Thanks for posting the video. I wasn’t able to DVR it. Wow! Blake sure knows how to bring it at the important shows! Sounds like the audience enjoyed it too. I can’t wait till the talk shows.

New Blake paparazzi video, with KJ & Haley, from NYE….he’s tactless, and it’s great! I find it refreshing that he doesn’t censor himself, and doesn’t try to be someone that he’s not.

While its true, I hate how it gives the haters some fuel to say what a horrible person he is.

  4. 104 pj Jan 3rd, 2008 at 12:20 am

I’m not a hater (obviously) and I didn’t like it so much. It’s just not a good idea for him to be doing that on camera unless its part of a skit or something. And it wasn’t funny, either. That might have made it better. Those sorts of comments are better left in private within a circle of friends, IMO, especially for an artist coming off AI and trying to establish himself. Will it hurt him? Prolly not much.

  5. 105 Pam Jan 3rd, 2008 at 12:30 am

I have to say I agree with pj. More established artists have done and said much worse and they go on to sell tons of albums. Blake is just getting started and still has to prove himself. I kind of hate to see things like that in some ways for the very reasons melissa and pj stated. I like that Blake stays true to himself. Like pj said, it may not hurt him much right now, but the more it continues, it kinda adds fuel to the fire so to speak for the haters to come out of the woodworks and in some cases it can turn a select few people off that may have planned to buy the CD.

  6. 106 Nic Jan 3rd, 2008 at 12:39 am

Well, it WAS New Year’s and since alot of people were drinking that night, I’m sure ALOT worst was said and done than what Blake did! LOL. Normally I would agree that he should probably watch what he says, but given it was NYE…. eh, I can’t get on his case too much this time.

I suspect those who are bashing him for this video are the same ones who have been bashing him from day one too.

Having said that, he MAY want to be a *little* more careful in what he says on camera in the future just in case he DOES turn off potential fans from buying his CD. The “titties in your mouth” stuff doesn’t personally offend me but then I’m a pretty easy-going person. Not everyone is.

By the way, wouldn’t his PR guy or record label tell him not to say this if it was that concerning to them?

  7. 107 Pam Jan 3rd, 2008 at 12:51 am

    Nic,

I see totally where you are coming from. I don’t think most of the diehard fans will really be upset about it either. What happened New Years didn’t offend me in the least because I saw it as him being himself for the most part. I don’t think some folks who haven’t seen Blake on TV since idol really realize that this is who Blake is as far as the NYE telecast goes. I hate those glasses got broken. LOL

  8. 108 pj Jan 3rd, 2008 at 12:58 am

I’m not really uptight, but I do think there’s a time and place for everything. If a phrase like that is funny to you and your friends, cool. Keep it there. I have my own catch phrases that I know might offend some. I keep them in context.

I doubt his PR guys care. Like I said, it won’t hurt him in the long run. I just find it uncomfortable.

He’s no Keith Richards, who claimed he smoked his dad’s ashes or something. Of course, he later retracted that.

Oh, and didn’t Adam Levine say some tennis girl was terrible in the sack?

Some things are just TMI. And you just come off as an A-hole.

    Happy New Year !
I’ve been out for a week, had a lovely time in Disneyland with my family.
Anywyays, thanks so much for the NYE video, I missed it so it was nice to see it here. Blake did a great show, very energetic as usual. I just think BA is more of a performance song rather than a HIT. I am not keeping my hopes up that this single will break through. It looks like its’ going down on the charts. Hopefully the second single will do it for him, I would hate to see a good record go down the drain so quick.
Anywyas, regarding the TMZ video, honestly I did not like it. I really think Blake should at least try to control himself sometimes, it may affect him it may not, but why risk it? I know he is tactless and bla, bla, bla, but sometimes it’s just too much. It can haunt him later in his career, was he drunk? Probably.

  10. 110 Lisa Jan 3rd, 2008 at 11:54 am

His publicist was right next to him in that TMZ footage - the blonde guy. Everyone views things differently, but I thought it looked like he was trying to get Blake away from the cameras, he probably saw at that point he was drunk and rambling. Also, just to add I loved the actual performance on NYE but I thought his demeanor during the interview and countdown was a bit OTT.

  11. 111 Pam Jan 3rd, 2008 at 12:37 pm

There were some photos posted from the Blakergirls myspace this morning from the Showbox. Since everyone doesn’t have myspace, you can see them here on my photobucket page. Thery are the first 24 pics. :).

I have to agree with Lisa on this one. Loved the performance, other stuff not so much. Did not care for the video that came from tmz. I do agree that it will proably not hurt him, I wouldn’t have even seen that video if it wasn’t for this site. With that being said, the last thing he want’s to do at this point is turn off any potential fans. Again, just MO.

    Thanks for the photo’s Pam:)

  13. 113 Pam Jan 3rd, 2008 at 1:19 pm

    Thanks for the photo’s Pam:)

Your welcome Anne and I do agree that turning off potential fans is a no no. I’m not upset with Blake or anything, but that’s just MO too. lol

  14. 114 Nic Jan 3rd, 2008 at 2:32 pm

Well, I mostly didn’t care that much this time because of the social context (New Year’s Eve). Half of NYC was probably drunk and rambling, lol. Otherwise, I do agree that he might want to tone it down a little bit when a camera is on him. Ya’ know, like the Forbes interview?? I’d love to see that side of him more often, to be honest, The hyper-dork stuff is fine but in small doses. ;)

  15. 115 Kilroy Jan 3rd, 2008 at 4:46 pm

I’m actually puzzled by what he said in the TMZ video. The audio was bad. So he said the “titties in your mouf” thing, echoed by KJ it seemed, and called someone (who?) a douchebag. I just think it’s weird for TMZ to post it, it’s such a non-event. I would have thought they’d try to spin the Haley angle (true or not) but they’ve left that alone.

Agreed with others that his performance was great, energetic, controlled. When he was spazzing out all over the place, however, Cat Deeley, Jordin and the Spike guy actually looked uncomfortable but B was more hyper than an ass I think.

I still think one performance during AI7 will do more to boost sales (will be perplexed if he’s not invited) than three late night talk shows, but the timing’s great. People are watching the late night shows more now precisely bc they were off the air.

  16. 116 Nic Jan 3rd, 2008 at 5:19 pm

    Kilroy,

someone on the TMZ site posted that it sounds like Blake said some GUY CALLED HIM a douchebag, and he didn’t “even know him”. That actually makes sense in a way considering the last part of his remark (and the way that some folks irrationally hate B!).

Of course, most people probably assumed Blake was calling someone else a douchebag since you can’t even hear the beginning of what he said. :/

He might want to restrict the “T’s in your M” for his friend’s myspace pages at this rate, since it’s turning off some people.

Singing on Idol 7 would definitely help with exposure and CD sales, didn’t alot of those guest singers see an increase in sales after they sang on Idol last season? I think “How Many Words” would go over very well in that venue. :)

  17. 117 Pam Jan 3rd, 2008 at 6:54 pm

    Nic and Kilroy,

Coming back on AI I think would help boost Blake’s sales as well. It certainly wouldn’t hurt anything and it would be a great way to refresh the viewers memories so to speak and to let them know he has a CD out. I’m not counting on it, but I think it would be good. :)

  18. 118 DJ Jan 3rd, 2008 at 7:27 pm

Hi Guys… well I thought I would add my two cents… I have to agree with you ..I was a bit disappointed with the words being used in the tmz vid. I thought it looked like Blake was trying to keep the camera off Haley?…
I thought his performance was GREAT and the interview was cute…he seemed a bit nervous or something….when the ball dropped he was OTT…. but I loved it…I think he gets so excited he can’t contain himself sometimes???
Wonder which Blake Lewis will show up on Leno tomorrow night? I hope he has a great night…
I didn’t know there were Blake bashers…they must have girlfriends that are crazy for Blake or something…
According to his MySpace he hasn’t checked in since the 29th?.. that is unusual…must be busy…hope he is doing well..

  19. 119 Nic Jan 3rd, 2008 at 8:52 pm

    DJ,

unfortunately, there are ALOT of Blake haters :/. I think they would bash him no matter what he did though. It reminds me of Daughtry, so many hate him too.

Why do I always like the controversial boys??? ;)

I guess its better to be polarizing then too be forgetable.

    Throwing 2 cents out…

It looks like the bashers have had a field day with a 30-second video of a non-event. I agree with DJ’s observation that he was trying to keep the cameras off of Haley — somebody in the group stepped in front of her, too — plus he wasn’t particularly interested in talking with the paparazzi and he got called names. It didn’t seem to me like there was anything terribly outrageous about his behavior (his comment was a bit gratuitous but I’ve heard worse in middle-school hallways) and he didn’t appear to be a falling-down mess, either. He’s almost in a no-win situation sometimes — we are a society quick to judge.

  22. 122 Paula Jan 3rd, 2008 at 9:30 pm

Did you guys see the TMZ TV show yesterday? Thanks to the heads up from someone at IDF, who said they saw Blake’s name on the whiteboard, I was able to tape it when it was on at 4am here. Blake & Haley, as well as KJ, were on. They showed some more footage than what was shown on the TMZ website.

The show made it seem like Blake and Haley are dating. They asked Haley about the future with him, and she looked playfully at the camera and said, I don’t know, we’ll see what happens! And they showed Blake freaking her outside of a club, and he was all, WE’RE GETTING FRISKY!, and then he opened the door for her as they went inside. To finish the segment, they showed the “titties in your mouth” remark from him & KJ.

If my digital camera had a sound card, I’d make a ghetto copy and post it here, so you guys could see it.

  23. 123 Bully Jan 4th, 2008 at 12:04 am

I agree about the trying to keep the paps away from Haley, and Blake said, after the guy said something rude,”what a douchebag–I don’t even know him,” or something like that. That they showed it out of context like that, without the Haley part is wierd–I’m glad you saw it Paula! I’d be interested to see the whole bit. Maybe somebody has it…

and I don’t know HOW you were able to post, Paula, and NOT say,”Hah! I told you so!” about Blaley. :-D Good on you, girlie. I said it for you!

ITA, M4M. Something about that 33 seconds of footage on the TMZ website just reeks w/ being taken out of context.

  25. 125 Paula Jan 4th, 2008 at 12:33 am

Thanks, Bully! I guess maybe they’re trying to keep it under wraps or something for now, I don’t know, but we’ll see!

  26. 126 Nic Jan 4th, 2008 at 2:43 am

I agree about the trying to keep the paps away from Haley, and Blake said, after the guy said something rude,”what a douchebag–I don’t even know him,” or something like that

Since we didn’t see the full clip on the TMZ site, the “douchebag” comment now makes more sense if he DID call the guy one after the GUY WAS FIRST RUDE TO HIM.

    I love creative editing. :/

  27. 127 Bully Jan 4th, 2008 at 9:32 am

Yup Laura, Definitely looked like creative editing–it wasn’t even a whole conversation segment. It jumped from one place to another, and so yeah. It WAS in response to a guy being rude to him, first.

I think Blake does try to be polite, but that scene did look a bit wild and crowded. I’m cutting him slack on that whole deal. As was mentioned before tho–
WHY are the paps ignoring the fact he was there with a beautiful girl, and yet, we get coverage that he’s out with KJ from Perez??
    Stupid, to me.

  28. 128 Pam Jan 4th, 2008 at 10:36 am

I agree and what is sad the fact that fans and some non fans see that and automatically jump to conclusions. That is why I loathe TMZ.

  29. 129 Lisa Jan 4th, 2008 at 11:00 am

and yet, we get coverage that he’s out with KJ from Perez??

Because Perez has always thought he was gay. Perez does the same thing with other male celebrities he’s accused of being gay, he writes through his own gaydar filter. If Haley was more of a “name” celebrity there would probably be more gossip. People could barely remember her name while she was on AI. Being seen holding hands with Jordin got more coverage. I have no feelings on it at all - but considering Blake just admitted he’s a 31 Flavors kind of guy I guess she’s the flavor of the moment :laugh_tb:

  30. 130 Bouffe Jan 5th, 2008 at 12:22 am

Thanks for all the links everyone! I’m catching up after being away for the holidays, so it is great to come here and do that. Thanks!

  31. 131 Nic Jan 5th, 2008 at 4:20 pm

Perez definitely wants Blake for himself, and he tends to think almost every other male celebrity is gay. :P So no biggie, I’d take it with a grain of salt.

They were probably talking about KJ due to the matching hair, but I noticed some on that site speculated it was PHJ that could be his boy toy. When in doubt, blame the pink haired one? LOL.
