Happy Holidays everyone! I’m a little behind on everything cause of moving this weekend on top of Christmas so I’m glad Team Plaid is here to get me back up to speed :)

For Christmas I got a new phone that actually has a camera (I know, welcome to the 21st century) and can do mp3 ringtones…you know what that means! ::skips off to B’s Musicbox site::

lol at Johnny’s update…and telling us to not only listen to ADD…oh well, even if I do wear it out I have like 3 extra copies stashed away :D

Passports eh? I’m with chatforblake, looks like they may be joining up with M5 on the international leg of their tour…1R is going to be joining them in late March…wow I wish we’d had that lineup when they were still in North America!

I don’t really think Blake would go on tour with M5 at this stage…

    star,

I really don’t think that is in the works myself not yet anyway but maybe later on at some point IMO.

Looks like nobody brought this over yet:

Season 6 contestants have seen their albums being released with little or no fan fare. Many Arista artists have seen their albums released with no help from the record company as of late and Blake Lewis is no exception. His album was released in early December with no notice….

Four Star Review, you all! I actually like this one alot–very fair.

  5. 55 Pam Dec 27th, 2007 at 10:03 am

    Bully,

That’s a great review! I like the fact they are recommending it to Maroon 5 fans! :thumbup_tb:

Does anyone know when and if ADD will be released in Europe? Perhaps that explains the passports? I can imagine ADD doing very well over there.

    I agree with a Star.
    I am in Japan.
Many musicians coming to Japan do not have an show opener.
And I do not say that there is not the exception in Japan either.
I asked it today and I got a negative answer.
There does not seem to be the plan now.
    It is Japan at least.
If he comes, I am glad, but I think that it does not happen.
    Possibility?
The ticket of M5 does not sell very much now. Their ticket was sold out last time , but it was a small box .
Of course I intend to go for all shows if he comes.
Even if it costs the money so that I was able to go to U.S.A; - lol
    but I can’t expect it.

I think that it is promotion in Canada.

  8. 58 Bully Dec 27th, 2007 at 10:37 am

I admit, I got excited and thought M5 myself– but Canada would make alot more sense.

NEW YEAR’S EVE!! Be afraid, be very afraid! LOL.
    Can’t wait.
(and I’m looking fwd to the landslide of interest in him, afterwards, too)

    Bully,

I saw your bulletin of excitement this morning. You are so cute! You put NBC instead of FOX! Hee! I guess we will let that one slide.

LOL! It is very exciting indeed! :D

well i did get all excited and thought that too, but i don’t think it is likely at this point of time.

Yes they are. The first date on their calendar for next year according to their official myspace page is March 7th in Seoul, Korea. They will be doing a series of shows in Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.

i will be at their show in march (singapore). can’t wait! been wanting to see them live for the longest time! xD

1R is going to be joining them in late March…wow I wish we’d had that lineup when they were still in North America!

i wished that 1R would start touring with them while they were in asia, but oh well…

i will be at their show in march! super stoked for it, been wanting to see them live for so long! xD

haha yeah, i just got my ticket 2 weeks ago. i managed to persuade my dad to allow me to go for it :)

didn’t manage to get the best seats, but i guess row 18 in the first block is alright.

Here are the sales #’s from last week from Billboard.

“Audio Day Dream” (Arista/J) from “American Idol” alum Blake Lewis, which drifted 32-44 and sold 55,000 (-4%).

btw, this brings the total sold to around 211K. I really thought the drop would have been more than what it was but the TV apperances have softened the blow and as some have mentioned, once the year end countdowns go away (this is another thing hurting BA’s spins), things may start to improve.

  16. 66 Nic Dec 27th, 2007 at 2:42 pm

Interesting, I so guess those statistics saying B’s CD might have been selling better than the previous week didn’t pan out. Did alot of other albums see a decrease in sales or was Blake the exception?

I was actually out in the malls the two days before Christmas day, and it wasn’t nearly as busy as it was the year before (where it took 50 minutes to GET TO the mall for a drive that normally takes 15 minutes!). I really think people weren’t out shopping much due to the rising costs of everything and the economy, so CD sales suffer.

If you read the Billboard article, you’ll see that it points out that only three albums in the top 50 saw a decrease - Blake’s being one of them. Only like three thousand less, but a decrease nonetheless. Most albums got a pretty huge bump. It was a very good week for CD sales overall.

    Nic,

Here is the entire paragraph that lists the decliners.

After an 11-5 jump last week, Mannheim Steamroller’s American Gramophone set “Christmas Song” stumbles to No. 14 with 151,000, a 16% fall. The set was only one of three releases in the top 50 to post fewer sales this week from last. The other two were Bow Wow & Omarion’s “Face Off” (T.U.G./Columbia) — last week’s top debut — which fell 11-29 to 83,000 (-22%), and “Audio Day Dream” (Arista/J) from “American Idol” alum Blake Lewis, which drifted 32-44 and sold 55,000 (-4%).

  19. 69 Nic Dec 27th, 2007 at 3:03 pm

I tried to access the Billboard article but couldn’t, so thank you for posting what I wondered about. That sucks that Blake was one of the very few who saw a decrease :(. At least it was a marginal drop, but you still would think he’d see a bump right before Christmas.

It really doesn’t help him to not get airplay.

  20. 70 Pam Dec 27th, 2007 at 3:15 pm

It really doesn’t help him to not get airplay.

I agree. It doesn’t. If we can get this year end countdown foolishness to go away, BA may show some spin increases and may pick up stations by the end of the first week in January.

  21. 71 chatforblake Dec 27th, 2007 at 3:21 pm

When I said Maroon 5 I was just hoping that it might be and it still might be if they dont tour till March. I to think probably promo for Canada for right now then clubs. But with this band they are used to performing together so may not have as long on the small club dates and is why I think still a chance for Maroon 5 tour.

  22. 72 Nic Dec 27th, 2007 at 3:26 pm

    Pam,

I’m not even hearing that many year-end countdowns here yet, just the same old songs over and over. Some variety would be nice. Thank God our “favorite” song lost almost 1,000 spins, I hope that trend continues! LOL

Oh, I was banned at the Site that Shall Not Be Named after a mere 2 or 3 posts. It’s really to the point where I am probably not going back there, the mods are succeeding in killing off the Blake thread like they probably intended all along.

    Nic,

May I say that I’m not surprised and not because it is you. That’s why I only lurk and don’t post there anymore. :wink_wp:

I really thought the drop would have been more than what it was

The week where a majority of artist see huge increases you thought that he would had more than 4% drop?

I really doubt the passport is needed for touring right now. Tour dates and openings acts are are set in advanced and by the sound of Johnny Nail’s e-mail he didn’t even know why he needed the passport.

I noticed that too. It did seem kind of strange that he was questioning the passport but oh well. LOL

I hope passports just mean Canada for now…not that I don’t want overseas fans to see them. But once you’ve seen Blake (and KJ) live, it’s like a drug and you just want more and more! lol So I’m hoping they head back this way at the first of the year.

Actually, Nic, I wasn’t surprised. There were only a couple of days there where the sales at StreetPulse were around 18-23% higher. Before that they were negative, and after that they were around 4%. So, I think they balanced out.
