It’s a bloodbath over at Rickeys!

*Do I have an awful sense of humor to think this is all so funny?*

    End of the World,

I think it’s kind of funny too, really, in a dark and culturally significant way…but my sense of humor is a little skewed. They will eventually wear themselves out, I think!

    Michelle,

he should be taking more control of the direction of these interviews and use them to promote his single and album

I think Blake is talking about the cd and HMW quite a lot but when questions are asked about AI experience, he answers them. I am not sure what else he could do; change the subject or decline to talk about the AI experince. I did not listen to all interviews but the parts when he talked about the AI contestants seemed to be realy minor portion of the interview. Also, as we saw, the quality of the interview depends on the questions that are asked. Some Djs did awesome job in pulling more information about his music.

As far as Rickey.org, I will only say, the quality of comments and tone of comments are as good as the moderator will allow to be.

Is it my imagination, or is the sound WAY off on AI tonight? I think the background singers, and sometimes the band, are drowning out some of the contestants. Just seems too loud for me, and competing with the vocals.

According to All Access, HMW was added to 5 stations today. Here are the stations with the song’s chart position there.

    WFLY-FM Albany, NY (#63)
    KHOP-FM Modesto, CA (#108)
    WDJQ-FM Canton, OH (#128)
    WXXX-FM Burlington, VT (#137)
    WSPK-FM Newburgh, NY (#139)

Pam - isn’t that a different Canton station than the one that played BA?

  8. 58 Kasia Mar 25th, 2008 at 10:08 pm

    Pam,

You are on top of the things. LOL. Thanks.

    Yep, it is. :)

That number isn’t the chart position. It has nothing to do with the song. It’s the station’s market ranking.

    Oh ok. Gotcha.

Glad to see WFLY finally on the add list. They had Blake as a “Hot Pick”, but were not playing the song…which seemed weird. Thanks for the info Pam!

  14. 64 music4me Mar 25th, 2008 at 11:08 pm

Does “adds” mean the song is added to the station’s playlist? If so, good news about the Albany station!

    End of the World,

I think Boring-gate is funny, too, in a dark and culturally significant way. Maybe they will tire soon, with all the jumping on the bandwagon.

I think all of us need to step up and continue requesting this song at every local top 40 station locally. This song certainly has hit potential, we just need to get it played so the general public can get exposed to it. Simple as that.

  19. 69 Bully Mar 25th, 2008 at 11:21 pm

Nothing simple about it, Jason. But we are trying!

    “Boring-Gate”! LOL.

Maybe this Blake-David-Sanjaya thing will blow over. Maybe AI just needed some controversy for S7.

I do hope Blake gets more opportunities to talk music, because he does do better there. Of course, he is not visiting jazz stations. I have never really noticed Top 40 / HAC station DJs really discuss music. They mostly talk gossip.

Blake has posted a blog on MS. You can read it here.
