This is still America, and people still have the right to free speech, and being able to express themselves without fear. We ALL want that freedom, right?? I know I do! I want to be able to express myself, why is it so awful that someone like Blake should want that same right too?
He isn;t saying mean things, and he isn;t hurting anybody. I think this whole thing is something that fandom is using to promoting hating– and make room for their next “new thing”. We don;t need to destroy what we have to make room for something new. There is always room for one more, folks.
*sigh* Glad we have fandom supporting Blake here, everybody. Nice to have a safe haven, and amiable companionship.

On a sidenote– I was totally brave. My family asked about Blake when they saw Youngest’s awesome dancing in the snowflakes pic from christmastime, and I used it to talk about AudioDayDream! Trying not to babble, I gave them a test-pressing, and get them interested enough to really listen. They seemed amenable to try, so I sent along my extra copy of ADD. If they actually listen, being from the 80’s themselves and having friend that are as well? Perhaps it will create a little ripple otherwise it would not have.

I came across this article. I thought it was kind of funny. It talks about how some of the military people watch Idol…..and God forbid……they slammed little David. Let’s see if it gets as big a reaction as Blake did. Would people dare to rag on the military for expressing their opinions? Let’s see!

Military doesn’t like David

I have found it’s better not to venture into places that we know are anti-territory. lol Getting worked up over that stuff doesn’t really do us any good or at least I’ve found that to be the case. I know it’s frustrating to see stuff like that though. We will never be able to please the haters anyway so I say just let them be. lol

I don’t go to the places that are mean and run by a-holes who encourage that type of thing and suspend those that actually try to leave positive thoughts and opinions. I’ve seen that too many times at some of them in the past.

I used to post and/or lurk on a few, until they became overrun by trolls, who actually don’t have real opinions, just have bashing on their minds. My thoughts are that anyone who only has bad things to say about someone or something, can’t actually be using their minds to form real fact, or even feeling, based opinions. Their isn’t a celebrity out there that doesn’t have something positive that you can notice about them. If you are actually paying attention to the person and not some pre-conceived thought about them. If you are constantly bashing anyone, then you ain’t got the brain working correctly.

To get stuck on vomitting negative posts, means that person has closed their mind and isn’t even using their brain properly anymore. To think, you have such logic and abilities in your head and to not use them is sad. Makes me feel sad for those people, not mad. They just have bad habits and closed-minded actions. Oh, yeah and their idiots too….okay maybe sometimes I get mad at SOME of them.

Now, I’ve finally found this site and love to come here and listen to the mostly mature posting that everyone here throws down. Even when we don’t agree with his actions, or latest facial hair, or clothing choice, 99% of the people here deal with that maturely and with proper reactins.

I feel what you are saying. I fear for our society when so much uncalled-for, unthinking, and repetitive venom is allowed free reign. Negativity is so much easier to promote and maintain. I guess it’s more popular and feeds on itself. Negativity seems to go along with lack of respect for anything. It’s also sad when honesty, integrity, and self-awareness are attacked and made fun of so vigorously. Negativity is a fact of life, and there are so many outlets for it.

I do not think he is a converted Blaker (LOL) but it was funny that he was looking for more information about Blake on his own.

As far as turning around, you never know. Maybe your husband might not be into Blake’s music, but I have a feeling that Blake will be exploring other arts forms, and your spouse might become a fan of his improv or comedy interests.

I agree, but even our kinda negative comments we make aren’t bashing considering we want what is best for B. I love how we can say what we want here w/o being offensive even if we don’t always agree with eachother.

Kasia and Vicki– I heard Blake’s KOOL interview when I was up late waiting for he guests to get here.The kids were asleep, and Spouse came out, hearing me chuckling to myself! heh. Well today at lunch, I played the interview for them to all hear too! They weren’t all OOoh! and AAah! about it, but it still got a great response because they actually stayed to listen! :-) Different stuff got different opinions, but they all fell in with it, and I think despite Spouse’s intent, he enjoyed it. It led to a nice AI discussion too, and the Clark Brothers coming on next week with Dolly Parton, for which he is psyched. I mention it because, if our family lets us, our Blake obsession can be something we can share you know? I don;t want to hoarde it all to myself. :-D

newduck– you helped put things in a cerebral way, and that helps me take away it’s negative power. There is something wrong with people who feel the need to recreationally spew negative thought. It’s not about their intended target, anymore, it’s about THEM.

Re: the Military, Kellie Pickler has a USO Diary on CMT this afternoon, and it was really nice so far. I’d recommend catching it, for a view of the other side. We don;t often get to go places like that, and Kellie is beautifully responsive.

If I am a 17-year-old going through all the crap and pressure during the AI competition, I would feel hurtful after hearing what my fellow contestant said about me and my family in radio. I would feel hurtful after being beaten up and shut in a closet during tour by a bully who is 9 years older than me.

As for David A’s fans, some of them are just nuts. Some latitude can be given because many of are young and lacking in maturity and life experience, but some of them are getting as crazy and demented as the Claymates. It doesn’t help that nearly every week David A. sings a song in which the lyrics are about hope and inspiraton, which encourages some poor, lonely, lost people to regard him in a religious/spiritual sense. Not healthy.

Blake disclosed this himself in an interview. I think somebody here should be able to pinpoint which one. But I couldn’t remember.

Dani, Blake said once that he shut Sanjaya in a closet during tour because Sanjaya was having ADD and bothering people. I like your posts a lot and hope to see you speak more often here.

Absolutely. It is nice when you can disuss things with your close ones. On the other hand, I am just speaking for myself, if my husband was not as accepting, that would be fine with me. We share interest in classical music and other activities, and I can find satisfaction talking about Blake’s music here.

Thank you Lisa. That’s the interview. Now listen to it again, it feels more outrageous than before. Archie is very lucky not be in the same year of Blake. I can’t imagine how Archie feels if he gets beaten up or shut into a closet by Blake. On the other hand, Blake might not even make top 10 this year so maybe I got nothing to worry about after all.

I’ve long been a fan of Blake’s music but more and more I’m glad I never went fangirly about him as a person.

We know from what Blake has said before that he feels nothing but friendship for Sanjaya. There was no brutalization, of an adult vs. minor. We should not blow up what was a small incident that was admitted to in candid sharing. Are any of us with siblings free of any squabbles turning even into wrestling or even fisticuffs? sheesh.

If Blake or anyone else had been mistreating Sanjaya, or acted menacing, I would think that would not have been tolerated period. Sanjaya was an important part of the Tour, and a part of the whole.
