I still can’t get over that discotheques in foreign country comment. Like that is a bad thing? What are you talking about Randy?

And corny? It’s Bee Gees and disco! What do you expect?

    And

Actually I just saw Randy at Conan O’Brien yesterday (they air it “a little bit” later here in Finland..). And he was so not funny. How can you be not funny with Conan?

Randy, I don’t like you anymore.

Randy is a tool. That is all. LOL.

    I really dislike Randy now.
He is just so useless with his comments.
So programmed. I think he doesn’t even know what he is talking about. And he is a music producer? Yeah right.

He is like a big robot who follows instructions from TPTB.

Pimp this week, depimp the next… PIMP, DEPIMP. Whatever.
Yo dawg ,sorry but you suck.

I will admit those performances were not very good compared to what we’ve seen Blake do before, but IMO Randy and Simon were way too harsh.

At the same time all these events may help Blake regain motivation.

Simon gave him a wake up call, next week is like dead or alive for him.
He needs a WOW performance to get to the finale, that’s for sure.

I am thinking that maybe Blake was still riding on a high from last week and felt way too confident that he could do no wrong.
    What do you guys think?

Bottom line the Bee Gees theme suck. It wasn’t good for him or for anybody….

Randy schmandy! He is so useless on the show. He’s got a resume that fits the show, plus I guess they need their token black person. (I’m sorry, I know this is rude)
And what is with that comment about European music? He’s making them to be the Geico cavemen. “Music so stupid a European can do it.” What a jerk.

Blake will be fine this week. He’s getting all the votes from people who were voting for the other guys before. I know that I have never voted for a woman on the show. Sorry, but girls don’t make me drool. I am a total sexist :blush_tb:

See you next week, and in the finale, Blake!

Yeah, I hate Randy. I love Paula. Those are two sentences I never thought I would say. This season is like Bizarro American Idol. It’s weird and different from past seasons.

I honestly didn’t have the same reaction to Randy’s beatboxing comment as everyone else seems to. Granted I’m sick of his hyperbole and contradictions, but I thought his inference was pretty clear here. He felt that Blake might be on a high from last week and he (Blake) might be going overboard with the beatboxing/ vocal tricks. He didn’t like the beatboxing in TIWICI and was worried he might start using it with every song from here on out. Randy was saying he doesn’t need to. I personally don’t care, but I can see what he was saying. Of course, I also don’t think any of the judges were de-pimping Blake. They were harsh, but not hard. Nothing like Phil Stacey would have gotten. I firmly believe the judges like him. All of them. A lot. He might not be the favorite of all of them, but he is liked.

Erinn, I get what you’re saying. I agree that they aren’t depimping him, but I still say Randy is a tool for the constant contradictions, etc.

Erin, I agree. I think the comments were harsh, but tamed. Any other guy besides Blake would have been crucified. Simon could have easily said something really horrible and snarky for good TV, but didn’t. I still hate Robot Randy though.

Erinn, ITA. I think we are (almost) forming a hive mind - the Maroon 5 issue notwithstanding. ;)

I just re-listened to them and really like the 2nd one. That’s the mp3 I’ll buy. I’m not sure why Randy & Simon didn’t like it at all other than it was something they hadn’t heard before.

I am a little confused. I was just watching some of the performances on youtube and I thought it was boogie night. Was I wrong? Blake and Lakisha tried to boogie and got blasted. Jordin and Melinda stayed cool and had an easier time with the judges.

What was the theme? I am a little confused.

Also I think Staying Alive was Lakisha’s best performance. She actually looked personable and friendly. I wish she did this earlier. The ballad lovefest has got to go.

Ryan announced it as boogie night, Karen, but it was really songs from the catalog of the Bee Gees.
