Everyone must be busy clicking too. Don’t forget XM Fan Voting while you are out there today. We have not had a single play as yet today.

are there others that we could be voting daily/weekly?

Besides XM radio, I think another good one is Sirius Satellite. I am at work though right now and I don’t have the link.

I think anyone who comes in second place on Idol, should just scream and run for the hills! It is a cursed spot. Noone besides Clay (and his is just because he had a massive fanbase that has stuck by him) has had any success. I think they win a contract by coming in second, and the record label just passifies them with that amount of money. I don’t think they ever have any intention of promoting the artist or sinking in any more money to them. The only reason I think they did with Daughtry (not 2nd place, but probably next most marketable on season 5), was because Taylor did not meet their needs for an Idol that year (I don’t mean to imply Chris was not good…I just mean he got a lot of label support to promote him). I am also not implying Taylor was not good, I just think Idol threw him under the bus.

The only other successful Idols that were not first, were of the country genre. Country seems to embrace the Idol talent.

Country embraces talent period. They know how to make a star and they spread the love out pretty well. They have a great handling system in that genre. Too bad pop doesn’t have any.

Pop Music is fickle, true. Country Music embraces stars, and then supports them forever. :-) They used to say it was because there wasn’t as many country stars, but I don;t think that’s so. I think it’s because country patrons develop an affinity for an artist…they just like them.

FanFair first week of June is one of the best draws ever, for people. What a great opportunity you know?? The Labels sponser the tents/tables, so the up and coming artists can get out there and shake hands with people. Great PR.

I know we discussed this before,,. but would it be beneficial to write to Arista in support of the artist? at least they would know that people still care…someone said “no” but somehow they have to get the message.
