Lewis will make TV appearances throughout December, including on MTV’s “TRL” and Fuse, as well as visiting major-market radio shows. The label is planning an equally heavy Internet advertising blitz along with special editions of the album for iTunes and Wal-Mart — the latter of which will feature a 17-minute video special about Lewis’ career and the making of “Audio Day Dream.”

dani, if some folks do not have this channel through their cable or satellite provider, then no they won’t be able to view it. That’s basically what Star was saying a few posts above you which is probably on page 2 of this thread.
Pam do you know what channel area the Fuse would be in so I can find it easier so I can record it (thank god for DVR!!!)

If you have directv, you will find the fuse on channel 339. Oh and dani as far as the channel thing goes for directv, some people buy certain packages that will only carry certain channels and so depending on what package a person buys depends on which channels they can pick up on their tv and the same thing goes for some of the other satellite companies too.
So do you guys think Blake will make an appearance on Ellen? That’s the show I want to see him on the most. I think those two would be a riot together, heeee. I can’t wait ’till we find out more about all his promo!

I’m definitely hoping that someone will be able to cap and post all Blake’s appearances on cable channels, because I currently don’t have anything but my local channels. Dish Network/DirecTV is on my Christmas List, but until then I dunno if I’ll be getting it.
I maybe can do recaps but not post video cuz I don’t know how and it’d be really confusing… Did blake like perform his whole cd at the LG event or something???

Very happy to see the promotion schedule is starting to take shape. I am also happy to report that I finally heard BA on the radio today (Q92 in Canton, OH). I hope that the major market radio promos mean that those major markets will begin playing Blake’s music. His sales are not good right now and won’t be good without getting larger audience impressions. It’s hard to expect people to download someone’s songs if they have never heard of them.
FYI: Z100 has started playing Jordin’s duet with Chris Brown. They gave it 10 spins this week. Those 10 spins gave the song an audience impression of 883,000. The 321 spins that BA received on small market top 40 stations this week have an audience impression of 856,000. She is reaching more people through one station than he is through 32 stations. I still don’t understand why they are taking so long in introducing him to major markets. Tattoo and all of its blandness were immediately put into rotation on Z100, KIIS LA and other major markets before its official add date (consistently gaining in airplay despite never being listed among the most requested songs). It’s like tying someone’s feet together and telling them to run a marathon. It doesn’t seem fair to me but I am still hoping for the best.
Wow, Sherry, that really is a pointed comparison. I just have to figure that this is all part of the strategy. It is interesting to ponder. I certainly don’t know much about the business. I’d be curious to know if this approach (to small markets first) happens with any other songs.
I’ve been happy for it to get airplay in my area, but at the same time I know it is a very small market. One of the DJ’s told me their playlist is created by media advisors, who base on play in large cities and nationwide. So if it isn’t getting that play…. Luckily, they got it into the Bump It or Dump it segment and it’s been played on occasion since. And, the other station in town has also played it a few times (possibly a KISS affiliate since they have a nearly identical homepage).
Sherry I saw where they played No Air on Z100, and like you I do not understand why BA is still not being played on other major markets. I really do not understand why it still is not getting played on KIIS LA. I’m hoping that the radio promo’s that Blake will be doing will be with bigger radio stations. His audience impressions numbers need to go way up. Still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best:)
What most people have to remember is that “Tattoo” came out on 8/27 and that was almost 3 months ago. When BA went to i-Tunes on 11/13 it did not get front page placement there and some people are just now beginning to find out it’s even there. There are some people who still haven’t heard “Tattoo” on their local stations much less BA. The big push to get BA to radio didn’t occur until last Tuesday. Jordin is naturally getting more exposure because she is the winner. I too don’t understand the label’s marketing strategy but I don’t understand everything about the business either so I really can’t get worked up about it at this point.

If you look at the Mediabase #’s for the song, it’s not doing that badly at all. Lisa basically told us in plain English last week that when the song went for “Adds” that we were not going to hear it on every single station right away, and she was correct. I know the i-Tunes #’s are low, but I do believe it’s for the reasons that I stated in my first paragraph. Different labels handle marketing differently also.
Me neither. I mean, it’s about time. I don’t like those I-Tune sales.
The song is doing well on Mediabase though. Hmmmm. I really hope those major market radio interviews start this week. The sooner the better, I just feel sometimes that Blake’s promo is all very hushhh and people are not aware of what he has put out.
He needs that extra push so that a new audience can discover his new music. Just saying, Arista. I hope they really push his single and record.

I’d wager a guess and say “No Air” is getting airplay because of Chris Brown, not Jordin. It will help her no doubt but the Chris Brown name is what will help the song.
I’m actually pissed off that Jordin’s “No Air” is already getting spins on Z100, but Blake’s single isn’t? WTF?? I can see if they were playing “Tattoo” and not B’s song, but why her rumored SECOND single?
It does look like the label is going push Jordin right now to ensure that she gets airplay and sells CD’s. And I personally feel it goes back to proving she ‘deserved’ to win, after the controversy about Taylor in Season 5. So, as a consequence, Blake will have to wait his turn.
Well, I have to guess the label is going for the larger market stations with his promos. I’m sure they know what they are doing, since it’s in their own best interest too. But, I was just curious about the strategy of playing in the smaller markets first. Part of the slow build-up while they waited for album reviews and the like to come out?

Hello! We’re getting closer and closer to ADD day, maybe we’ll hear BA on the radios more frequently then? I still haven’t heard him here in Chicago, but I got closer last time I called in when the DJ had actually HEARD of the song and said he MIGHT play it.
Also, about the ringtone, I tried to get it off Blake’s page, but it didn’t work. However, I was able to download it from Sony Music Box on my Verizon phone…I actually have Whatchya Got 2 Lose right now as my ringtone.
