I just watched that, well more than a few times, love the part where Blake just makes that little pop sound at the end of his beatboxing with CRich. His little face is too sweet, and watching CRich laugh is priceless. These two boys are having way too much fun. Hope somewhere down the road they can do some shows together. But only after they have established themselves first away from AI.

ok so this is how the concert went

we got their and i was 4 feet away from the tour buses.. but when we went to the area to meet them.. we found out Blake(and Melinda ) already came out( i would of met them.. but my mom kinda got lost on the way their.. but some lady told us when we got thir we just missed them ).. so then we decided to go to the enterance area and wait to go inside. We finally got inside and their was this line where you can meet Justin Guardini(sp?) froms season 1.. so i met him ..( at least i met someone).. then their was this other line where we were able to take this pic with a cardboard figure of the 10 idols and it said ” American Idol Live Tour 2007″ at the bottom.. so i took a pic with that too.
The concert was great.. Blake came dressed up as a secruity guard( my mom kept asking me who was that on the stage.. but she was kinda suprised when she found out who it was lol).. We found out it was Phils Mother in-laws bday and his moms bday 2morrow so we screamed out Happy Birthday to both of them.. the Cake duet was awsome( as usual) .. Chris was wearing his “Moms love Me” tshirt.. i guess he likes that shirt alot cause I seen alot of pics with him wearing that shirt
Sanjaya was actuall kinda good( i think he sings better live) and in the songhe sang.. he was actually wearing tights( well it looked like them from where i was sitting ) LOL.. Melinda, Lakisha, Phil, Chris S, Haley, and Gina were awsome too( Gina was up on the stage alot).. And Jordin was AWSOME! =)
So after the concert I got a few souviners(sp?).. I got a Blake tshirt, a program, a poster, and one of those Tie Dyes tshirts( their a whole story on why i got that one)
After the concert.. i thought i was gonna stay a while and see if i could meet any of them.. but my mom wanted to leave cause she said she had work 2morrow( which is true).. so i never met any of the idols .. and while we were leaving some guy was trying to sell that Tie Dyed tshirt to her.. and my mom brought it for me cause she felt bad we had to leave and i couldnt meet any of the idols.. but i had an AWSOME TIME =)… oh and before i went back to the car.. i looked through the tour bus windpw( i was 30 feet away.. i think).. and i saw the light on and i think i saw Chris Sligh lol

I’m hoping that there is a deal waiting for CRich or that he has already signed with 19R, but the idea of the touring together not so sure about. This was from a Q&A in EW with Chris D. last year after he signed.

I think everybody’s gonna be focusing on their own career right now. And as much as we love each other and we enjoy working together on the tour, I think I’m speaking for all of us who want to separate ourselves as much as we can from Idol, as far as the show is concerned, and focus on our own creative projects, and make it about us.

I have to agree with this. As much as love the CAKE duet, and I do love it, the best thing these two guys can do is separate themselves from AI. I agree with this 100%. They must set up their own careers first. As far as C-rich getting a deal, well, I’m not sure Clive is going to bite if he hasn’t already. Billboard magazine has made it sound like beyond Blake and Jordin, nobody is getting picked up by 19 or Sony. I know Chris is getting a good tour reaction, but I don’t know if that’s what they are looking at to decide who they want to sign. Of the rest of the idols, though, C-rich is probably the next best bet beyond Blake and Jordin to secure a major label record deal.

I have been seeing a lot of speculation about CRich being signed by 19/Clive and having an album out, and maybe touring with B.

Then, Blake. omg. The crowd went crazy. The “With or Without You” ending was absolutely wonderful and like I said, “You Give Love A Bad Name” got even better.

RIght now, I just hope Blake is concentrated on his solo career and major label debut this November. That’s what is most important.

I don’t want people to only see them as a Cake duo for a lifetime. Blake Lewis career is first. I think people have been too enthusiastic about this whole Cake thing. I am not a fan of Chris so maybe I am biased ,but I do think it’s smart for Blake to do his own thing first and gain credibility in the music inustry.

Blake already has everything going on for him on his own. He doesn’t need his buddy Chris stealing fans away from him.
Chris sure is no dummy, he knows he is getting more exposure out there, if he is at Blake’s side all the time.

But that’s easy for me to say, because I’m not a Chris R fan either. I honestly can’t name one AI performance of his that I liked (no, not even “Geek In The Pink”) and he still failed to impress me in concert. *ducks flying objects*

I’m skeptical about a full-blown Cake tour happening, but I could see them possibly doing a concert together here and there. For comparison, since Blake’s been talking about touring small venues, when Daughtry did their small venue tour earlier in the year, they had other bands signed to major labels opening for them (like Cinder Road).

And there’s also the possiblity that Blake will be put on the road as an opening act for a more established artist. He’s a newbie too, ya know? ;) I know Kellie Pickler’s been touring with Brad Paisley, and isn’t Daughtry opening for Bon Jovi?

I must admit I have wondered about Chris R being signed at least by 19M, if not 19R/Clive. It would make a lot of sense of things that have happened (like him being in half the numbers on the tour - at least that is the way it feels). I noticed the interview answer, too, but wondered if it was just that he couldn’t SAY anything until after the tour. Someday we will know.

I think he was a very good sport about the whole thing, but man I don’t like being followed around with a video camera. I was just at a wedding a couple of weeks ago, and you know how they ask you to say something to the bride and groom? So I did, but they kept taping and I didn’t not like that. And that was with people I knew! So my hat is off to him for keeping his cool.

I watched this video and it made me uncomfortable just watching this pushy person. There was alot of young people who were behaving and Blake was adorable with them. This seems like the kind of fan that Blake has talked about that he really doesnt like. I understand the fangirly thing but I dont understand fans not realizing that everyone there is a fan and would like there five seconds to of blakeness. I also feel this fan would have been first one to say that Blake was rude if he has said no to the filming. We all need to realize that being a fan we have responsibilities to like letting him autograph and talk to other fans and build his fanship up, If we monopolize his time we are robbing some other fan the thrill and may wind up losing said fan. Sorry this is long. But its a pet peeve of mine.

They’ll always have that AI-tag, so they need to do everything else they can to become an artist independent of the show. Staying friends is one thing. Even co-writing songs is different.

Yes you are right. They do not have to come as a set. And I also agree that CRich is not stealing fans away from Blake. Everyone has their favorites and others that they like also. I do not view this as a competition at all. I wish all of them much luck. However, with that being said I would only by an album, from those that make one, if I like it.

Regarding buying an album only if I like it - well, I downloaded all of Chris’s mp3’s from iTunes (except one) and I like them all. I also enjoy the kind of music he says is his musical style (Jason Mraz meets Maroon 5), so I have a feeling I’ll like his album. I’m not just buying it because I think he’s hot. Although, he IS hot. :)

Of course, I did buy Bo’s album even though I didn’t like it because I thought Clive screwed him over and I wanted to support him anyway…

One thing I want to point out about predicing success–I’m a huge Carrie Underwood fan. Loved her from the first day her audition was shown and I remember how through out all of season 4 many fans and the media predicted not only would Bo win, but he would go on to beat her in sales. Carrie use to get a very lukewarm response on tour. Now look at her. Just something to think about it.

Best Battle: The beat-boxing showdown between Chris and Blake. Blake totally won, of course, but Chris put together a pretty convincing redux of “SexyBack.”

And chatforblake– I think the differences the BFFs have is what sets them off so nicely from the other. Salt and Pepper, so to speak you know? PB and J. :-) I was not a ChrisRich fan on the show, but because of Blake I got to know him thru fandom…and now many of us have a soft spot for him. Sometimes, Blake’s friendship for ChrisR is what helps remind me that Blake is a serious guy, and for real. It speaks well of him. Just saying.

I agree Lisa. I like Jordin very much too. I’m just concerned that Jordin’s material isn’t going to be as strong as the material Carrie had to work with on her debut album. “Tattoo” just isn’t wowing me. :\

I had posted up one from that show, but this one is much better. Very close up. This is one of my favorites that these two have done. Blake was really in his element on this set during the NJ show. Plus the end is too funny. “Everyone listen to me, be very loud.” Blake’s face during that is so cute:)
