Yay! That is so cool, so Z100 played BA right? I didn’t here it in the interview. I would think so.
Love those Z100 interviews! We do need to be watching the heck out of them, though! If you are in the NYC area, it would be a great idea to email Z100 and express how much you liked the interviews (and put in a request for BA!) On another note, Blake confirms that he is pushing for HMW to be the next single! YAY! So excited about that!

So far Z100 hasn’t played BA before or since the interview because as Lisa pointed out in the previous thread, the audience impressions on Mediabase would have went through the rough. This is why we need to be watching the heck out of those vids.
If anyone has a myspace page, it wouldn’t hurt to post the direct link to these vids and encourage others to repost this as well so people will know the interview exists and will watch the vids and maybe it might make a difference. :)
I heard back from the Yes.com site and they said the person was a fake, pretending to be the Admin.
There was also a printed interview some time ago in which Blake said he was trying to convince the label to release HMW as a 2nd single.
I was sort of glad to see the confirmation of 1000 Miles as the Sting meets Neverending Story, as some of us suspected.

Those Z100 videos are wonderful — he got to talk about a lot of things. *heart* Great promo for the album, but I wonder how many people actually heard the interview?
Maybe, in my ideal world, we will get to hear him sing “Sunday Bloody Sunday” with looping and everything after all.

I wondered that myself especially with it being broadcast during the lunch hour. Some of us have already gone to work posting that interview on MS and some folks are actually paying attention and reposting that. If nothing else, it was great album promo and you could tell the folks there really enjoyed B and how could you not.
Just had a chance to catch up on the last two days of posts. Like the daily post threads - thanks. Z100 Interview - fantastic (so hope they might play a song - do you think TPTB might have negotiated for them to drop the 2nd single? I can only hope!)
Has anyone else noticed that Kent’s myspace says “gonna be out of town for awhile”? Do we have any speculation/knowledge of what’s going on with Blake and ADD over the next few days? I can’t seem to find any hints on any of the guys sites.

Kent has has that on his page for quite sometime. That isn’t new. He put that message up before all the TV and radio promo began. So that message has probably been there about a month and a half. :)

Well the one good thing about that is….that fake admin said our votes weren’t going anywhere. I was depressed to think that I had wasted hours of my life over there voting. I think our votes do influence the stations. Thanks Crystal for finding out the information.
Lots of good stuff in thosse videos. I am curious about the next single releases. Blake kind of mentions the same songs as Papa Lewis mentioned on this board. How Many Words….Whatcha Got to Lose…and She’s making me Lose It. Maybe Blake and Papa are giving us some hints.
I also heard an add for American Idol on the radio yesterday in my car from KIIS LA. They were talking about the Idol show and mentioned Blake and Jordin and in the background they were playing a snippet from Shes Making Me Lose It. I was so excited to hear the snippet, that I missed what they said about Jordin and Blake. Rats!
I don’t know about you guys, but I just love Blake’s speaking voice. It is so soothing and kind of wispy…I don’t know how to describe it.

That’s the show that has a largest audience on Z100, it would have been so much better exposure.
At lunch time not many people tune in, besides Shelly lunch time show is not as popular as the Elvis Duran guys. But whatever, at least he got to be there.

He’s wearing the same clothes he wore on The View, so he had probably just finished taping that. The morning show wouldn’t fit into his shedule.
Perhaps they will play snippets of the interview during one or more of the other radio shows this week? Hopefully, they will include the song!

You’ve been saying for weeks you wanted a Z100 interview - you got one now and you still have to complain, mara? I don’t think you’ll be happy until Blake starts getting the amount of airplay Daughtry is getting. I went through the Taylor fandom with you last year so you should be use to disappoinment by now.
It sucks that Z100 never played his single despite having him on for an interview, but I’ll take what I can get. ;) Glad he got SOME promo that reached more people; even if that lunch-time show doesn’t get the best ratings it’s still NYC so a lot more folks will have heard him than in Boise, Idaho!
It seems like the DJ and other women working at the station were pro-Blake, so who knows why the song gets NO spins at all. I do hope the second single is given a chance at that station, though.
The Britney video of course has the most hits, lol.

I remember Daughtry did a decent cover of “Sunday Bloody Sunday” last year that was on Yahoo Music, but I’d love to hear Blake do that song even MORE because his vocals remind me of Bono’s a bit. It’s too bad U2 refuses to let American Idol use their songs since they seem to let every FOREIGN Idol perform their stuff.
(Oh, and SBS is my most favorite U2 song ever!!).

Is it definite that they did not play Break Anotha??? It seems strange that they would interview Blake and not play it!!!
I finally signed up for an account with Z100. It did not seem to care that I didn’t live in New York. You have to go through several pages. Then you have to edit a couple of things for your profile including a picture/image. I sent a comment to Shelley asking if they were going to play Break Anotha. I got a message saying it would not be posted until it was approved by the user. Hopefully she will approve it and it will show up on Monday. Also added a couple of comments to the videos. They also have to be approved.

No, it hasn’t been played on that station because if it had been, the Mediabase audience impressions would have taken a noticeable hit and it would have been huge!

I would be embarrassed to say how many times I’ve seen that particular vid with the dating question on it. I loved the priceless response he gave to Shelly of 95 when she asked him how old.
In fact, I’ve had trouble keeping the smirk off my face all afternoon! Now why am I not surprised the Britney vid has had the most hits? LOL

I have signed up there as well and the process isn’t too complicated. I have left a couple of vid comments as well and I’m also waiting on mine to be approved. :)
Can I make a suggestion? If you don’t live in the Z100 listening area PLEASE don’t contact them. Years ago I had a friend that worked there and they can tell exactly where you’re from whether it be phone or email , and this was before technology has become so advanced..and they don’t like it. Registering on their site obviously they can’t stop you from doing but when it comes to hitting them with requests or questions from non NJ/NJ areas stuff is usually ignored. I’m also annoyed BA wasn’t played but I’m going to trust (and hope) there’s something else at play here.
I have to nod my head in agreement on this part especially when it comes to phone calls. I say this if for no other reason because I have caller ID on my phone and I would almost bet the farm that Z100 does too and if they do, they will automatically be able to tell when someone is calling in from outside of their listening area. If they get calls that show up as “out of area” or a phone # with a different city and or state then that would be considered as a long distance call and then will give it away right away that you aren’t a regular listener. As modern as technology is today, I guarantee they will have a way of figuring things like this out.
I also agree about not contacting them with emails or phone calls. Watching, enjoying, drooling and leaving comments on the videos, however, seems acceptable to me.
I agree EOTW. If it is put out there on the internet, then it is open for comments from anyone. I joined with my out of state address and it was accepted.
Well yeah, like I said they can’t stop you from signing up on their website, but I’m talking about the emails and phone calls. Yes they do have caller ID but its not basic caller I’D, and even private and/or out of area calls they can see the number.
I think I can now answer the question that has been on the minds of those voting on the yes.com site, including myself, which was do the votes count and where do they go. Well, apparently the votes must be going somewhere because there is a station that is located in Washington, NC which is about 2 1/2 hours from here that the YES site monitors.

They show a series of songs that the station plays and you will see a description that says if you like the song that is playing,
Of course, this all depends on what song is playing at the moment but apparently whatever votes come from the site do go back to this particular station.
I didn’t make this post for purposes of telling folks outside of this station’s listening area to make requests at there because I don’t intend to do that myself. I just wanted to show you that apparently the votes that listeners cast at the YES site and at the toll free YES # for a song are apparently going back to this particular station. This station however has played BA at least once before.

Anyway, I have to agree about not calling outside your area. We have the radio tips under the Help Blake tab. We based them on what has NOT worked in the past for other AI fanbases, so please think about that. :)

No Dani she was alot younger she I believe was around the age of 3 or 4 not sure on that but think it was 4. Yes thank god it turned out ok.
just listened to the interviews…again, Blake is an amazing friend…he’s plugging Chris RIchardson in hopes he gets signed…kudos to him for sharing his good fortune…he said he has another video coming out..Pam or whoever who are so adept of finding out the lastest, please alert us to when it does..it does seem that HMW will be the next.. here’s to his continued success

Ok, now on to the subject at hand. I am just really baffled by this new station that just popped up at the YES site. It’s a station in Tulsa. When I went to look to see what their format was it said classical. I know there was country station in Seattle that has played BA a couple of times, but I have to admit seeing this pop up kind of made me chuckle a little bit. Classical? Huh? LOL

I was looking at the vids again this morning, which are made of awesome, and the numbers look pretty nice for only one day! 187 as a low number, 307 as a higher one for views! Yay!

Sorry about that, but I am not going to get used to disappointment. Blake deserves to be successful and I am hoping the second single takes off for him. What happened to Taylor doesn’t necessarily have to happen to Blake. Just saying.
Blake’s record is pretty good, so I still have faith it will get more reception soon.
