I’ve been voting for Blake on XM, I think we ALL need to POWER VOTE as often as possible on there to help B out (well, every 5 minutes or when you are near your computer.. lol). It doesn’t really seem like the record label is going to do much promo, does it?? :/
For the David Cook fans, you will LOVE the studio version of “Always Be My Baby.” I really could envision this being a hit on the radio! I think I’m gonna download this off iTunes.

Power vote as often as you can on as many as you can. The more places this is played, the more power it has, but we need there to be lots of votes each place and not just two or three here and there.
I do it in this order (and I leave yes.com on and check in as often as I can to see if i can yes any of the plays there)
1. XM
2. the Blake Street Team radio stations for the week (see above for those this week)
3. All Access
4. my local stations
It takes about 5 minutes to do a round of these and I repeat as often I can.
If you are a BL fan, can’t you spare at lest 5 minutes to do this. If we all do, it WILL make a difference. But I really feel we need to unify TP, ST, BlakerGirls and IdolBored and all other sites out there like that to get this maximized. Remember to repeat the xm vote as often as possible. It only takes seconds really, if you can do whenever you have a spare 4 seconds on the puter.

I got some new on my grandma and papaw. They’re out of the hospital, they’re not in the best of shape but they’re ok, I talked to my grandma last nigh though and almost burst in to tears. I’m just happy they’re ok!

You can do all of the online ones I would guess, so that’s XM, Yes and the online requests for the radio stations above.
You can also the emails for allaccess, so I don’t think I would count out any of them except don’t make the phone calls.
And you can keep up with the local stations there, so basically you can do all of them.

newduck, pam and others, so happy to see all the posts about websites and the voting. We CAN make a difference. Let’s at least try and give it a shot.
I do the mediabase forms every morning before I go to work and then at night. They are so easy to do, are nonobtrusive to the DJs, and I think, make a difference. I am convinced that some of the stations seem to play it right after I have submitted the form (notice it on the YES site). There seems to be more response from the forms really late at night (they probably have nothing better to do so late and probably look at the requests).
Don’t forget the Tucson station. I think as somebody mentioned, HMW has now shown up as a format starter and it is now showing up on the mediabase form (don’t have to fill in the information).

Yep, EOTW that is what is happening.
Most stations don’t have an onsite Program Director for the overnight shows. They do their own thing from a list, that includes some newer music. They see how those songs do on the overnight show and then add them accordingly to the daytime playlist. The playlist itself is different at different times of the day/night.
The overnight DJ’s are more likely to “hear” and answer your requests because they have less requests coming in. I noticed also that Yes showed the song played quickly after I requested on Mediabase after the midnight mark.

work day almost over…I know I voted at least 10 x’ an hr….just kept the site open and log the time so I could vote ever 5 minutes or so…hopefully they have played HMW at least once an hour…I guess you can tell I didn’t have a very productive work day..

I had written to the KSMB station (Lafayette, LA) yesterday. The DJ there, Chris Reed, was kind enough to answer my email and said that he would be Podcasting the interview today. Of course, I replied to thank him for that notice.
For those of you that didn’t get to hear it, this is the one where he said he loves his Daddy. Here is the link. I checked out the DJ’s MS too, and his profile pic is one of him and Blake.
Nic - thanks for sending the DC link. That gave me goosebumps. I’d love to hear him sing “Never Too Late” or “Sorry.” But, at the same time, I like hearing him put a completely new spin on the old pop songs, lol.

Do you have the Mediabase all access link to where you can look for stations in your area?
Keep requesting HMW!! and dont just request it, show ADD to other people so they can request it too. Blake had a TON of fans from idol, and now all those fans have to hear his music! Remember last summer when he had Sport Arenas full of people screaming for him?? they’re all waiting to hear his music! we need to get his song high on the charts, keep on requesting.

One suggestion for the ST is you need to start cutting deals with other ST and official MySpace fansites to exchange slots in the Top friends section. It gives Blake more exposure. Plus you should have DJ and radio station sites in the Top friends and get yourselves out of it. Right now it comes across like another place for Teamplaid to chat and that’s not the right impression. You’ve got to make some big efforts to grow it out beyond this group.
Also there is a Blaker Girl ST. Are you guys going to work together or are the two sites competing? If you aren’t competing then you should be exchanging Top Friends slots.
You also need a ST Facebook and a ST Live Journal. If you are going to do this do it all the way.
Hummus– You bring up some good points. I guess we were so busy this week trying to get our wheels turning we didn;t think about some of those other points. The promo stuff is work, and I guess one gets myopic about it.
Never before have I tried to “help” a musician get airplay, requested songs, or gone to such an effort. It still feels foreign, if a necessary thing for Blake. Like I told him last year, I just want to support him in his efforts. I may have stammered it at the time, but I am sincere in wanting to be a help. To go to the efforts I have for an artist is so out of character for me, but he does feel like a faraway friend now, you know? So, I put my nickel’s worth forward.
Maybe that’s the deal with being a “good” musician/artist. If you do your job and inspire feeling in people, they will step forward to help. Hmmm.

Thanks for bringing good points that were overlooked. You are right, the whole idea is to increase Blake’s fan base, so others can help spreading the word. Just like Bully, I have never been that much involved in supporting the artist. So it is a learning process how to do it most effectively.
