Completely OT, but does anyone know what is on the chain Blake wears around his neck? I’ve seen it in a lot of pics and I’m really curious.

    Hey Barbariba,
He wears a celtic emblem from his mother from one of our trips to Ireland about 5 years ago.

He has a few others that he switches to once in a while.

I have been really enjoying the chat in the last thread and this one. Shayne love that article from Comos you scanned.

I am glad everyone is using my half full and half empty analogy it really does help when you realize not everyone going to see things way you do. Helps keep things in perspective. I hope the new single does every thing we all are hoping for.

Thanks Dallas. Ive seen pictures of him wearing it and figured it had some special meaning.

    CFB,

I really loved the way that jenlar worded it in the previous thread. She summed it up so nicely and I think it really put things into perspective and I hope the same for Blake as well and I’m sure we all do. :)

    Big D,

I’ve always wondered about that necklace but didn’t want to ask a question fearing it would come off to look like someone who was being noisy. lol Thank you for stopping by as always and being willing to answer questions. :)

You know ,I am just watching VH1 Top 20 countdown and in the top 5 videos there is Daughtry with “Feels Like Tonight” and Jordin with “Tattoo”. Of course, no Blake.

I wish be would br there too, of course it doesn’t help that the BA video was not good and very cheap. Hey, IMO even Bo Bice with an independent label has a much better video for his single “Witness” than Blake. I really can’t understand why Arista did not gave him much money for his debut video. IT was an important marketing tool. People just did not cared for his video.

I am hoping the second single is promoted well and they keep investing money on him. He is fading from the spotlight and he needs a Hit to recover.
Please Arista, don’t let him fade away!

I like looking at the “How Stuff Works” website. Looking around, I found this:

    How Top 40 Radio Works

It is an interesting read. A lot of people (including me!) keep wondering how all this works. This answered a lot of questions for me. Hope it is OK to post this here.

    mara,

Hon, no offense, but you’re going to end up driving you’re blood pressure up. Try and relax, ok? You would never be able to handle the angst in being a Melinda fan. Be grateful Blake is out there making music and you got a CD when you did.

I am hoping the second single is promoted well and they keep investing money on him.

The record buying industry is in the crapper big time and money is running low as it it, Blake is not making Arista money right now and contrary to what some believe they already did spend a lot of money on him. Whether they can continue to do so I really don’t know. Hopefully HMW will take off and at least pull in some money from downloads.

Shayne! *waves* Thank you for the scan! It made my morning brighter, no doubt. And yes Jenlar, Thank you.

Thanks also to BigD who answers from his vantage point high above Teamplaid! Celtic symbol, nice. I am(in part) Scotch, and really enjoy looking at all the jewelry designs and stuff at the Highland Games when they are here in summertime. It’s good to have that appreciation for our ancestry. :-) Maybe one day I’ll make it to Nova Scotia, where family emmigrated to, and where we were offered land once. They say it’s beautiful.

That StaxxBros vid really gave me the shot in the arm I was needing. I hope other people see it, and remember all the music and friends that Blake has out there. AudioDayDream is only a piece of the big talented pie. I for one can’t wait to hear more.

WJIM in Lansing just played Break Anotha (according to the YES site). According to the WJIM site: “This weekend is an American Idol weekend! We’ll kick off every hour with an Idol hit!”

YAY! At least Break Anotha will get some spins.

BigD! I had a thought, about Celtic jewelry that Dinah might like.
Valentine’s Day is coming, you know! :-)
Chamisa Ridge has very nice jewelry, all sorts of earrings and necklaces and such in Celtic design. Here’s a page, but check out the sidebar items too! Nice stuff, good quality.

EOTW, that was a very interesting read that you posted above about how the top 40 Radio works. This stood out about the DJ’s and PD as far as playing song on the radio.

Disc jockeys have not truly been making decisions on what to play for many years. The job falls to the program directors (PDs) who develop lists that direct the DJ on what to play and when to play it.

Seems after reading that article it really comes down to needing songs on the top 40. Thanks for posting.

    I am(in part) Scotch

Bully - I think you meant to say part Scottish, lol. :wink_wp:
    Scotch is whiskey. :drunk_tb:

I’ve done a lot of genealogy research, as well as having worked in the Reading Rooms at the National Archives. I used to get all sorts of characters coming in.

  21. 21 Bully Feb 2nd, 2008 at 3:57 pm

    Yeah Crystal J, I’m a character! LOL! :-D
    –and yes, Scottish, Scotch/Irish! heehee!

Alot of information was lost over the WW’s and immigration, and my grandpa was an orphan. I guess it’s bene researched more in the past, but while certain ties bind me to that culture(big time) I really want to live a life of peace and acceptance that being a warlike Highland Scots does not afford. Demarcation of character, temper and traits are amazing however, looked at thru the lens of understanding of where you come from. No mistaking that.
