The Mob Law Update

Courtesy of The Mob Law Street Team via myspace:

Starting This Wednesday, THE MOB LAW will be playing every Wednesday night at THE HIGH DIVE in FREMONT!… This week we will welcome home B SHORTY! who will be featured during the show. Music starts at 10. See you there!

If you are in the Seattle area, I highly recommend that you check out this show. Believe me, if I was in the area, I’d totally be there. You’ll be in for some great music from the Mob Law and a special appearance by our own BShorty.

Check out The Mob Law’s new cd “Hold Us Down” here!

The Mob Law - CD Release Party

Where would I be Saturday night if I lived in the greater Seattle area?  Easy. I’d be at Neumo’s celebrating the release of The Mob Law’s first full-length CD, Hold Us Down.  If you’re over 21 and live in the Seattle area, you should definately check out the party.  Doxology, Shim, and Yeke Yeke are also on the bill.  Tickets are only $10 and the doors open at 8pm.

Unfortunately, I will have to content myself with purchasing the CD from iTunes or CD Baby after the release.  To listen to a preview of the new material, check out The Mob Law’s Myspace. They’re streaming three new songs every day until the party, so visit both today and tomorrow.     Feel free to post what you think of the new tunes here.

I know we have some new readers, so be sure to check out our feature on The Mob Law if you missed it. Also, don’t forget to grab a copy of their previously released EP from iTunes or CD Baby.

The Mob Law - An Update

Did you notice in the Disheveled article how psyched Blake was to catch The Mob Law show during his hometown visit? We all know that Blake has great taste in music and last month Team Plaid published its first feature on the Seattle-based band, so be sure to check out the interview if you missed it.

The Mob Law just finished recording a new album, Hold us Down, which features 17 new tracks. They’ll be kicking things off with a CD release party on August 25th at Nuemos in Seattle. Doxology, Shim and Yeke Yeke will be joining them for the celebration. If you live in the Seattle area, this is a show you wont want to miss. Mark your calendars now!

If you can’t make the CD release party, we’ll let you know when and where to purchase the CD online as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, be sure to grab a copy of their independently released EP from iTunes or CD Baby.

Finally, Team Plaid has a some new music features coming soon. Stay tuned!

The Mob Law

Our first feature focuses on The Mob Law, a Seattle-based trio comprised of Danny Pentin (lead vocals, guitar), Caleb Cunningham (drums, emcee, backing vocals), and Jarrod Keith (bass, backing vocals). The band mixes elements of rock, hip-hop, reggae and punk in creating its diverse sound. Contrast the energetic rock/hip-hop vibe of the “I’ll Fly Away” with the melodic “Good Good Girls” and you’ll see what I mean.  Intrigued? You can sample some of their tunes, but their independently released EP is available for purchase on iTunes and at CDBaby. Don’t forget to buy it (I did!).

You can also find some videos of the band on youtube.  This one of “I’ll Fly Away” was created from footage from 4 different shows.

The band was kind enough to grant us an interview via MySpace.  Find out what the guys had to say after the jump.

Updates!

ETA2: Blake will be on Best Week Ever tonight on VH1! The show replays all weekend. I hope someone captures it!  Blake was not on the show.

ETA: Blake will be on The View on June 14, not June 11. Sorry for the confusion.

We promised to feature some of the music that Blake loves and we haven’t forgotten! Coming soon is our first feature of one of Blake’s favorite Seattle-based bands, The Mob Law. Not only will we link to some pretty sweet stuff, the band has agreed to grant us an interview. So stay tuned!

In the meantime, here’s the latest from Kristi of the Blaker Girls. I know, it’s a shame some stuff has to be repeated again and again. *rollseyes* Team Plaid sends a big shout out to Kristi and Andrea for their hard work and for keeping us informed.

hey blakers!!

have you missed me yet? sorry i haven’t been online too much lately. i have been incredibly busy with my ‘real’ job.

blake is doing really well and is just gearing up for tour rehearsal which starts late next week. he’ll be in nyc just before then. he’s really excited for tour and to see all of the contestants again.

some new info and random stuff on blake below:

1. Blake will be on THE VIEW on monday!!!! i’ve heard everyone at the view is SUPER excited to see him and meet him in person; they’re all such big fans. be sure to check it out!

2. US WEEKLY online did an interview with blake the other day. it’s a great one so check it out!

3. blake has the #3 album on ITUNES right now!

4. jordin and blake are NOT dating and are NOT romantically interested in each other. she’s only 17 (illegal!) and have a brother/sister releationship

5. blake’s myspace pages are now back up and running. they were disabled during american idol by fox. you can add him if you want but he is rarely on there. be patient if you request his friendship, leave a comment, or message and don’t hear back right away. he’s a busy guy. you should just add his ‘blake lewis’ page because he will be deleting his bshorty page since it’s too much work to keep up on both pages. www.myspace.com/blakelewis.

and now some old favorites:

7. i DO NOT have any info on backstage passes or meet and greet info. i promise as soon as i know something i’ll pass it along, but for now, i DON’T know anything! :)

8. blake is STRAIGHT.

9. blake is SINGLE.

ok, i think i got everything from my list. hope you’re all doing well and i’ll talk to you soon!
