    Bully,

I mention it because, if our family lets us, our Blake obsession can be something we can share you know? I don;t want to hoarde it all to myself.

Absolutely. It is nice when you can disuss things with your close ones. On the other hand, I am just speaking for myself, if my husband was not as accepting, that would be fine with me. We share interest in classical music and other activities, and I can find satisfaction talking about Blake’s music here. :thumbup_tb:

  7. 57 newduck Mar 29th, 2008 at 5:31 pm

So everyone heard the interview at KOOL, FlA? Did you all listen to the podcast with the Kristy Lee Cook picture on the left hand side. They talk about Blake a little there also and he does a little intro.

PS - I’m not going to the “Did he diss Sanjaya/David A/Donald Duck’s mistress/whoever” area anymore…Been there, done that here and I think we’ve covered it pretty well a few times already.

Anyone that wasn’t here, can see the archives of that day and catch up, but maybe we don’t have to have a whole drawn out discussion that says all the same thing every time someone else comes and brings it up. Maybe we should just have the date in mind and post the date and tell people to go there to read the thoughts on that point???

  8. 58 melissa Mar 29th, 2008 at 5:37 pm

    dani,

I love your posts too. :)

I agree with what others said.

Was there a link posted for the KOOL Podcast? Please forgive me if I can’t find it. I’m operating on about 3-4 hours of sleep and tons of driving today.

  19. 69 Nic Mar 29th, 2008 at 8:57 pm

It kind of bothered me until I realized free speech goes both ways and for every action there is a reaction. It’s just their opinion too and those things weren’t said until Blake gave them an opening. *shrug*

    Hummus,

actually, quite a few of those folks bashing Blake were probably bashing Blake before he uttered a word about Sanjaya or Archuleta. I know he had his share of ‘haters’ well before any of the latest statements were made at those radio stations.

as for Blake saying he put Sanjaya in a closet, I want to hear the evidence before I believe *that* story.

  20. 70 Holly Mar 29th, 2008 at 9:04 pm

Yeah Nic, I NEVER heard about Blake putting Sanjaya in a closet ever….and I’ve heard tons of Blake interviews. I don’t believe it at all. Is there any proof of this?

  21. 71 Crystal J. Mar 29th, 2008 at 9:30 pm

There was the headlock story. But guys do stupid s**t like that to each other. That’s all I know about.

  22. 72 dani Mar 29th, 2008 at 9:48 pm

If that story is true.. it also could be blake’s way of telling Sanjaya to “come out of the closet”

  23. 73 melissa Mar 29th, 2008 at 10:32 pm

I hope that the closet thing isn’t true, because that would be horrible and abusive, especially if he was beaten up too.(which I think if those two got into a physical fight someone would have stopped him)I wish I was abled to message him about it, because I would like to know the truth.

  24. 74 Crystal J. Mar 29th, 2008 at 10:42 pm

Remember that there was always a chaperone around for Sanjaya.

  25. 75 melissa Mar 29th, 2008 at 10:46 pm

Remember that there was always a chaperone around for Sanjaya.

True, but maybe they were all getting fed up with him, and alowed the headlock, but the other, I am not sure of.

  26. 76 Lisa Mar 29th, 2008 at 11:25 pm

To be fair he did admit to locking Sanjaya up. It was the Boston KISS interview. I remember it clearly because when I listened to the interview I was a little taken back when he said it.

  27. 77 Linda Mar 29th, 2008 at 11:38 pm

Thank you Lisa. That’s the interview. Now listen to it again, it feels more outrageous than before. Archie is very lucky not be in the same year of Blake. I can’t imagine how Archie feels if he gets beaten up or shut into a closet by Blake. On the other hand, Blake might not even make top 10 this year so maybe I got nothing to worry about after all.

  28. 78 Crystal J. Mar 29th, 2008 at 11:45 pm

Frankly, I’ve long been an advocate of the minimum age being raised to 18.

  29. 79 Pam Mar 29th, 2008 at 11:47 pm

I agree Crystal. I think the kind of schedule these kids have where they are trying to finish school and compete on the show puts a lot of stress on them. I don’t know how some of them cope with it.

  30. 80 Crystal J. Mar 29th, 2008 at 11:53 pm

Yes Pam. Then having to deal with the whole chaperone business while on tour, child labor laws, and the like. Imagine the damper that puts on the other contestants having a chaperone around.

  31. 81 Bully Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:05 am

There was the headlock story. But guys do stupid s**t like that to each other. That’s all I know about.

Aww, come on. Guys living in close proximity, they are going to bicker and fight and lock each other in closets and stuff—like brothers do. It doesn;t make it “right”, but stuff happens like that, and even fisticuffs. Nobody was hurt, and boys do stuff like that to each other all the time.

FWIW, I *would* like to see the minimum age lifted to 18 for Idol. More maturity for the contestants would be better, for performance. It would also stop the OMG!Only 16!!!111!! blabbing.

  32. 82 Linda Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:12 am

Talk about double standards. When a minor is mistreated by Blake, nobody cries for “reporting” anymore. Blake is given a pass for anything by his fans. It is Sanjaya’s fault that he auditioned in 16, therefore still being a minor when he got beaten up and locked by adult Blake.

  33. 83 Kasia Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:12 am

    Linda,
With due respect, but you seem to make assumptions about how the two contestants would feel or are feeling about Blake’s comments. Unless the two boys confided in you or publicly responded to Blake’s interviews, it is just speculation on your part. It seems to me that there is a stronger reaction coming from fans of those two guys than from Sanjaya or David themselves about the whole situation. I do not follow the interviews closely, but I am not aware of either of them making any comments or responding to what Blake said.

  34. 84 Crystal J. Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:14 am

It would also stop the OMG!Only 16!!!111!! blabbing.

HeeHeeHee - I forgot about that reason.

  35. 85 star Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:16 am

Are you even a Blake fan? If you are, I apologize, but I don’t recall seeing you posting here until all this controversy started. And all of your posts thus far have been very passive-aggresive in nature. This is a FANSITE, so if you’re not a fan, this isn’t the place for you. We welcome all viewpoints here, but troublemakers, not so much.

  36. 86 Linda Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:19 am

Kasia, just because the two contestants did not comment, it doesn’t mean they wouldn’t feel hurt. It doesn’t mean Blake’s words are not hurtful, either. Yes, it is just speculation for now. Sanyaja has always been a gentleman, never bashing anyone. David A appears so, too. I guess maturity has nothing to do with age, isn’t it?

  37. 87 hummus Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:28 am

Blake shouldn’t have locked Sanjaya in the closet but the main problem is that he admitted it and didn’t seem to acknowledge he might have overreacted or should have treated a minor better. I’m sure John Stevens, Diana degarmo, Jasmine, Paris, Kevin, etc, got annoying at times too and never once has there been a story about one of the older contestants either putting their hands on them or bashing them in public.

I’ve long been a fan of Blake’s music but more and more I’m glad I never went fangirly about him as a person.

  38. 88 Bully Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:29 am

It still doesn;t detract away from the fact that–these guys were all living together in a mix mash family set up, and Sanjaya was like a younger brother. Younger brothers do get on the nerves of older brothers. That Blake did anything to Sanjaya does not mean he doesn;t bear him very sincere affection! It was a moment in time, a flare-up, and now long gone. People fight, it happens.

We know from what Blake has said before that he feels nothing but friendship for Sanjaya. There was no brutalization, of an adult vs. minor. We should not blow up what was a small incident that was admitted to in candid sharing. Are any of us with siblings free of any squabbles turning even into wrestling or even fisticuffs? sheesh.

If Blake or anyone else had been mistreating Sanjaya, or acted menacing, I would think that would not have been tolerated period. Sanjaya was an important part of the Tour, and a part of the whole.

  39. 89 star Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:37 am

RE: David A. being hurt by what Blake said. I’m sure there have been worse things said about David in the media/blogosphere than being called boring. People talk smack about all of the Idols. I remember last year, people kept making fun of Melinda for saying she had no neck and looked like Shrek. If someone isn’t mentally strong enough to handle comments like that, they shouldn’t be putting themselves out there on AI in the first place.

  40. 90 Kasia Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:40 am

    Linda,

It doesn’t mean Blake’s words are not hurtful, either. Yes, it is just speculation for now.

Well, if this is just speculation on your part, I am just wondering if there is any point in even bringing it up. If David or Sanyaja do not have problem with Blake’s comments, I guess I do not understand why you should be concerned more about the situation than they are. :ponder_tb:

  41. 91 ilikebunnies Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:40 am

EOTW, they are trashing the military.

OMG, are you freaking kidding? That ish is ridiculous. It’s a really big turnoff to me. Clay was hurt by his crazyass fans, and it’s looking like David A. will be too. I really enjoyed the article, and I can’t imagine trashing them for using the freedoms that they make possible for all of us.

Anyway, I think locking Sanjaya in a closet is immature, but my 24 year old, totally grownup cousins got in a wrestling match around Christmas…over a chair. So it sounds like typical stupid boy behavior to me. Weird that he goes around talking about it though.

  42. 92 Crystal J. Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:43 am

It is Sanjaya’s fault that he auditioned in 16, therefore still being a minor when he got beaten up and locked by adult Blake.

Linda - my discussion about raising the age to 18 has zero to do with your posting. I preferred to discuss something like the minimum age than to bicker back and forth over something that’s already been covered. I was trying to change the subject. Or, to put it more bluntly, I was ignoring the negative posts.

  43. 93 Crystal J. Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:48 am

Again, you’re inferring “closet” when Blake said “locked up.” I took that to mean wrestling. We all know Blake has been known to exaggerate to some extent anyway. Since we are all speculating…

  44. 94 Bully Mar 30th, 2008 at 12:54 am

ilikebunnies—Thank you for providing me with an example so quickly! LOL. Like I said, that stuff happens. It’s dumb, and sometimes regrettable but when he was asked about traveling together on a bus for Tour and getting along, he copped to it.

  45. 95 dani Mar 30th, 2008 at 1:43 pm

    GUYS!!!

If BlaKE did lock sanjaya in a closet I still think it was his way of “telling him to come out of the closet”

  46. 96 Daniel Apr 7th, 2008 at 8:58 am

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Chat - 3/29/08 at Team Plaid, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
