I noticed that too. It had 116 spins and 8 stations listed at the 4:11 a.m. update but it was gone at the 2:53 p.m. update.

Hey! I don’t know if ya’ll have seen but over at Kj’s Drumline they’re having a letter writing campaign to Arista to get Blake and the band to go on tour. It’s kinda cool because the letter is already made-up; all you have to do is sign it and print it. It can’t hurt; i wanna see blake on tour so bad. i’ll do anything. bhaha!

AND, I know that it was played it a few times yesterday. I think it was that St. Louis or Kansas City station that played it. So there has to be a glitch.

Newduck–you are right tho, we need to keep pushing forward. We have a summertime of events on the way! We still need to ride the TRain, and share the album with friends and family, and anybody else who might be interested. Continued push may help the album still, and certainly, won;t hurt Blake’s career.

AI NEEDED Jordin to do better than B. That’s happened. They can release the reigns now on our boy and maybe the label will back a remix of HMW? Just like the 1R Apologize. The original version did nothing and neither did Stop and Stare when it was originally released. They rereleased Apologize with Timbz and then rereleased S&S and both have done well. Anyone seeing a pattern.

Regardless we need to push the CD, that is where the energy needs to be right now. Do the buying and giving thing. Do the giving out flyers or leaving them on cars if it isn’t illegal in your area. Word of mouth is important. Go on music websites telling people it’s out there and it’s good. Tell them to go listen at the music stores/book stores that have the listening stations. Sell it people!

Well thanks to EOTW, I went and bought 4 copies for sharing (and hoarding), but it was really only like buying the two at Walmart, so I feel pretty happy about that.:-)

I ALSO ordered another full price one from Toys R Us. If you are going to send one to a person as a gift, esp if they have kids, this may be a good thing: the company name does inspire a bit of trust where kids are concerned. The two I sent direct came from there, because I want every chance of them feeling good about it, and AmericanIdol etc. Full price with shipping from Toys R Us was like $20 so it wasn’t bad.

I have been waiting for this week, and so I will be curious as to the sales numbers overall. It is Monday today, so perhaps the following week will be the one that shows a big bump? Idk tho, because people have been buying this week, in effort to distribute along the TRAIN routes. heh.

To be honest, I don’t even think a “big push” will make any difference either, but whatever makes people feel good, I guess. IMO there should be efforts focused on buying the EP next week.

It would be nice if B or Big D could tell us if this is even going to make a difference. I would assume that B is being given more info than we are and might be able to tell us where to better direct our money on this.

It is very sad that he isn’t taking a more direct part in all of this, isn’t it? We are spending lots of time giving out flyers and money buying this and some direction would be nice.

Itunes is now the #1 seller of music. Digital music allows a lot of older tunes (e.g. Time of the Season by the Zombines after Blake sang it) to get much more sales because of ready accessibility.

I bet in 5 years they won’t press CDs anymore.

I don’t really think there are HUGE amounts of albums sold through iTunes generally, with the exception of the first few weeks an album is on sale. iTunes is more about selling individual tracks. Rihanna sells oodles of single downloads on iTunes, but her actual album, which has been out since last year, only went platinum pretty recently.

Overall the ADD Train idea was good but that stupid letter part ruined it for me. You don’t want to do chain letter type crap. Just gifting the cd to somebody and then checking later on to see if they liked it would have been a better idea. If they did like it then you could ask them to gift a Blake CD to somebody else. The letter part was too goofy and weird. Sorry…

Crystal J. I had the same feeling today. I was planning on picking up another copy or 2 and handing them out this week. I know some people feel this won’t help but it certainly can’t hurt. I will keep a positive attitude because I believe in B and I believe he does care about and appreciate his fans.

I totally agree. I am enthused, and I also feel it can’t hurt. I am going to buy my 4 copies when I get home from work today from Amazon (have to buy 4 to get the free shipping), but 32.00 for 4 CDs is a great price! I am also planning on buying the EPs and I also look forward to what the BLArmy team works out for us! Like Kristen said, we have to have a positive attitude. We just have to have faith.

Newduck, you mentioned that maybe we don’t have time to deal with the little people. I will speak for Blake to let you know that all his fans are giants. There are no little people when it comes to the people that support him. He knows that it was fans that got him to runner up and he knows that it is the fans that have bought his cd. He is trying hard to find ways to get others to listen to the cd. Once they listen a few times, they will be like us, loving it.

Blake went through a grueling schedule with radio stations last month driving from state to state and like you was alittle disappointed that there wasn’t more play. Since those “visits” ended you have seen the same drop in plays that we have and we all don’t get it.

What do you do to get a record played? We haven’t figured it out. I would like to note that I don’t know crap about the record business and Blake is learning more than I could ever imagine.

This is Cinco de Mayo and someone said it should be Cinco de Blako. This coming weekend, Sunday, is the annivery of Blake Lewis day in Seattle. The idea of the ADD Train was to push this weeks record (cd) sales to try to get to the 300000 mark. That’s a whole lot more than has been recorded since January. So, the plan is, if you can afford it, buy ADD and pass it on to a friend who hasn’t bought the cd. Ask them to listen to it 3 times through, then if they like it, buy one and pass the gift on to someone else that doesn’t have it.

I hope this helps let you know some of whats going on. I will try to get on the threads more, but after a sit down with B, maybe I can tell you more.

About the Buying Day, or Week– I find that talk a little hard to hear. I think there has been a rise in purchases because of the Sharing Program. Many people the past week have said they bought another 2or 3 or 7 to give out. I don;t think we can buy enough at ONE TIME to make a huge leap(as was pointed out by various persons last week) but we CAN make a dent in the people we know, and try to expand his fanbase. Those positive ripples I keep talking about, they are what we DO have, and hopefully will be people interested in buying his things in the future.

His MS friend numbers are rising daily, and I begin to wonder if it is due to this effort, or to some unknown spam reason. The I Bought You as a Pet!!11!! posts grow in number too. I am curious how much of that is real fan related growth. Even 60 head a day is a nice bump up in fans. :-)

All I know is, I have had to exceed my comfort zone in promoting and sharing and talking up something/someone who is pretty near and dear to me. I feel like if we open up that door to More with a positive attitude, a Good WILL result in it. Expecting a dividend on our efforts, love growing a good result, etc. Step out with belief, and we can achieve! Lots of people have had really good ideas, in all this promotion stuff. Do what they have shown, and then find a way to make it your OWN.

We have to do all this stuff with our heart and not our head, because our brains will tell us to be sensible and take it all on the chin, right? Fans have to step out in Love. *hugs Blake*

I agree with what Bully said; people need to feel comfortable in what they do when they promote Blake’s music. They have to make the method fit their style. It is not going to work, if it is forced. Also, different ways of promoting Blake music will work differently with various age groups. But when all those efforts are combined, I think it might bring some good results of spreading love for Blake’s music. It is great that his fans seem to reflect a wide range of ages and demographics.

There are things lots of people can do, with no money at all. The requesting at mediabase and stations, fliers, writing to Oprah and any other great idea you get like the inspired QVC thing. I made a couple ADDcopies for neices, who really might throw the thing away their old auntie gave them–but! If they try them and like them? I bet they go and get the iTunes for the iPod, right? They’ll tell their friends, and it will still be win-win. Letting people “hear” the music is really important I think–which is one reason i love how Zammie and a couple others have pulled out the record at parties and stuff.

It’s a different world than it was when I was young, where music is concerned. I am always curious about what some of you other (younger) folks have to say about that stuff. With album numbers being down all over, one wonders at the fate of young artists starting out.

Alot of people got to know and love that song because of that.” I think it’s true, and Idol should really keep doing their part to support their fledgling artists. Hard enough as it is to get momentum.

Another way that maybe you can help Blake without any money is the following: You are a David A. fan right? Do you post on any David A. fansites/forums? If you do, tell all your friends on the boards about Blake’s album and the new EP. Maybe there are some Blake fans there or some that are willing to try his music.

oh, you knew they’d promote the hell out of Jordin after Taylor ‘flopped’ compared to Daughtry, that was a given. That still doesn’t have me convinced that they will promote Blake later on though. :/

Which brings me to my next point - who do you think will win THIS season? Because I’m thinking that if Archuleta is victorious, Cook may spank his ass in CD sales afterwards so wouldn’t it make more sense for Cook to prevail?
