star- That’s a very good question. My local stores are selling out and then getting more so there seems to be a good supply somewhere. Also, someone pointed out that amazon.ca says that they only have three left in stock and that more are on the way.
I think there’s been a big mistake made by not saving the buying of the CDs for this week. I think people continued to do their own thing instead of combining efforts and doing one thing. The end result is going to be everything is diluted and has less effect.
Overall the ADD Train idea was good but that stupid letter part ruined it for me. You don’t want to do chain letter type crap. Just gifting the cd to somebody and then checking later on to see if they liked it would have been a better idea. If they did like it then you could ask them to gift a Blake CD to somebody else. The letter part was too goofy and weird. Sorry…
Crystal J. I had the same feeling today. I was planning on picking up another copy or 2 and handing them out this week. I know some people feel this won’t help but it certainly can’t hurt. I will keep a positive attitude because I believe in B and I believe he does care about and appreciate his fans.
I totally agree. I am enthused, and I also feel it can’t hurt. I am going to buy my 4 copies when I get home from work today from Amazon (have to buy 4 to get the free shipping), but 32.00 for 4 CDs is a great price! I am also planning on buying the EPs and I also look forward to what the BLArmy team works out for us! Like Kristen said, we have to have a positive attitude. We just have to have faith.
So are you all going to buy another 4 - 5 copies again whenever Idol Bored decides to have that be a mission?

Work has been keeping me so busy I have had much web time. I will be meeting with Blake tonight to discuss some of the things we can do to show our appreciation of all your work and enthusiasm about getting ADD on the marke and How Many Words played on the radio. You are all right in your assumptions that the label hasn’t been doing much for Blake, but I can’t expound on the detail, which I really don’t know. There is some other good news coming from Blake, but again, I need to meet with him and discuss my ability to post. He may want to do his own news bulletins.
Newduck, you mentioned that maybe we don’t have time to deal with the little people. I will speak for Blake to let you know that all his fans are giants. There are no little people when it comes to the people that support him. He knows that it was fans that got him to runner up and he knows that it is the fans that have bought his cd. He is trying hard to find ways to get others to listen to the cd. Once they listen a few times, they will be like us, loving it.
Blake went through a grueling schedule with radio stations last month driving from state to state and like you was alittle disappointed that there wasn’t more play. Since those “visits” ended you have seen the same drop in plays that we have and we all don’t get it.
What do you do to get a record played? We haven’t figured it out. I would like to note that I don’t know crap about the record business and Blake is learning more than I could ever imagine.
This is Cinco de Mayo and someone said it should be Cinco de Blako. This coming weekend, Sunday, is the annivery of Blake Lewis day in Seattle. The idea of the ADD Train was to push this weeks record (cd) sales to try to get to the 300000 mark. That’s a whole lot more than has been recorded since January. So, the plan is, if you can afford it, buy ADD and pass it on to a friend who hasn’t bought the cd. Ask them to listen to it 3 times through, then if they like it, buy one and pass the gift on to someone else that doesn’t have it.
I hope this helps let you know some of whats going on. I will try to get on the threads more, but after a sit down with B, maybe I can tell you more.

Hey D!! Thanks for that letter! I never doubted that Blake appreciated his fans - not once!! I am happy to hear that there is some exciting news coming our way :) There are going to be slits down the road - but if we all stick together, and work our butts off - I just know it will pay off!! It has for so many other people, and I honestly believe it will for B as well!!
I hope you and Blake have a great time discussing ideas! We are up for anything! I am buying several more copies tomorrow :)

About the Buying Day, or Week– I find that talk a little hard to hear. I think there has been a rise in purchases because of the Sharing Program. Many people the past week have said they bought another 2or 3 or 7 to give out. I don;t think we can buy enough at ONE TIME to make a huge leap(as was pointed out by various persons last week) but we CAN make a dent in the people we know, and try to expand his fanbase. Those positive ripples I keep talking about, they are what we DO have, and hopefully will be people interested in buying his things in the future.
His MS friend numbers are rising daily, and I begin to wonder if it is due to this effort, or to some unknown spam reason. The I Bought You as a Pet!!11!! posts grow in number too. I am curious how much of that is real fan related growth. Even 60 head a day is a nice bump up in fans. :-)
All I know is, I have had to exceed my comfort zone in promoting and sharing and talking up something/someone who is pretty near and dear to me. I feel like if we open up that door to More with a positive attitude, a Good WILL result in it. Expecting a dividend on our efforts, love growing a good result, etc. Step out with belief, and we can achieve! Lots of people have had really good ideas, in all this promotion stuff. Do what they have shown, and then find a way to make it your OWN.
We have to do all this stuff with our heart and not our head, because our brains will tell us to be sensible and take it all on the chin, right? Fans have to step out in Love. *hugs Blake*
PS. a good showing of purchases for the download/Remix will tell alot for the support Blake either has, or has not. I’m not wild about remixes, don’t care much cause I’m not a clubber– but I’ll be buying mine! :-)
Well stated Bully, I am with you 100%!!!!!!!! Let’s step out of our comfort zone and work together to spread ADD!!!!(Which I have been doing lately - I’m not much of a clubber and I have been to different clubs almost every weekend LOL)!!! And if we spread the love to even 10 people, and those people spread the love, there will be a ripple effect from that over time!!! We just cannot be looking for immediate gains….look ahead - because those gains will be there…. and they will continue to grow over time!!

Thats not necessarily true. Im sure there will be a handfull of people who love ADD, but wont even be aware that theres a remix EP.
Guys Ireally want to do the cd thing but I don’t tihnk I havee the money… Mother’s Day is coming up so I don’t know.. I could buy my mom a copy of Blake’s CD for mothers day??? Would that help….

Thats a good idea…I’m a mom and I love ADD!!! You know dani go to www.kjsdrumline.com/sawkatalk, they have started a letter writing campaign to Arista trying them to get Blake on tour, which would only help his sales becasue as we all know he is an amazing performer. If people could see him they would love his music even more! Any way I sent out 6 letters today!!!! One for each member of my family. I printed out extras and tomorrow I’m gonna hit my friends. I can afford stamps and an envelope or two with no problems…so thats another way to help BLake. We all got to get involved with everything we can!!!

I agree with what Bully said; people need to feel comfortable in what they do when they promote Blake’s music. They have to make the method fit their style. It is not going to work, if it is forced. Also, different ways of promoting Blake music will work differently with various age groups. But when all those efforts are combined, I think it might bring some good results of spreading love for Blake’s music. It is great that his fans seem to reflect a wide range of ages and demographics.
That would most definitely help Dani! But whatever you can do, it is OK. Like Deb mentioned; printing out the letter and sending it to Arista. Get your friends to send the letter also. Do what is comfortable for you, because I am sure Blake would appreciate anything you do. And hey….I am getting some CDs, so I will give one to one of my friends in your name! I will tell them it is from my TeamPlaid buddy dani!!!!!
Somebody on MJ’s brought up a good point, Blake may do worse than Katherine Mcphee. She had a hit song but still had sub-par record sales. Blake is still yet to have a song reach a decent position on the charts. Something MAJOR has to be done here, we need to start a revolution. You all have to understand that the music industry today revolves around MONEY only. Why do you think you hear “With You,” “Please Dont Stop the Music,” and “See You Again” on the radio OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN?? Thats their marketing technique. It produces digital downloads, and record sales. Unfortunatley, only a few luck artist will get the chance to have a song on the radio all the time. It all revolves around who the major record companies want to dump their money into. Currently it Rihanna, Chris Brown, Tpain and others. Blake is not one of those Lucky Artists. We need to organize major protests (similar to a March on Washington) to get people to know that Blake should be on the radio. So instead of ADD day, or the ADD train (Which btw is an extremely corny catch phrase), it should be the ADD revolution!

You are so right Kasia we need to do what we feel comfortable doing in regards to promoting Blake. If your like me and alot of people, gas prices have us all feeling a pinch, so writing letters right now is really cost efficient and I feel like I’m going right to the boss so to speak. It so frustrating requesting music only not to have it played. So maybe we can draw attention to Blake and his music in this way. I love the revolution!!! Thats what we got going on..any and all ways of promoting Blake are worth the effort, some just can do more than others but hey in order for it to work we all got to get involved somehow!!! When I see my friends with the letters I’m taking the envelopes and stamps so they don’t even have to supply that and I’ll even mail them for them…anything for Blake.
The snippets on Amazon are too short but I love DJ Dan, Dave Aude Club and Radio, and Jake Benson Radio thus far. That music makes you really want to dance.

There are things lots of people can do, with no money at all. The requesting at mediabase and stations, fliers, writing to Oprah and any other great idea you get like the inspired QVC thing. I made a couple ADDcopies for neices, who really might throw the thing away their old auntie gave them–but! If they try them and like them? I bet they go and get the iTunes for the iPod, right? They’ll tell their friends, and it will still be win-win. Letting people “hear” the music is really important I think–which is one reason i love how Zammie and a couple others have pulled out the record at parties and stuff.
It’s a different world than it was when I was young, where music is concerned. I am always curious about what some of you other (younger) folks have to say about that stuff. With album numbers being down all over, one wonders at the fate of young artists starting out.
Eldest said to me today,”It’s a shame that Blake didn;t have a song like Daughtry did with “Home” that could be used on Idol. Alot of people got to know and love that song because of that.” I think it’s true, and Idol should really keep doing their part to support their fledgling artists. Hard enough as it is to get momentum.

Another way that maybe you can help Blake without any money is the following: You are a David A. fan right? Do you post on any David A. fansites/forums? If you do, tell all your friends on the boards about Blake’s album and the new EP. Maybe there are some Blake fans there or some that are willing to try his music.
I like some of the re-mixes. Can’t wait to hear the whole songs. But some of them - it will be interesting to see if they bear any resemblance to HMW.
FYI - Just tried to buy 4 copies of the CD through Amazon and it wouldn’t let me - the max it would allow me to buy was 3. ???

oh, you knew they’d promote the hell out of Jordin after Taylor ‘flopped’ compared to Daughtry, that was a given. That still doesn’t have me convinced that they will promote Blake later on though. :/
Which brings me to my next point - who do you think will win THIS season? Because I’m thinking that if Archuleta is victorious, Cook may spank his ass in CD sales afterwards so wouldn’t it make more sense for Cook to prevail?
