A scarey thought– I was a Junior in HS the year Blake was born. My little brother was in on the skater-boy wave of things, and built a ramp in our backyard in the late 80’s. I could never have guessed it was only the beginning, of things I just would not “get” or understand! LOL. It’s a whole other world out there, people.

Did anybody see the story on CBS Sunday Morning on Crosby, of Crosby, Stills, and Nash? Yeah, that is one of my musical heroes, and from a time that made more sense to me. We saw them in concert many, many times. Time just goes by, somehow.

He hasn’t leaked, but it could be the reason he went to LA, besides tat. Wait and see. Hope so.

No offense to Mr. Lewis or to anyone here, but Blake has said that the 71 tattoo is a private thing between him and his best friend. Even their other friends said they don’t know the true meaning, and that the guys have their own secret language and many things that only they understand. I would hope that would be respected by fans. It’s none of our business.

As much as I am CURIOUS to know what it means too, I’m going to have to agree ^. I know I wouldn’t really want specific jokes I have with my best friends being spread over the internet. Oh absolutely! It’s one of the things I love most about Blake from what I can tell about him…his friends mean the world to him and he’s not shy about expressing that. It’s so nice to see that love.

That’s very true. I certainly don’t want Blake to tell us anything that he doesn’t feel comfortable with sharing. I have seen a lot of fans ask about this too but I don’t think there is anything wrong with curiosity either. I look at it this way, if Blake wants to share that kind of info, he will. :)

Lowest-selling No. 1 ever?

Alicia Keys’ album hit No. 1 this week, but its record sales are ridiculously low.

It is actually the 2nd lowest selling tho:

“Alicia Keys’ As I Am registered the second worst weekly sales tally for a #1 album since SoundScan began monitoring album sales in 1991. Keys’ album sold 60,519 copies last week, just 455 more copies than the all-time bottom-dweller, the Dreamgirls soundtrack, which sold 60,064 copies in its second week on top one year ago.”

They didn’t do a regular countdown. I seen the beginning and they said they were playing all new songs today. So it didn’t really make the countdown, but it’s nice that they played it.

Star, I’m not sure about most of the videos they played. I know they played Timbaland’s song with Nicole Sherzinger (SP?) called Scream, I think. I don’t know about anything else. I turned it after that lol.

I’ve been hoping it could be catching on with the College crowd. That Curry College station outside of Boston, WMLN, plays it every day, as does the University of Akron’s WZIP (odd that one, as I sometimes listened to that station when I lived in OH).

I still think it is time for a second single - it is #74 on Mediabase Top 40 with 119 spins. Like I said before, it could boost BA while it is still getting a little play.

Does anyone know when Elliott’s “Wait for You” was released? I’m just wondering because some of my stations are STILL playing that song, hasn’t it been out at least SEVEN months or something?!??!?! LOL.

Oh, and guess which song I heard on a Top 40 station here - Lupe Fiasco’s “Superstar”! I have NEVER heard Lupe on the Top 40 or HAC stations before, so that’s interesting that he’s getting some mainstream airplay in my neck of the woods. It’s not on the station’s official playlist according to Mediabase, however, so I wonder why the hell they continually ignored my requests to hear Blake when I’d vote online or e-mail the DJ’s. Anyway, it just made me think that they might be receptive to “Know My Name” if it were released as a single if they’d play Lupe himself.

Geffen/Universal has been developing and breaking Matt White for over a year. Compare that to the “instant success” demands of 19/Arista, it gives new meaning to the word “breaking” a new artist.

I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if KMN ended up being the second single, considering it’s so radio-friendly. Not to mention Lupe’s single was even played on Top 40 here and hip hop collaborations seem to be the ‘hot thing’ nowadays.

That’s like saying there’s a “new” Daughtry song, off an album almost a year and a half old. So– how do we know really, what is New? I wonder. and if it IS truly “new” how long does it take to trickle down for mass consumption? Is there truly such a delay always?
