Next Project?

I’m still loving ADD (well, not the album cover - sorry Blake), but it’s never too early to speculate on what Blake may do next. He’s been fortunate to work with some fabulous artists in the music business… BT, Ryan Tedder, Doug E Fresh, Lupe Fiasco, to name a few. Let’s not forget his homies in ADD and all the Seattle bands that have influenced him. So what would you like to see next? More hip hop? More electronica? Who would you like to see him work with? What about producer!Blake? Discuss and vote in the poll!

What about any tours or concerts? :)

Are you kidding me??? Shut the fuck up, dont even talk about a new project for at least another year. This album just came out four fuckin months ago you idiots. You wanna know what the next project should be? Blakes fans getting off their asses and promoting him, that should be the next project.

Since I’ve heard Blake mention Sting on occasion, I had to add him to the poll and well because I guess I would love to see them do a duet. :D

Our job is to buy his records, which we’ve done. It’s the label’s job to promote him. We’re just trying to have a little fun here. Chill or I’ll delete your posts, especially if you keep attacking. That’s against the rules.

Want to help Blake? See the Help Blake tab.

ETA: Or better yet, go start your own blog and quit telling us what to post. We support Blake by keeping this site active and trying to encourage a fun, supportive atmosphere. Besides, Blake is uber talented and very capable of multi-tasking. /rant.

That would be cool, Pam. I was just being silly about Willie Nelson, btw, but you never know! With Bshorty it might turn out cool. LOL.

  6. 6 Pam Apr 21st, 2008 at 7:48 pm

    pj,

I’ll admit I got a little chuckle out of that for a second. LOL Actually, I don’t think it’s silly at all to be honest. The two of them could possibly take one of his old hits and put a contemporary vibe to it. :)

Where did that Bshorty2 post come from? That was totally obnoxious.

I LOVE Imogen Heap and I’ve heard B say he does as well. Great choice to include her! They would sound awesome together!

    Cool, Star!

No one’s voting for poor Bjork. Maybe she and Blake could duet wearing matching Swan Dresses?

I honestly would like to see him own a label. I think he has mad skills in arranging and producing and I think that’s where his future is the brightest. I would still love to hear him do his own stuff and do some duets/joint projects, though cause I do love the boys voice and musical skills as well.

I think I’ve seen a picture of Blake with Imogen Heap-yes, I saw lots of pictures when I was trying to complete the scavenger hunt. I would totally love to see them perform together. Of course, the Adam Levine collaberation has a high probability of melting me into a puddle of fangirly goo. :D

Hola everybody! Just droppin’ in real quick before I head to bed (East Coast) I’m been promoting Blake as much as I could today and it seems to have paid off, for for the first time at my local radio station, they have put Blake on the request form. (Though I’ve still failed to hear it on there.)
    Night night! =)

I voted for Adam levine!!! I loved Maroon 5 since I was about 6!!! (yup 7 years of being a fan they started their band in 2001!) I’d love Blake to work with Adam!!! That’d be the best thing ever!!!

  15. 15 Kasia Apr 21st, 2008 at 9:52 pm

    Homeskillet,
    Bravo for the efforts.

I was trying to think about an additional name for possible collaborator, and there are a few female artists that I think would be great match for Blake. I think he would sound awesome with a female singer who has lower register and has more jazzy vibe, such as Fiona Apple or Jill Scott. I guess Bjork would fit somewhat in jazz influenced category. Anyone remembers Killing me softly with Melinda Doolittle during AI tour? I loved their duet.

    Kasia,

I think we all mourned the loss of KMS from the set list. lol Since I didn’t get to see any of the shows, seeing those vids were a real treat.

Speaking of KMS, here you go. :)

    Thank you Pam,

Yes, it brought nice memories. Lucky people who were able to hear it before they pulled it from the set. Their voices really complimented each other. I hear from time to time “Killing me softly” by Fugees on the radio and I always think about Blake and Melinda duet.

OMG. Thanks for the vdeo. BTW, did anyone else notice the package from 1:18 on. Just sayin’

And to return the favor, though it isn’t Blake. Here’s a bit on the beatboxing convention in England.

Bjork! I am an avid crazy fan of Bjork! I’ve listened to her since I was 7. And I am an avid crazy Blake fan. They would make some crazy contemporary and meaningful tracks. That would be my dream..
Have you all seen the new video for Bjork’s “Wanderlust” its so innovative and bizarre! I just live for it! Just imagine what those two could do together! OMG..

  21. 21 Bully Apr 21st, 2008 at 11:26 pm

Of course, the Adam Levine collaberation has a high probability of melting me into a puddle of fangirly goo. :D

My, yes. That was my vote, but there are some interesting others too. Annie Lennox. Sting, for producing, and helping find materials for Blake. I still would love a whole Bt/Blake collaboration, even tho it’s only been 4mos since the album came out…Mmm.

The Willie Nelson idea–heh, but you know? That could actually be good! He writes in just Blake’s tone, too. Wouldn’t that be delicious?

KMS– ah yes. Much mourned for, and still spoken of in fervored whispers. He was not afraid to use his mojo on her, and it was hot.

  22. 22 Pam Apr 21st, 2008 at 11:47 pm

    Bully,

Now why didn’t I think of Anne Lennox? She should be added to the poll. :D

He was not afraid to use his mojo on her, and it was hot.

That is for sure. It was smokin’ hot. :D

  23. 23 Crystal J. Apr 21st, 2008 at 11:56 pm

Ohhh. Annie Lennox is good. Someone should write her in!

  24. 24 dani Apr 22nd, 2008 at 12:46 am

ugg…. I should have written in david archuleta (I know the chances of that’s impossible but still I ‘d like that if they did!!!

Anyone has any idea why KMS was cut off the set list for tour, at the subsequent shows?

Anyway, idk if anyone saw Kristi’s bulletin on MySpace. But if not, here:

    hey blakers!

i know i haven’t been around much lately, but i’m alive, i promise! i’ve just been very busy with work (we’re opening a new salon at dulles airport near washington dc on friday!).

now, to the important stuff! blake is going to be filming at “Northwest Afternoon” tomorrow! i just got a call from someone over there who would love to have blaker girls in the audience. they’d like to get as many fans as possible into the studio. tickets are FREE but are limited.

please call Nemesia 253-347-3670 if you’d like to go. Please do not call and bug her if you’re not planning on going. that is her cell phone and i do not want to have people harrassing her.

    :)

if you can go, here’s the scoop:

Be at the Fisher Plaza Building (across from the Space Needle) at 9AM.

    140 4th Ave North
    Seattle, WA

Filming begins at 10am and ends around 11am. There is street and lot parking nearby but you have to pay (not too much, though).

Most importantly, WEAR YOUR BLAKER GIRL & BOY GEAR!

Please post a comment to this bulletin if you’re planning on going so i have an idea of how many people are going to be there.

I watched the KMS vid again, and —oh. The velvety voice at 1:33! It just melts me.(not JUST me, I know!) It can be hard to explain to a cool guy like Blake just why it is, that is so much better than he thinks!
    *sigh*

The Bulletin from Kristi reminds me– we do not have a PO Box to send things to Blake, anymore. The Xmas card etc just came back YESTERDAY I sent beginning of Dec. Yes, really! I couldn’t believe it would take so long to be returned, either.
It was nice having the Blaker Girls to run in-between for us, but I guess it just shows Idol days are gone. You know, I AM still curious at the amount of mail that Kristi had to take in last summer. I always had this vision of like a PILE, a MOUNTAIN of letters and cards and boxes in a living room corner somewhere. I wonder if anyone ever took a pic of that?! heh!:-)

  27. 27 Christina Apr 22nd, 2008 at 9:07 am

I personally would love to see him do something…even if its just one song…but…PRINCE!

  28. 28 Bully Apr 22nd, 2008 at 9:14 am

OOoo! Good one Christina! Wow. Prince producing, and helping craft songs? MMmmmmmmm. I was listening to RaspberryBeret on the radio just the other day, thinking how well-crafted Princes songs are too.

  29. 29 Bouffe Apr 22nd, 2008 at 11:58 am

    Weeeeeeee! My poll idea! Cool.

As far as collab, I’d love to see him write more with Ryan Tedder. I know he did for many songs on ADD, but I’d love for Blake to go more in more of a 1R/Maroon 5/Robin Thicke direction with Tedder. I didn’t add him to the poll tho, since Blake already worked with him. I voted Imogen Heap, or something similar (Fiona Apple), because I also really love the etheral kind of singing he sometimes does.

But most of all, I’d love Blake to do his own thing, as in what we’ve gotten to know of him through Emotional Waterfall, She Loves The Way and other such jazzy songs.

KMS - *sniff* I would have love to see him perform that! I love that he does the “1 time, 2 times” with his fingers when it comes up. :)

Wow. This is such a hard decision. xD
