I made this statement in the previous thread because I didn’t realize you had moved this here, but I remember that quite well! That was probably one of the best compliments an artist could receive and to know it was meant about ONLY Blake spoke volumes!

If you read this, getting back to what you said about all the silence with no news, from what Kent told us last night and from some of the bulletins I’ve seen on the Kent fanspace, that the guys were enjoying some downtime and are really excited about touring but that’s all that was said there. Of course from what Kristi said last week, Blake has been in Seattle for the past week or two just having some downtime other than just the purchasing of his new home and of course from what Big D told us, he’s now in LA in meetings and of course getting the “tats” :D and that’s basically all we know at this point. I know that the fans are getting antsy with no news on tour dates or a single but I don’t think we will see anything concerning either till at least February.

Regarding tour, I posted some time ago that I asked Blake about tour dates. His response was ” I don’t think we will be touring till march.” That was some time ago, so things might or might not have changed. I quess we will have to wait for an official announcement but his response might give you at least some idea when to expect the concerts. I am sure they are as eager as we are to start the tour.

Yeah, I do remember that. So if indeed the tour does start in March, I don’t think there will be any dates forthcoming until next month. They are very eager to start touring! :)

There is a reason of course that Blake is in LA right now in these meetings but we just don’t know what it’s all about just yet. I figure in the next few weeks we will probably have a better idea of what has been happening and what is coming next. :) I can’t wait to see what’s coming next myself! :)

Thanks Mr. Lewis for all this info. I am so glad that ADD is still up there. You are right about giving ADD more time. LOL….maybe it’s the fans that have ADD, just kidding. I totally agree with you. I actually hope blake’s tour is over the summer…. my grades in school are slipping and I’ve been missing alot from gettimng sick and stuff so as much as I want him to tour now I hope he comes to AL during the summer like in late May (I get out of school like may 19 or something then go back early august)

Oh Marieel, I certainly do! In fact, that was shown on the bonus DVD of the documentary as well. Definitely a compliment! :)

Yes, I remember that statement too ;) And considering how many established artists sound much worse live, it’s probably true, heh. I’m still trying to forget that Fallout Boy performance on New Year’s. :/

About Blake’s voice, I think what is most appealing is the TONE. It’s just very smooth and pure sounding, which is probably why we love him so much on ballad-y type songs. There are certainly many singers who have more vocal range than Blake does, but their tones are so unpleasant (think nails on chalkboard) that I can’t bear listening to them.

A: Uh, I think it’s the one with that drum beat on it…Man, what song is that? Hmmm….Actually, I think it’s “How Many Words”. It always feels good to play that song live. D-Lish.

A: Well, I’m extremely happy and motivated which is nice. It’s good to know that you have something to do with your life other than just laze around and be depressed. Seattle can do that to me, don’t get me wrong I love Seattle but it can get a little rough in the winters. I LOVE BEING ON THE ROAD!

I do not know what the average sales are for the artists or how much time is needed to sell well, but to me ADD seems to be doing pretty good. I would agree with you that given the amount of airplay that BA receives, time might be a factor to help more in sales in the long term.

One other point, as much as I love BA, I think it might be more appealing, and I am talking about new fans who did not hear Blake before, to specific demographic groups (i.e. males or young adults) and this could be one reason among others why it is slower to catch on the radio. Adding the second single might help to grab attention of new fans from different demongraphic groups to sustain the interest in the album. I personally do not think this album is going to disappear any time soon; it is just too good.

I agree Kasia it is too good to just disappear. To be honest because I have played it sooo much after getting it, I thought I would need a break from it by now. But nope, everytime I turn on the radio and listen to what is playing I always go right back to A.D.D.

Same here Anne. There are very few songs on the radio that I can stand. I do usually give it a try, but I also go right back to ADD.

I am no expert on things musical, and Blake is my first obsession, erm, musical interest to follow. But it does seem to take time to hit the airwaves, as has been echoed before. We need to keep supporting BA and give it time, and then suipport the next single when it hits. Continuity, all that. :-)

Many brilliant albums go without getting credit they deserve. I’m not a psychic so I can’t predict what will happen with ADD in the long run, but the reality is sometimes simply being a great album isn’t enough. Ray LaMontagne for example is probably one of the most underrated current artists and yet there is a large population that’s never heard of him or his amazing music.

We need to keep supporting BA and give it time

It’s been out since October, peeked at 40 and has now dropped to the seventies. I think all hopes of it going anywhere are gone. If the label was still supporting it there would be more obvious signs, particularly a more aggressive push once the bullet plummetted.

Miley Cyrus isn’t a good basis for comparison because she’s been getting Top 40 airplay for quite some time now. She’s currently #21 on CHR/POP and when BA came out I think she was already in the 40’s.

I have never followed a song before, so I have no idea if a song ever gets to a point then drops…and then climbs up again. So just looking at the Mediabase numbers I would have to assume that this song is done. Would like to think there is a chance for it, but thinking not. Blake was known and loved on TV by millions of people, not just tween and under. I think he still needs a chance for airplay. Don’t give up yet, you-all.

If it is March and there is still no word on another single, then yes I would have to agree that it is probably not going to happen. And if the Label is planning on releasing another single then it should be sooner rather than later.

I am not done with BA either.

I called my local station around the time when it was first released and not a single time BA was played. I continued to request it periodically and about 2 weeks ago, I contacted a different DJ on this local station. He promised to play BA on the program and he did. With an exception of 2 days during past 2 weeks, BA did not get enough requests to be in the top 5 most requested songs. The point I am making is there is still interest in the song and people ask for it even though it dropped in the Mediabase. Why it is not played on other programs, I do not know.

I am realistic, this is a drop in a bucket, but I do not see a reason why I should not continue to support it if the program will play it and I love it. Besides, this is what I can do as a fan to support Blake as an artist. When the second single is out, I will support both.

Music is pretty much the only thing I’m good at and enjoy. That sounds a bit dark, perhaps, but I don’t do anything besides music. In fact, I’m in a studio in LA right now working on another album while we have a couple of weeks off. I’m working with my long time friends, Will Moore and Jon Epcar on Will’s project called Pawbox.

Let’s see, Blake’s first single flopped, his sales have slowed down to the point where it’s looking like even getting to gold status will be an uphill battle, TV publicity hasn’t made any bumps, and the label is taking their sweet time releasing a new single. I don’t see why fans shouldn’t voice some concern. This isn’t exactly a time where people who have a realistic view of things are going to be all rainbows and unicorns.

I agree with this statement, but at the same time I am so happy there will be a second single release soon. A great song that will get played on Top 40 radio would do wonders for Blake. He has so many good songs on ADD. People need to listen to the variety. As I said before BA was a bad choice for first single and not a great track to perform live on national TV. All those TV promos did not do anything to elevate his sales.
He needs a smooth softer song like KMN, HMW or H2LH and get a hit. I still believe ADD has a life of his own, the label just needs to keep supporting Blake and make the best decision for him.

The way I am thinking is maybe the next single people will love and if they love it then they will look into the cd. I think Break Anotha is a good song and may surprise us. I always like to give things a positive twist because I dont like negative thoughts. That is just me, I found anything is possibable if you keep a positive attitude. My twin sister is a good example of staying positive. Two years ago she was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer and kidney cancer. Well the doctors felt she wouldnt survive the ovarian cancer but they dont know my twin it wasnt her first battle with cancer and most likely not her last she is alive and shows no signs of cancer right now. They removed the ovarian cancer then a year later they removed the kidney. She stayed positive through out the chemo the surgeries and looked at the bright side of things like being able to retire and enjoy her new home. Sorry this is long but I wanted to explain why I like to stay positive she taught me alot about the power of positive thought and I wanted to share.
