WE CHOOSE BLAKE NOISE.

Some other miscellaneous stuff…
First of all, a BIG congratulations to you, Team Plaid! In just over a month, you have created over 1000 posts to this site! Let’s keep it up and keep up the support for our favorite AI contestant and the last man standing! Y’all are AWESOME!
Here is the latest in the “Going to Hollywood” video saga that Blake’s friends have going on. These pics are from their last trip to Hollywood to see Blake perform, during the real top 6 week, the week of Idol Gives Back. There are some great pics in this montage. You’ll recognize some of them. :)
Ethan Newberry has posted some pictures from his trip to LA this week on his myspace profile. You can check them out there, but here’s a sample:
Ethan and Blake do a happy dance!

And make serious faces with Chris.

And finally, Blake’s room revealed!

If that’s not enough, check out this UK Edit of Top 20 night where Blake talks about his tattoos and rocks the plaid.
I hate to start a new thread for this stuff but it may be necessary…

Moving on…
TV Guide Behind the Scenes: If the number of audience members’ signs were any indication of who will win, Jordin and Blake have the edge. When Blake spotted an “I Brake for Blake” banner, he showed his appreciation by doing The Robot….Blake laughing hysterically when Ben Stiller name-checked him…
EW.com Behind the Scenes: Of course, by then, the audience had been introduced to the all-dressed-in-white chorus line that was — and remains — the final six. The Idol who got the biggest cheer? Unequivocally, Blake. …Earth, Wind & Fire’s medley from Disney Hall, to which Blake grooved and LaKisha snapped along…Ben Stiller’s bit got everyone laughing, especially Blake and Simon…And with Randy clapping along and the audience on their feet, it was an appropriate closing to an ambitious and very long show. Even Blake looked beat and started yawning toward the end.
Chris Sligh: Blake and I met through Rudy, who I was very close to. Blake and I met the first night of Hollywood, and Rudy, Blake and I were virtually inseperable the rest of the week. When we got to the top 24, Jared Cotter and I were originally roommates, but he couldn’t take my snoring, so he moved out and switched with Blake. It was great being roommates with Blake - he really was the coolest roommate in the world. The thing about Blake is that the way you see him on tv is exactly how he is in real life…he is just smooth. He rarely gets mad, rarely raises his voice…he’s just smooth. What people don’t realize with him is that he was raised with a great work ethic and has had to work hard for everything that has ever happened to him. American Idol isn’t just an overnight success for him - he’s worked his tail off to get where he’s at. I’d love to write with him in the future, but let’s be honest, his style is a little different than mine - it’ll be cool to see what we could come up with for him. Btw, he is a good songwriter, and a good guitar player…he really is a great musician. I can’t wait to hear what his record sounds like. thanks pj!!
People.com Behind the Scenes Tuesday: There was no mistaking who was Blake Lewis’s biggest fan on this night: Ms. [Janice]Dickinson, who screamed the Idol contestant’s name during his performance of “Imagine” – and even gave him a standing ovation.
The Breakfast Update (take this one with a grain of salt):
Blake
What he wore: A Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel T-shirt under a white button down polo shirt. Army green cargo shorts, and a pair of brand new white K-Swiss Tennis shoes, sunglasses propped on his head.
What he ate: Eggs Benedict. Two poached Eggs, asparagus, Fat Free yogurt with fresh blueberries. Bottled Water
Morning Highlight: Phil led the other two guys in a a song from Boys to Men that had the words “and I thank you.” Blake was doing those noises with his mouth and singing, so the kids flocked to him. But the older crowd was focused on Phil. Let’s just say (believe me when I tell you this), that this guy is more of an entertainer off camera then on. I repeat, more of an entertainer off camera than on. He is a riot!
Of Note: One of the speakers in his ipod headphones wasn’t working. The left one.
Ok - I’ll throw in a video for fun! Here is Blake in his friend Ethan Newberry’s music video for the Chuck Norris rap!
Blake’s good friend Ethan Newberry is traveling to LA to visit Blake and enjoy the California sun. He writes in a myspace bulletin that “this week is going to be fuckin’ KILLER so stay tuned for pics, vids, and stories.” Heh. Can he top this video? Look for him in the audience on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Here is a video of the last time his friends (but not Ethan) visited.
Blake is the only Season 6 contestant to make AOL’s sexiest Idols list. He comes in at #5.
The Online Wire, a gambling newswire, asks What if Blake Gets Voted Off Next? Hrmmph! Not if my grubby voting fingers have anything to say about it! Blake’s elimination odds are currently at +800, which means a $100 bet for Blake’s elimination would yeild $800.
The Blake Lewis Online Photo Gallery has a lot of great stuff, including these untagged ones of the “behind the scenes” photo shoot.
Thanks CZ!
Local Seattle papers continue to bring us more insight into our favorite rad AI contestant, Blake Lewis. This piece from The Seattle Times refers to Blake as ”part beatboxing Rahzel, part crooning Elvis Costello” and interviews some of his friends and family.
Wondering if his plaid pants are a gimmick to stand out from the pack? According to his friend Ethan Newberry (featured below), Blake was “weirdly obsessed with these old man golf pants. Sometimes he’d get the material and have the pants made for him.” Newberry also describes Blake as “completely hyper” and says, “He’s always down for anything. You could say, ‘I was thinking about doing … ‘ and before you were even done, he’d say, ‘I’ll be there.’ ”
His childhood friend, Cisco McCarthy, agrees, referring to Blake as a “little ball of energy.” He adds, “He’s always excited about something. If you don’t see him for two days, he’ll take you out to his car and show you his latest track or have you listen to some artist that he’s just found.” The article references a small leather-bound book that Blake would carry with him. According to McCarthy, “it was his right-hand man” where he wrote poetry and lyrics.
Of course, there’s more, including quotes from his middle school choir teacher, his mom, and the founder of the his fan club, the Blaker Girls, which is helping him raise money for Seattle’s Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. Blake definitely has the support of his hometown peeps. Check it out!
Oh, and don’t forget tomorrow, April 11, is Blake Lewis Day. Go Team Plaid!
or so claims his friend who he owes like a million $$$
Want to know more about Blake’s friends? These dudes star in a frequently sold-out Seattle improv show. They have also appeared at the prestigious Chicago Improv Festival, The Del Close Improv Marathon in NYC, and the Toronto Improv Festival. Remember top eight guys night? Blake revealed he loved improv comedy, character acting and debuted his character, Jimmy Walker Blue. No wonder his friends are freakin’ funny. Oh, and Blake also rocked 311 that night.
