I love his blogs. They’re genuine, and give us an honest look into what he’s thinking and feeling at the moment.
Poor B., worn out from the long radio tour. I really want HMW to get played on the radio. I want it to be a succcess for him. Especially since it’s a personal song that he feels strongly about. I felt a little sad when he mentioned the failure of Break Anotha. Here’s hoping that HMW catches on.
I’m happy though that he’s so excited about the WMC. Nothing better than having B, KJ, and BT all sharing a stage. :) And yay for the mention of a tour, and the promise of more updates!
Very endearing note from Blake. The first part of the blog made me reflect a little bit on what he wrote. Not too many people would be upfront to talk about “failure” of the single. Like with other things, he just calls like it is, embraces it, and is ready to move on. Good for him.
I hope the festival will be really “dream come true” experience for Blake and will energize him. I am dying to see this combination of How many words and Move on. I hope something will surface on youtube. It will be also good exposure for Blake - 20 thousand people with two fabulous musicians.
What a genuine, honest, endearing person he is! I knew it from the start and it’s why I’m so crazy about this boy. Actually, I think we’ve watched the boy truly become a man. I hope he has it all and his every dream comes true. I know we’ll be rooting for him every step of the way!
Blake added GMA to his myspace calendar, 4/2!
YAY for GMA! I shall be there. =D
And the blog, oh my gosh. I must admit I got a little choked up. That was so raw, it was great to see this side of him. I feel like I got a peek into the inner workings of his mind. I loved just seeing his rambling and stuff. Awesome. :)
I was so happy when I heard he would be playing with BT - that is great exposure.
That blog was just, well…I really just want to give him a hug.
Kasia you are so right. It really made me sad for him reading that first part, but then the last part of the blog seemed more positive. I really hope HMW receives some love.
That blog was truly touching. It almost made me cry too because we all know too well how BA faired on the radio but to read the last part of it and see how determined he is to have success makes me very proud of him.
Since we are talking about HMW, here is the morning Mediabase report.
#73 is the highest the song has been so far. :)
Hmmm.. posted a reply to him, kinda really hoping he reads it and takes it to heart. I do truly love that he is honest and I don’t want him forcefed what to say now or in his future, but I can honestly see that coming if he doesn’t tame his tongue just a tad.
Though I truly doubt that would be adhered to on his side.
Ok, I totally don’t know if I spelled that right..LOL.
Come on B-fans. Let’s make a pact. Everyone call at least three radio stations every day….until you get through and actually talk to a DJ and request the song. It doesn’t have to be the same stations, just make sure you do three.
If everyone does three a day, we can build this song from here. Get your Blake-loving friends to sign on as well.
FYI; You DO NOT need to be in the listening area to call a station. If the station is on the internet, they want you to listen too and it shows up in their numbers, so calling a Texas station from Toronto is TOTALLY fine. Don’t contradict me on this. I’ve been in the music business. I have friends in the music business, just not on stations that would be playing Blake’s kind of music unfortunately. TRUST ME ON THIS. They actually like to hear from peoople out of their listening area. It’s growth and EVERY radio station thrives on growth. Rule of thumb…if they have a listen live button on their website, they will welcome out of area requests. Just make sure you say something like, “I listen to you on the web every day.” or something like that.
This is especially true for morning shows, just make sure it’s a morning show that actually plays music. If they are all talk, you are wasting a call and they will not play the song. Morning shows that play music are the best ones to call. A stations morning show is the biggest draw in most areas and has the largest listening audience. We want the song heard…only then will we know if it will make or break.
Ok, blakers….man your stations. Let’s attack!!!
Yay for GMA!
Sorry, just had to throw that in there. :D
Hey, anyone else notice he dropped the band from his top members on MS? That sucks.
newduck,
He didn’t drop them from his top friends actually. They are still there but he has done some shuffling around.
It was so good to hear from him– and at a perfect time, too. All this unrequited love and devotion is exhausting! :-)
His tone was such, it made my heart ache, honestly. I just want to hug him. Dammitt, I’d rather have him be honest and feel good about himself, than peas-and-carrots his way thru his interviews. Goodness knows, we all appreciate him just as he is.
More politeness wouldn’t hurt him, but goshdarnit…I can’t blame him at all for simply wanting to be himself.*Hugs Him*
Bully,
I agree, but I’m glad he doesn’t want to be a fake either. :)
That blog from Blake is going to get me all emotional, man oh man.I see how stressful this whole radio tour can be. I hope things pick up but at least Blake is getting to do what he loves, his music. We still love ya Blake with all your honesty.
Thanks for the GMA news, Star! I’ll be out of town, but hopefully someone will cap it!
The thing is, he is being fake to a certain degree. Yes, we all know Sanjaya wasn’t that great and lasted longer than he should. But so did Haley. And so did Chris Rich. The fact that he is selective in who he criticizes or what he says kind of distracts from the honesty thing. Let’s face it, Sanjaya is an easy target.
The problem with the whole Sanjaya thing is that everyone wants to talk about him because he was shoved down our thoughts last season. It’s all good, I have no problem we the kid, he was a novelty and fun to watch.
I don’t if Blake really posted this message on rickey’s site but here is the link and it sounds like he like Eze and David C. and he wants David A. to challenge himself more. Don’t worry Blake we are still here for ya.

hummus, I haven’t heard him say anything about Sanjaya unless he was asked - and I have never heard him being asked about Haley or Chris Rich.
Hummus, I disagree. I think Blake honestly thinks Haley & Chris are more talented than Sanjaya (just his opinion). I don’t think he’s being fake at all. And Blake obviously thinks Chris Rich is very talented or he wouldn’t have had him on his CD.
I don’t think Sanjaya has much singing talent, and it is a shame how the media made him the focal point of last season so much. Other than Crying Girl, his ponyhawk, and several crappy performances with a couple passable ones sprinkled in, I’m not sure what Sanjaya has accomplished other than the ‘Worst’ name tag. When other Idols do promo appearances, I’d assume they get sick of being asked about Sanjaya all the time. JMHO, the media exposure he got was above and beyond his skill level.
I couldn’t have said it any better myself Nic! ITA! I couldn’t even watch Sanjaya’s last performance of the Bonnie Raitt song. Gosh, it was so bad I did have to fast-forward it.
Crystal,
Honestly, I wish I could have been able to to that. lol
Yes, Pam. It was truly painful to watch. A few seconds was all I could stand. Sorry if that offends anyone.
I’m really impressed by how hard he’s working to promote this record. You can see it means a lot to him and he deserves the success. I never would have known he wasn’t thrilled with the choice of BA as first single by the way he performed it. He put so much into it.
I think CRich and Haley are definitely more talented than Sanjaya. They actually had performances that sounded like they were singers. Not great singers, but Sanjaya consistently sounded like a bad audition. But I’m going to be weird and go further. I don’t like what he said about Sanjaya, but if he’s going to be critical, I’d rather he not be so with his friends. At least with Sanjaya the feeling is mutual. He’s close with CRich and apparently Haley. Slamming your friends behind their backs while being nice to their faces is not cool. I thought it was way icky when Kat did it to Kellie. I’m glad he’s loyal to his friends.
I’m so excited to see him on GMA! I want to hear him sing live again. I got so spoiled when he was on AI!
Just an ironic FYI– Yahoo had posted yesterday the Top 10 Worst Performances Ever on Idol. Sanjaya made the list.
The guy has charm, and people do like him. *shrug* There’s somebody for everybody in this world. I choose Blake Noise.
