Since I’ve been out of the loop this weekend, Did I miss anything on Blake? My boyfriend tells me I’m obsessed, I say I’m dedicated=0)

My boyfriend had one show friday night and then lastnight they did a “battle of the bands” and won…yip thats right, they won.

FWIW the songs that are stuck in my kids heads are HMW and KMN. They pretty much have no choice but to listen to the CD everytime they are in the car with me. Hee. But they both brokedown last night and downloaded those two songs on their ipods. Along with She’s Making Me Loose It. Though HMW is my daughters favorite, and KMN is my son’s.

–and Blake, if bychance you are reading us here? I mean that affection only in a good way! LOL.

pj, thank you for the Ryan interview. It sounds like Blake had more say in the production of the Ryan tracks than I had originally thought.

Who thought of the questions to ask the ADD band? These guys are so interesting musically, just from reading about their musical influences, and listening to some of their work. Perhaps if the questions were about music, we’d get to see them from a whole different perspective.

This one’s for Bully, an interview with 107.5 - just after Blake completed ADD. I haven’t heard it before, so if you haven’t either, here’s Blake with Woody and Jim.

I had a thought while doing chores outside today, and that is; Maybe to the bandmembers, being in Blake’s group is like THEIR version of putting up with AI. They haven’t grown to fit their container, and so it seems all sell-out and wierd sometimes compared to what they normally would do on their own. However, it’s a huge experience, that they can grow a ton from, and so they need to not jank the execs.(or Blake)

Idol came relatively easy too, to Blake, and it was a huge opportunity. It did take cooperation and growth from him. Growing to fit his confines he gave us so MUCH to be happy about S6! StarsGoBlue, SWBL, and TOTS for examples there. Maybe when he looks back he sees how much he *did* grow, and that maybe it was for his own good.
It remains to be seen whether the guys are willing to suck it up, and move on towards the future. They’re still proving it, to me.

Another site currently has some interviews in with a few of the ADD guys and are just waiting for the answers. The questions lean more toward musical. I’ll be sure to post a link when we post the interviews. These guys are true artists with many facets to their art. I loved reading the PHJ interview again. :)

Putting all jokes aside, Johnny is a very intelligent man and you can tell that from that interview and his choice of words. He is not someone obviously with a low IQ. However, I do agree that sometimes he makes statements that he needs to be very careful of because you are being watched and heard by cooperate sometimes when you might not think you are and it can come back to hurt you later. I don’t any of them mean any harm, but you do have to be careful.

Isabel, thanks for the Woody & Jim interview! I laughed so hard at some points I could have cried! That was priceless! It was nice to be able to finally find how he ended up in Jordin’s Tattoo vid. LOL

My pc is acting better, but still having some issues online. I’m glad these links are working today for me. It’s frustrating when they don’t, or freeze.
I’m still smiling and grateful for the Woody and Jim interview. It’s been a good day, so far.

Well, you’ve heard what most people say about Blake, once you get him talking about music, you can’t get him to shut up! Hee! Jenlar, that was a wonderful find indeed! :D

Not for anything but in that Jeremy interview I feel his answer about how corporate rock being lame in regard to how ADD changed his life is, how can I put this? Tacky? Maybe he didn’t mean it the way it sounded to me but I thought it sounded bad. To be perfectly honest I was also annoyed when Johnny Nails publically said he wanted to screw with network execs when he complained about Fox making them sing to a backing track. These guys may want to be a little more appreciative of the opportunity they have right now, because without Blake, Arista, Simon Fuller and the so-called corporate rock they weren’t going to get much further. JMO.

I didn’t see anything wrong with it, I always knew that Blake’s friends are opinionated.

That interview is 100% love! That guy asked some really awesome questions and, in turn, provoked some really awesome conversation with Blake!

Whether they (or we) realize it or not, all of them are now in the public eye and that’s something to keep in mind. It’s one thing to be brutally honest and look (or sound) like an ass, and it’s another thing to be brutally honest all the while choosing your words carefully to make sure you come off in a positive light. Sometimes, you have censor yourself the tiniest bit (or as I call it, being diplomatic) to avoid looking like a complete tool. That is not “not being true to yourself”. It’s having a little sense to know what needs to be out in the open and what doesn’t.

Something else to keep in mind - spin can go both ways. The media can be really brutal if they want to be, no matter HOW the comment was intended. That’s one reason to watch what you say.

Blake sounded so happy when he’s talking about music and his fans! We’ve all said it a million times, but he makes it *so easy* to be a fan. He really is proud about running that myspace, too!

Thank you for that link. Interesting that Ryan Tedder thinks that they are musically different but Blake thinks they are similar (maybe because they both like Nikka Costa?). Unless Blake is secretly a Peter Gabriel fan, now that would surprise me!

I gave away a few copies of ADD - the male friends “got” the album, concept, everything, on the first listen. With the female ones - the response was slower, especially with Break Anotha. But the kids and teenagers loved Break Anotha and the album (small recruitment drive, I had my children give ADD to their friends for Christmas).

I’m somewhat amused when Blake says um, he’s not a huge fan of Timbaland’s. As a self-confessed avant-garde snob, I say good for you Blake!

So, Break Anotha is a Clive Davis’ “executive produced” track. Damn, Blake gets to turn down a Timbaland beat, but couldn’t say no to Clive. Well, you learn something new every day.

I had heard “Break Anotha” was Clive’s baby somewhere, but can’t remember where? Maybe the interview on Blake’s official site?
