Agreed. However, I agree with the reviewer *ducks* in that B’s voice sounds rough when he’s reaching for the high note of WOWY. (I elaborate a bit more in the Long Island thread’s comments) I don’t think he’s struggling through SWBL, tho…he’s sounding smooth and velvety. Great, IMO. I was more annoyed with the fact that the reviewer isn’t able to credit the Chris/Blake duet correctly. (I elaborate on that over in Blake’s thread at TWoP!)

Thanks to MJ for the awesome vids! They are great, exactly what this fangirl needed on a day of no previously scheduled concert shibby.

Where can I find the clip of WOWY? I listened to part of SWBL and it sounded fine to me. Besdies, even if some of WOWY did sound rough..it’s not the end of the world. They’re allowed to have off songs. :-P

Here is Tracy/never knew’s vid from Rochester, NY on 8/23. WOWY starts @ about 2:21, with the note I reference @ 2:46. I’m not sure if there is a vid from either of the Long Island performances of SWBL that includes WOWY…if anyone else knows of one, feel free to link!

By the way I just heard the SWBL from New York and he sounded great to me, don’t understand what the reviewer was talking about.

Isn’t it great how you can mention any song he did on AI, and the Blakers will know exactly what week it was, the theme, his outfit, and how his hair was styled? I love it.

The review is fine. It doesn’t slam Blake or say that he can only beatbox, just to this reviewer he thought Blake was having a hard time hitting some high note. However, I listened to the video and he sounds fine to me.

I was more annoyed with the fact that the reviewer isn’t able to credit the Chris/Blake duet correctly.

I do agree with Laura on this part. This bugged me more than the missing the high notes. Blake is singing the VI part, not backing up CRich. But whatever. Seems though that he is once again the crowd favorite.

Forgot to say thanks to MJ for those videos. His little face when the crowd goes nuts for him is too cute.

ore than any other American Idol contestant this past season, Blake has the most potential to release a relevant album. Allowed to do his own thing, Lewis is capable of putting out some interesting stuff, the likes of which we’ve never seen from an Idol alumnus. Fans can expect more of the sonic experimentation and beat-boxing they became used to over the course of the season. Also, Lewis writes his own music and, while I’m sure the studio will attempt to provide him some hit-making help, what ends up on Blake’s first album should more or less be created mostly by him. I have a feeling Blake Lewis may attain some Daughtry level success.

MJ, Thanks for the great videos! You got fantastic sound quality too! I’m not too happy about the NY Times review but it doesn’t really matter - I love B-Shorty! The prediction from Buddy TV is more to my liking :)

Ok, MJ…I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the Cake duet from Cleveland! I must say, I absolutely love it when Blake and Chris start the scream-off. I love how Blake shushes his side of the crowd (his face is adorable and hot all in the span of like 5 seconds) while Chris’s side cheers, then says,”I think you’re entirely WRONG!” as the crowd on his side goes wild. I also love it when, after Chris takes his side of the floor seats, Blake says, “I like those guys…but I like these guys BETTER!” and the crowd just erupts! It almost makes me want to climb into my monitor to actually be there…again. *sigh* I suppose I’ll just have to wait until DC!

Guess I don’t have a login on MJ’s so will thank her from here for all the work she puts into her website. She sounds like a travelin’ Idol fool (in a good way)! It’s exciting that she’s from Boston as I’m traveling to the NH concerts myself. This will be my first trip back East in my entire life!! I’m super jazzed! I spoke with an employee at the hotel where I made reservations in NH and must say he was super friendly & helpful. Am totally looking forward to meeting some awesome Easterners! And of course seeing B-Shorty

I think that is what I enjoy most when watching these videos:)

dude…. In the lng island reveiw blkae’s voice might be hoarse cz he’s doing that like every night!!! and he’s gettingthe l3east sleep he said he only gets like 15 mins.. and thats just a power nap, give the guy a break he’s up all night working on his CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or he could have gotten a sore throat (that happened to me whaen I had 4 concert night in a role, I’m in quoior)

The videos were really good quality!!! blake was fantastic!!!

The crowd cheering and going nuts for Blake in those videos, it was amazing!! Even Spouse had to laugh and shake his head, at the attention that Blake commands. (he’d like to be a jellus h8tr, but Blake is too awesome for him to deny!) heehee!

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article 217;s Cleveland Videos at Team Plaid, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
