Just Check ITunes Pop 100 Songs and Blake has moved up from 38 this morning to 28. I know its not the top 100 songs, but nice to see it climbing.
Eileen - he shouldn’t be far off from entering the Main 100 then. Doesn’t that happen when they get to around 20 in the Pop ranking? I am like CFB, any increase is good. And, like Lisa said, long-term effect is unknown. I hope he is able to do some more promos where the sound is not problematic.
Is it likely that we won’t start seeing radio play until next week then?

Seven favorites Blake?!?! LMAO I guess I can’t make fun of him too much, because I have 4 (it was 5 before last night *sniff*). I’m liking the lack of controversial statements in the recent interviews.
I feel like most of the really harshly negative comments that I’ve seen have been from people who clearly weren’t going to like it anyway. Anything that’s prefaced by “Blake has no talent/Blake should never have made the F2/Blake’s career is over and he sux” I can’t take too seriously. What I am SLIGHTLY disappointed in is that it didn’t get a massively positive reaction. I have to admit, I was (unrealistically) hoping that it would shoot up the charts and everyone would love it, and instead it’s been kind of “Blake performed and it was OK/good, and then X was voted off…” That’s fine. Maybe it’ll just move up a bit more slowly. Afterall, I think Hallelujah and Imagine were the only songs that have rocketed up on iTunes this season, and both were considered breakout performances.

Blake must be very close to being on the top 100 overall now that he’s number 28 in pop. Fergie’s Big Girls Don’t cry is number 23 in pop and number 100 overall. I hope he makes the top 100!

I still think that ADD will do better in Europe. A tour with One Republic or Maroon 5 would be a bonus. :) HMW sounds different on his cd when all the audio is perfectly mastered so it will hopefully do well on radio. Blake makes every performance different and thats why I love him. He will do fine regardless of what happens. I believe in miracles, you sexy thing, LOL.

HMW is now showing up on the i-tunes feed at #107 (overall) That is the first time I’ve seen it show up there today where I could actually see it. The top 100 is obviously better, but this is a start. :)

Lisa….that was an excellent point. As far as the AI audience response to Blake….. We CAN’T really tell that just from watching last night.
I think there are many new AI watchers every year…yes some repeaters like we are….but a raft of new ppl. Who knows how familiar or passionate that particular group from last night is about Blake. I think those who know him, love him. Those who don’t will learn to….thus the real reason last night can have a huge impact for him in the future. I hope he tours. My niece and Blake have been friends since Junior High and are still always in touch. She saw the Idol Tour concert twice last summer. The audience was totally geeked for Blake, more than anyone else, and she said the shows were incredible. I’m not worried about him. We’ll see him receive a grammy in the future. “Awwww…. and Blake we hardly knew ye.”

His performance last night was awesome, I loved watching him.

Sometimes I tend to think Blake’s music isn’t very mainstream, it’s a bit of a stretch for people who like the same stuff but hey, they may have liked it.
I guess in Europe people listen to more of this electro dance 80’s pop than in the USA where they just love Daughtry pop rock kind of music. JMHO.
I hope he gets to tour with M5, that would be huge exposure for Blake and a chance to gain new fans.
1R is of course going to be doing some joint dates with Maroon 5 on the last couple days this month and then on the 4th & 6th of April.

As far as Blake’s music not being mainstream, I have to respectfully disagree. Blake’s CD was made to be catered towards a pop audience. BA was just not the right choice for a first single. There are tons of songs on that CD that would fit into top 40 radio formats if DJ’s would be willing to give him a chance. HMW had over 8K downloads the week that A.D.D. was released without even being a single so that’s why I have to disagree with that statement and of course the public tends to be very fickle, have short attention spans, and are easily ready to move on to whatever the next big thing is. There are songs that get released that sound mainstream but don’t always become hits.
I’m gonna be on radio tomorrow! TOMORROW! People will get to hear this uhmaaaaazing song! :]

ITunes - briefly in the Top 100 at #90.. its in the threshold. Radio play should really help. In Pop, its in the lower 20’s.
HMW at #87 on overall, #28 on Pop, ADD #58 overall, #13 Pop
If I just open iTunes ADD is showing up at #8 in Pop - good PR.

I keep watching the HMW performance, and I think my favorite part is near the end where he sings “No more words….it’s over….I’ve got to set you free” and he sort of tilts his head back on “Set you free”. Very sexy.
I went to Walmart yesterday and of course wandered through the music section. They had one lonely Blake CD. So I bought it. It had a Q44 on the tag. I think it was still from the original order because it had a sticker on it for the video download which expired after the first of the year. Hopefully now, they will have to order more!

In iTunes, when scrolling through all the albums, it’s easy to find ADD with all the pretty pinky, purpley colors and his ‘big ole head’

I’m pleasantly surprised with all the numbers right now. If the stations would start playing the song, that would hopefully keep the momentum going.
I have heard mixed reviews about the performance. My sister being one of them. I asked her what she thought, and she said she didn’t like the beginning so she fasted forward through it. I told her to watch it agian all the way through, so she did. After that, she said it was a pretty song. Then I told to go and streamline it through AOL. She did, and said that she liked it even more. She then went and downloaded it from i-tunes( with a little push from me.) So, yea:D

I think my “help Blake extra-sensory perception” must be working. I don’t go to Yes very often but the last three times I went I got there in time to cast a Yes vote AND the site worked!
Mediabase shows one HAC spin for HMW (don’t think it was there yesterday). I think that HMW has a lot more potential on HAC than BA - although I know that HAC stations vary a lot in what they play.

Those screencaps are to die for. The room was spinning for me too, for a minute there! LOL. Eldest came over to see what i was agog about. I said, Oh, the colors….and then I think I babbled something, I dunno! heh. She liked them too.
Oh and Lisa? Thank you for what you said last night, about the people watching Blake on Idol, and maybe being there for different contestants…and him having to win all new tv watchers, as the watchers change with every year. It’s really true. I didn’t watch until S4, about half of it, and didn;t get really absorbed until S5. I also know alot of people who didn;t watch until they saw Blake on their TV screen, so yeah, it changes some with every year. I forgot that.
PS. Good job Anne, winning another body over! My extended family tends to roll their eyes at me, so i feel how hard it must have been for you!
