Isn;t it wierd how the DJs all seem to know and like Blake when they talk to him? I was wondering about this thing with the FreeRadio show, if there wouldn’t be a swell of good feeling for him, if enough DJs showed an interest.
Contraversial!Blake did make an appearance at the VH1 show, and maybe dispelling the kneejerk reaction of goody two-shoes AI contestant is still on the agenda. Hmm.

I made an on-line request to two of my local stations: KBIG and KIIS here in L.A. last night, but I requested How Many Words, so I doubt that is why KIIS suddenly showed up. If it was just KIIS showing up, I would maybe think that was it, but all the other stations showing up makes me think there is something bigger going on. But in my own warped little mind, I will think that I made some sort of difference. And also jenlar and music4me did also! Woot Woot!

I’m positive that it’s the first time it’s been played in Atlanta, but I’d like confirmation from Pam on it, too.

Short version of the request call:
I just called in a request and the DJ said that he thinks the song is “pretty cool” and pretty new to them and that he’d try to play it for me.

Long version of the request call:
I just called in a request and the DJ didn’t understand at first and when I said it again (added with “y’all played it for the very first time this morning and I’m so excited!”) he said “oh yeah! that’s a pretty cool song!” I said yes it is, and that I’ve been enjoying it for a couple of months now and I’m really excited that they finally got their copy. He said that it’s very new for them, but to give him a little time and he’d try to get it on for me.

Hehe… then he had me do a canned request for Nelly Furtado (which I recorded, of course lol)

From what I can recall, when BA first went to KIIS LA was the week that Blake did the interview with Ryan. It got 2 spins that week and then no more.

I check Yes occasionally, but not as much as I used to since the airplay had slacked off so much, but just as a best guess, I would say that is an absolute first for you guys! EEEP! I couldn’t be happier for you!

I’m looking at the yes site right now and I see those stations and let me tell you, with the exception of KIIS LA, I don’t recognize any of the rest of those! They are definitely new to my eyes anyway!

I have to agree with Lisa on the time zone thing. It could have been a syndicated radio show playing in different time zones, but whatever the reason, that is still all good!

For those who pay good attention to the YES site, the time that is displayed on your screen when the song pops up is whatever time zone it is being played in. In other words, right now east coast time if a song pops up it would be 12:37 pm but if the song pops up at that exact same time and there is a 2 hour difference, it would show up as 10:37 am. In other words, the time that pops up there each time the song is played is according to what time zone the station is in. Most of us in here that have used that site know that, but for those that haven’t, that is how the time of a song is displayed. Sorry for the long explanation. lol

It’s nice to see it show up on these stations, but I’ll be way more excited if it shows up again.

Can I say that radio station web sites are terrible? I looked at many of them and they don’t give a programming guide. Why not? It would be useful.

ITA - I thought for sure there would be a programming schedule. I was looking at a few stations (with different owners), and none of them were better than the other.

ETA: I would like to know in what context it was played. I noticed a station in Guam is scheduled to air the show in a couple of hours. I have to run out for a bit, but this appears to be a link to the stream if anyone is interested. I may try to listen if I’m back before it’s over.

It’s pretty similar to what HMW looks like now in the sense of the format leaders and starters being nonexistent but at least for once it’s not sitting in the minus column. lol

The DJ I just spoke with confirmed that they did play it, though. Also, if you take into account the time difference, they really did play at different times. East coast/west coast played 2 hours difference. Possibly he’s in syndicated rotation?

You know what this means, doncha? Clive and Arista nudged the door open for Blake! Yay! *does Snoopy dance* Right now the thought of the picture of Clive holding Blake’s little face in his hands seems prophetic. Maybe seeing him at the Grammy’s and hearing about the Roots party etc made him remember WHY it is he liked Blake so much??

This makes me HAPPY. If he can get played a guaranteed couple times a day in a big format and get heard, this could mean a big chance.:-D

Maybe so, he is more comfortable with being the “anti” Idol, but I still believe it is strategic to an extent, image-making. I know he wore the bandanna for more than his throat reasons, and it fits in that badboy theory. Personally, I prefer him when he is more serene and conversational.

True, and while I do find his honestly refreshing sometimes I do think he tends to give TMI at times. Still love how he doesn’t try to change for anyone, I just worry that his honestly is sometimes anamul(sp) for the haters.

But…it appears that isn’t what’s happening. The FOX syndicated radio show pj found is where the spins came from. The stations themselves didn’t choose to play it.

Like I said, I’m not going to get too excited about it unless they continue to play it.

Don’t forget to watch “Idols Where Are They Now” on the TV Guide channel tonight. Maybe they will show Blake. I think it is on at 8 and 9 o’clock.

Seriously? That’s our local KISS FM Station, 103.5. I wonder when and what time. I wish Mediabase would give that info.

BA is popping up on YES, with the same song on either side of it again. I found a live feed of one of the stations and I’m checking it out. They’re talking about AI now. It’s just a national radio show, just like that website says. I don’t know about y’all, but I don’t think that it’s a bad thing that he’s on it at all! If it’s a national show *and* it’s in our listening area, there should be no moral dilemma with any of us requesting BA for next week :)
