Okay, so about JBB. I live in Washington and I went to Jingle Bell Bash last year. It is not televised. So, JBB is a HUGE annual concert here in seattle where a few “KISS artists”, a.k.a. artists who have their songs played on KISS 106.1 FM, get to perform a few songs at the Tacoma Dome! So Blake will probably perform a few of his songs from A.D.D.! probably with his band! ohhh I’m so excited, I need to get these tickets. So, anyways, at JBB, there’s going to be, Sean Kingston, Jonas Brothers, Colbie Caillat, Timbaland w/ special guests OneRepublic, Keri Hilson, and Sabastian. And then Tuesday moring, Jackie & Bender, the main DJs, will announce the new artist that’s going to perform at JBB and that’s blake (but right now that’s a secret! haha). so if u wanna know more about this concert, go here: http://kbks.itmftp.com/JBB10/index.html

“Idol” has produced several terrific vocalists, but it hasn’t really yielded an artist as obsessed with sound as Lewis is. His singing on “Audio Day Dream” is fine; it gets the job done. Yet what arrests your ear are Lewis’ ideas. With any luck, he’ll get the opportunity to keep developing them.

This sums up what everyone has been saying, it’s not just about the singing, but the whole package. And that is Blake:)

Now back on subject the reviews seem to just get better and better I am so excited.

In an interview last week, Lewis said his goal was to make a record that reflected his live show, which he’s been performing since before his “Idol” stint and which features Lewis using a variety of pedals to construct intricate loops with which he accompanies himself. Yet what “Audio Day Dream” captures isn’t the spontaneity or the scrappiness of a concert.

Thanks for the review - how wonderful to have a person of obvious musical intelligence give a very respectable review to Blake.

I did have one question though. Was there an interview I missed last week? Was this published, or part of an interview the LA Times did to go along with this review? I was curious about the statement above in which the reviewer said that Blake wanted the album to reflect a concert. I’ve only ever read/heard B saying it would be your best mix tape, 2080’s and all that. Is it possible he was talking to the interviewer about how he got to do looping/effects in his concert and wanted to do that on the CD, and the reviewer misunderstood?

I like the article from the LA Times Alot! It is all largely positive, and the writewr seems to understand Blake is trying to communicate in more non-verbal form…maybe even more than I sometimes see– which fascinates the heck out of me, for someone to notate! :-D

dani, if some folks do not have this channel through their cable or satellite provider, then no they won’t be able to view it. That’s basically what Star was saying a few posts above you which is probably on page 2 of this thread.

If you have directv, you will find the fuse on channel 339. Oh and dani as far as the channel thing goes for directv, some people buy certain packages that will only carry certain channels and so depending on what package a person buys depends on which channels they can pick up on their tv and the same thing goes for some of the other satellite companies too.

I’m definitely hoping that someone will be able to cap and post all Blake’s appearances on cable channels, because I currently don’t have anything but my local channels. Dish Network/DirecTV is on my Christmas List, but until then I dunno if I’ll be getting it.

Back to the current topic: Yay about the LA Times review! Such a great first review for Blake! Oh, and I’m SO excited to be getting new Blake stuff through my TV! :-D

IMO, if you have a MS page, you are better off downloading the ringtone from Blake’s page because it could very well be a scam.

I’ve been happy for it to get airplay in my area, but at the same time I know it is a very small market. One of the DJ’s told me their playlist is created by media advisors, who base on play in large cities and nationwide. So if it isn’t getting that play…. Luckily, they got it into the Bump It or Dump it segment and it’s been played on occasion since. And, the other station in town has also played it a few times (possibly a KISS affiliate since they have a nearly identical homepage).

FYI: Z100 has started playing Jordin’s duet with Chris Brown. They gave it 10 spins this week. Those 10 spins gave the song an audience impression of 883,000. The 321 spins that BA received on small market top 40 stations this week have an audience impression of 856,000. She is reaching more people through one station than he is through 32 stations. I still don’t understand why they are taking so long in introducing him to major markets. Tattoo and all of its blandness were immediately put into rotation on Z100, KIIS LA and other major markets before its official add date (consistently gaining in airplay despite never being listed among the most requested songs). It’s like tying someone’s feet together and telling them to run a marathon. It doesn’t seem fair to me but I am still hoping for the best.

Sherry I saw where they played No Air on Z100, and like you I do not understand why BA is still not being played on other major markets. I really do not understand why it still is not getting played on KIIS LA. I’m hoping that the radio promo’s that Blake will be doing will be with bigger radio stations. His audience impressions numbers need to go way up. Still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best:)

If you look at the Mediabase #’s for the song, it’s not doing that badly at all. Lisa basically told us in plain English last week that when the song went for “Adds” that we were not going to hear it on every single station right away, and she was correct. I know the i-Tunes #’s are low, but I do believe it’s for the reasons that I stated in my first paragraph. Different labels handle marketing differently also.
