I don’t think a petition would work. I think it would fall on deaf ears. I think a call or email would be more effective.

As of this morning. We have no format starters. The song now has 50 spins in Palm Springs which is good, but the spin loss that was occurring there last week looks to have shifted to Grand Rapids with a -17 there and a few minuses in other places but Grand Rapids looks to be the hardest hit this morning.

Thanks for posting that video of Blake! He sounded lovely that night. I have no idea how he ended up in the bottom 3 the next day. The studio recording of WTSGB is so beautiful. It’s my favorite from his EP that was on itunes.

If I remember correctly, I think Blake said in an interview that he was sick when he performed that night. It’s possible that some assumed he was safe. I know a lot of people said they were surprised to see Blake in the bottom 3 that night.

I’m one of those people that believe that the bottom 3 isn’t always the bottom 3 “vote getters”. Unless Ryan actually says those words, I think idol mixes it up just to scare certain fanbases into voting, or to bring drama to the show. Like when Chris Richardson got eliminated, I don’t believe for one second that Chris and Blake were both in the bottom 2. I think they put Blake in there for the drama of the two BFFs. That moment did make for some great TV. It was sad seeing them both there together. That’s my conspiracy theory and I am sticking to it! LOL

That’s exactly the way I saw it. It was really unfair to Blake what the show did that night. They made him look like the “bad” guy. I don’t think votes are tampered with either. When the judges all praised Blake after WTSGB, I was a bit baffled. In my mind, it wasn’t that good. And, CRich wasn’t good that night either, and they roasted him. Looking back, I sort of think that night was when it was evident the producers were backing Blake to go farther in the show (I suppose others saw it earlier). And, the same night they decided not to back CRich anymore, when they’d been praising him like crazy up to then on some performances that were IMO not that good. I thought both of the boys had a bad night on country night, but one was thrown under the truck and the other was praised. Just my two cents, fwiw.

Crystal J– well, you must already know StarsGoBlue is one of my favs of Blake’s recordings last year. I think that perhaps the Judges were pleased and surprised Blake pulled out a “country” song, because let’s face it, they prolly thought that he would stink or not know what to sing or whatever. I think it was a wise move on Blake’s part, singing a good song that had gone “country” with Tim MacGraw just the year before. Who could argue, after Tim doing it, it WASN’T country, eh?;-)

It was a smart song choice, and for me, showed that SimplyRed voice that I felt was so marketable. Yeah, he flubbed a line in the song, but he totally faked his way out of it. heh. When I see him sing it now, I just think of it as a turning-point performance.
YMMV, all that. :-)

I do agree on the ChrisRich back-off tho. They’d been praising him, and then all of a sudden that one week, they almost made him cry. Watching that in re-runs this winter(and realizing WTH) I was almost bawling with him. It might have been VA Tech shooting week, FWIW.

The tickets are supposed to be available on the station wbesite. But I think they will be available starting Monday. I also got a response from the place where the concert will be and the girl who sent me the email said that the tickets can be also purchased on ticketweb. I do not think they are listed yet. The WSPK station is a bit different in some of the others in that it has both BA and HMW on it. I think that is pretty cool. This is the same station hosting K-Fest.

Also, I think someone at Team Blake dropped the ball in not submitting an MP3 to them of HMW. His is the only song for which you can’t play a sample of from the Mediabase request forms. I hate seeing the blinking speaker symbol for everything but his song. :o(

Yes, they did play HMW. The DJ said he actually preferred BA, because of all that Blake put of himself and his skills into it, but they played HMW, and the DJ was nice.

I agree! It can’t hurt him to make some friends at these stations. I’d like to think that some of that will go beyond just the visit. Just like the producers and musicians he worked with on ADD, he’s laying some good groundwork for the future. Maybe it won’t all come thru right now, but I think it will help him in the long run.

No. That is the site where you can request them to play the song at any time. Here is the 20 on 20 voting site. It says every 5 minutes, but it doesn’t seem to make you wait the 5 minutes before you vote again.
