! There are a ton of young film students and comics that would love to get a chance at some air time like that.

I was kind of shocked we are seeing the Kimmel reschedule date so quickly after the announcement was made official on Tuesday. I’m really impressed too!

speakergirl when i bought my sister a copy this weekend at target it was already back to retail ($14.99)…couldn’t say about walmart though.

Does anyone know what the retail prices are on A.D.D. at the big stores this week? If I go to Wal-Mart to pick up a couple more is it still $9.99?

When I got my last one at WalMart about a week ago, it was back up to $15 as well. Maybe the $9.99 is just promo for opening weeks? Who knows though, with Xmas being so close, some of these places might be having sales.

Me too. Especially because the really diehard fans of the shows will definitely be tuning in once they come off of reruns. As well as other people who may just be tuning in to see how the hosts handle it without their monologues and skits.

Doxology opened and did a bang up job. I personally didn’t know one song they did, but they sounded respectable and I rather enjoyed their music.

Next MobLaw took over with their music, not bad, but not my favorite type. A few of the songs I rather liked and the beats were good. They do a mix of kind of a rap and rock mix. Being half deaf doesn’t help when it comes to hearing the lyrics. They recieved a good reception from the young crowd.

Oh, the place was sold out and was very well managed. The bars were opened but the minors were free to roam on the floor, so it was really a great venue. D and I were there to see Dire Straits in “1980″ and neither of us could remember it being that big. Capacity 1200. She says we may have had too much to drink. I claim dementia and just don’t remember.

So then it was the ADD and Bshorty, shibby Blake Lewis. I am going to make this short. They rocked out. Started with Silence is golden, special edition. Did all the songs and mixed up the order great. I think HMW and HMH were great hits. “End of the world” really blew me away live.. It was really better watching him (them) perform it than listening to the recording. The band is getting tuned in and harmonies are getting better every performance. I think when the tour is underway they will be tight…….with a big T. They ended with Break anotha and killed it. I was surprised that by the end of the show they still had awesome energy.

I wish you were all there. The venue size really made this an excellent show. I am thinking there should be some excellent reviews in tomorrows paper…

Also glad to read that HMW, HMH, and EotW were great live and well-recieved. Plus that the harmonies are getting better, and the band is getting tight. I just can’t wait to see ADD live. It was incredible just seeing B and KJ at Jingle Jam in Memphis.

As blossom said, “Have fun with your boy.” It was clear on the TRL appearance clip (among others) that Blake was excited to be going home to Seatown and Mom and Dad for the holidays. Some of the most endearing moments for me on AI were seeing Blake with his folks after he popped out of the audition room with his ticket to Vegas, his sweet (and teary for me, and probably all!) return-trip to Bothell before the finale, and the moment when I saw that proud pappa on stage with his son. Or even the quick little shout-outs, “I love you, Momma!” “I love you, Daddy.” It’s refreshing to see a cool and hip musician so sweet and respectful to his parents. Just another thing we love about this complex guy.

Ah, what a nice little “happy” for all of us the Friday before Christmas. Season’s greetings to all.

Thank you SO MUCH for coming here and letting all of us know how the show went. We all wish we could have been there!!! I love that the venue held only 1200 people or so - I would love to see Blake in such an intimate setting.

Thanks for including Doxology and The Mob Law in your review. I really like both bands, and I am so happy they are getting a bit of exposure because of Blake. I admit I didn’t know them before, but checked them out when Blake kept mentioning them. I’ve been enjoying their music for a few months now, all thanks to Blake.

I was happy to hear that HMH and EOTW were so great live. It must be so great to hear those songs live as oppose to the album. Don’t get me wrong, the album is great… But hearing the songs in a live setting, by an artist that thrive on stage… That’s priceless and unique and wonderful. I cannot wait to see Blake and the band live. I probably will have to travel - not holding any illusions that Canada won’t be first on the list of places to play - but I will for Blake.

The reason you are still seeing the up arrow on that chart is because they are comparing this week’s rank to where he was this time last week and so naturally based on that you are seeing an “up” arrow. The song has encountered spin loss before of not really any significant consequence and has bounced back. So, this really isn’t the first time this has happened.

The reason they aren’t on the chart is because they only include albums with at least 5 spins on the radio from any song on the CD. I highly doubt those albums are getting airplay on Mainstream Top40.

It’s been great that B has been so supportive of the local music scene and helping to get exposure for them. In a world of “me, me, me,” that is so refreshing to see such generosity. Yes, I noticed his was the lowest gain, but a gain nonetheless. He just has to bust into those major markets… When I was looking at this chart several days ago there were some negatives. :o( But, I suspect numbers will continue to increase over the next few days, especially with the last weekend before Christmas.
