   However, Seattle proclaimed May 11th the official Blake Lewis Day when he performed in Westlake Center last year.

   I think that was a great idea to try and tie it in with the official proclaimed day!

   ABP out to KRISTI!!!…need official okay…if May 5th if the day…NEED to get the msg out SOON..coordinate and hit every possible site ..this has to be a success…how about contact AI? or ARISTA…see how they can help…would make a good newsworthy event for the TV stations..etc…worth a try

   Joyce,

   I don’t think contacting Arista or Idol is a good idea. As it was pointed out here earlier this week, those kinds of things can backfire and make things worse and Idol will have nothing to do with it. It would be better to get an approval from Blake at least if not Kristi.

   you may be right about AI or Arista…I don’t think Blake would care if we buy more CD’s but we do need Kristi’s input and so forth..but to get this “CD” day moving, we can’t waste time..its only 10 days..to organize a movement takes time..

   I agree! Let’s go for it! Beatboxer week! Let’s buy ADD that week. Let’s save a drum and bang a beatboxer that week (just to support our favorite slogan pick of course). Whatever it takes

   Heh! I am with this, EOTW. I can buy one or two more ADDs for support’s sake. I also like the idea of it being May11th which is officially Blake Lewis Day.

   Bang a Drum, and Save a Beatboxxer! Tribal people say the sound of war drums carry for miles and miles.

   I will support you guys in any way. I have already been giving away his CD to local bars/clubs on the weekend. I keep buying them. I figure that spending some money now in the end is worth it to help such a stand - up amazig guy!!! I’ll do anything I can in MI!!!

   1. Maybe we should make some sort of list here of what fan groups or sites we want to hit up with the announcement?

   2. Maybe we could make some sort of Youtube video announcing the event. Or Blake could make a video announcement and post it on his myspace.

    I think Crystal J and Kasia have had the right idea, trying to get the singles played during the Request it Hot Picks times at night, because that is a time of big impact for a certain audience.

    I think it was originally Lisa who suggested that but I was using that in requesting the song on the radio. I have to say, in my case, I really had better luck getting responses from DJs in the evening programs and those with countdowns (about 40-50% response rate). I did make a request to another local radio station yesterday, also during evening countdown section, and DJ wrote back that he will try to get HMW played. We will see tonight if he will keep the promise.

    That is a great idea about May 5th week as ADD day. I am all for it. Getting endorsement from Blake will definitely help those who need extra motivation.

    Hola Hola Fellow Team Plaiders!

    A friend of mine requested Blake this morning at my local station. The woman at thestation said they’d see if they had it. A few hours later I requested and the woman said there had been a lot of requests for it. However, she still didn’t know if they had it.

    I never heard it but if there had been a lot of requests for it, it must be catching on to some people. Keep the Blake Noise Alive! =)

    I posted early but now it is gone, strange? hmmmm…lol. OH well I just wanted to tell Bully that Glycerin is by Bush. I use to like that band, Gavin the lead singer is married to Gwen Stefani. I am so happy that something like ADD day or week is going to help Blake in sales. I will do my part. Hopefully this will be a good bump in the right direction.

    Thanks Sue! :-) I haven’t heard it again, but I’m hoping they play it another drivetime. I just remember it as being very full of feeling,and liked the expression.

    I went and searched Amazon for “Glycerin”, and I came up with this.
    Seems I remember it being a little more melodic and with some syntho violins or something, but it is a very cool song. Try track number 8.

    Did we know, Bush is from the 90’s???yikes. Apparently the DJ on that station was mixing it up a bit! :-)

    Bully - when you said “Glycerin” the first thing that popped into my head was the song from Bush. But I am so not with the current music, that I figured it wasn’t unrealistic there would be a group named that, lol.

    Crystal J– In the 90’s, I was still in a coma of life and babies and SesameStreet. heh. Alot of the late 80’s and 90’s were lost on me, from working alot and then doing other stuff. I didn;t snap out of it, until recent years, and Blake actually got me wanting to listen outside the box, a little. :-)
