How many of you are currently last.fm users? If you are, great! We’ve come up with a way to use it to Blake’s advantage, and have some fun too, so if you’re not a member, we hope you’ll consider signing up! Not only is it free, it’s also super easy to use! Just think of last.fm as a musical myspace. Last.fm’s software tracks your music listening habits by interfacing with whatever program you use to play music on your computer…iTunes, MusicMatch Jukebox, etc. You can even plug your iPod into your computer and it will track whatever you listen to on it. Instantly, last.fm will display what you’ve been listening to on your profile. It also generates charts of your top artists weekly, and your top overall artists and top overall tracks. In turn, you’ll be matched up with people who have similar musical tastes (your Neighbours), and you can add friends and even leave comments on each other’s profiles. But wait…there’s more! You can join groups for anything you’re interested in, whether it’s John Mayer or kittens or Gossip Girl or french fries. Each group’s page generates charts based on what it’s members are listening to. See where we’re going with this?

Here’s what you’ll need to do…
Step 1: Click here to sign up for last.fm. (If you’re already a member, skip to Step 4!)
Step 2: Download the software. We promise, it’s as easy as pie!
Step 3: Try it out! Play some Blake tracks on your computer and watch them appear on your profile.
Step 4: Now the fun part! Join Team Plaid’s last.fm group!
Step 5: GO CRAZY! Add friends, join groups for anything and everything you have an interest in. Search for groups here! The more you listen to Blake’s music, the more visible he’ll become on last.fm. You might even discover some new music you enjoy in the process! It’s a win/win situation!!

Great, I’m glad some of y’all are signing up! One thing I forgot to mention, if you scroll down to the very bottom of the last.fm page, check out some of the links under “Resources”…if you click on “Widgets” you can get a code to embed a “Recently Listened Tracks” chart on your myspace, facebook, whatever. There are some other fun little things you can play around with too.
I was just wondering. When we search for Blake Lewis in Music and his page comes up, how come we don’t see Team Plaid in the “Related Groups” Section?
