Check out the comment Blake left on rickey.org this morning:
Yooooooo…… This is Blake. I usually never got on these things, but want to clear up some things for you all. first. Sanjaya…. I have nothing against this boy, but on the show I was frustrated at his progression. After being on Tour and finding out hes actually a pretty cool kid changed my opinion. Would I have put him on the show, maybe not. Still love the lil dude.
David, David A. and MR. Eze… Now that I have seen all the new season… as of this week. new light has shined. I found out that David Cook did my Boys Doxologys version of Eleanor Rigby and was stoked, but then he gave them no props. Later to find out he did, but the cut it off the show. He and Eze E and my favorites thus far. Just my Alumni Opinion. Kind of rooting for a dude to win it this year. Although Brooke and Carly are holding it down. David A. is as well, when I called him boring it was just out of the fact that I want this kid to do well. He needs to get out of his box. He clearly has mass talent and a killer voice. I just want to see him out of his comfort zone and to get away from his dad for a minute. His dad is nice, I can just see the pressure. Thats all. I’m not a hater. I’m a huge fan of this year. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Its just really SURREAL watching a show you have never seen, that you were on. if anyone of you at anytime want to contact me. I run my myspace and try and check it everyday. http://www.myspace.com/BlakeLewis
I hope you are all well.
Love and happiness - Blake Lewis
I definitely think he wrote that. It’s totally his style!

Nah, that info has been out for a while. Sanjaya talks about it in his story in the Idol Chicken Soup book.
Well, I for one, think Blake is great. I love his music, and think he is extremely gifted. Huge sales don’t always equate talent.
Kudos for the blog too-loved the last part and all the ninja talk. :D
His post at Rickey’s may have been an act of PR persuasion, but it still seemed completely genuine. Much like Blake seems.
I think it’s absolutely awesome that he did this. It’s a really great post, and I think every word in it makes sense. I totally agree that it’s great that we can rationally discuss Blake’s assets and flaws here without blowing an artery and sending out our messages of “ill will” to anyone who dares criticize him.
Why the hell did they cut out DC’s crediting of Doxology? They went through this EXACT SAME situation with Daughtry. You’d think they’d have learned from that.
Complete and total word to this. Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and I don’t even follow Archie and have read from several places that his dad is a real piece of work. Disgusting, and Blake should say whatever he can about it. People should not just shut up and tolerate the maltreatment of children. I really feel sorry for the kid if this is true.
No, I think the fans of other contestants can be pissed off at Blake if they so choose, they certainly have the freedom to express their displeasure in this society. We don’t live in North Korea or some totalitarian regime devoid of basic human rights.
What I DO have a problem with is the Archuleta and Sanjaya fans freaking out at anything that’s NOT glowing praise for their favorite, and quite a few of the Archuleta fans attacking anyone who does NOT worship at the Archie Altar of Cheesy Music. Plus they are acting like hypocrites, having a meltdown only when THEIR guy gets criticized. But many were not too upset when Constantine trashed most of the Season 7 Idols but ass kissed Archuleta.
*Shrug* I remember last summer having fun beating up on Sligh for his foot in mouth disease. People were pretty merciless with him for his subtle and not so subtle jabs at the other AI contestants. Blake isn’t going to get treated any differently when he’s done pretty much the same thing. Hopefully his post at Rickey.org is a sign that he’s trying to smooth things over and right the ship. He won’t win over the haters but if he becomes a little more tactful at least he won’t gain more detractors.
Of course they did it by a more unfair method because they learned it.
Please refer to an opinion of MODS, on that day
19 that is good at deceive an audience.
My having thought, “did not said” is not same “didn’t it”. For them, this is an escape way. and And means for it not to let convince(theoretically) of an audience. to use the arrangement of somebody who is not more famous. They are professionals deceiving spectators. but it’s stupid. (Let’s think about the contestant of this year. They repeat the same thing. A thing, the professional, The talent that was already found.)
Bty, I think the scenario of this week to have done it well for DC. A scenario to rule criticism about INCUBUS/DOX. (I mean, judge/Ryan–this is smart scenario. The audience thinks even if they do not mention it, good for DC)
But I’m not sure, All is only my personal opinion.
and more IMO,
I’m not sure, about song choice. He chose or they gave? (
DOX/INCUBUS). I guess, 19. The theme is decided after a contestant selected, Probably. It’s american TV show, They have some scenarios. can realize that they are going to add to DC, something Daughtry/Blake’ flavor
The point that they think to be stupid. I think that should have stolen arrangement of somebody without more connection if I steal arrangement of somebody better
They are considerably careless.
Anyway,
I think that it is not necessary to worry. He used it for a purpose
Just my opinion
I do not understand why he did the post on rickey, I think he do not appear for an excuse. and he used it to show some point. I guess. I think that he knows what kind of site that site is. Why did he leave that he read in the middle of AI?
finally, it not being smart of an argument to advance only by a guess. I think always, then I post now, but I dislike to post/comment this case
—————————————————-
I think so too.
But didn’t a grown man, Blake, shut a kid, Sanjaya, in a closet last year on tour?
I hated hearing about that, and Blake’s recent interview. He’s got to start behaving professionally or his label won’t look kindly on it.
Nice site, you all seem lovely, I adored his dad’s post, and I’ll leave you to it.
JPN Fan– When I read your post yesterday, I thought maybe I was mis-understanding what you were getting at, calling 19 deceiving. Here in this post above however? There is no such confusion.
Your remarks suggest you are in fact not such a fan of AI, and of the variety that feel it is all a fake a sham and a set-up.You use words like Unfair, deceiving, and infer they are okie-dokie with stealing from other artists. That last thing I think depends on your personal view regarding Cover-songs anyhow.(see Mods comments on the Doxology issue that topic day, which I thought were very good)
The only reason he would have for going to rickey’s and addressing it, was to offer his side in a view that was heating up pretty badly. I don;t think he meant any harm by remarks he said, but now even him being kind enough to address the people’s anger is suspect. I don;t believe he is as calculating as you seem to think.
Hmm, I actually DO think Idol can be deceptive and manipulative. I am not entirely convinced that our votes always count, and it’s possible the show is rigged to some degree. I guess there’s no way to prove it but I have definitely noticed how often they try to influence the viewing audience with various tactics, and I’m not usually buying what they are selling (since I think for myself).
Prime example of shady behavior - Blake getting stuck with that crap “This Is My Now” and NOT being allowed to re-arrange the song. Could Nigel and his cronies have made it any more obvious that Jordin was their Chosen One, as they put Blake at a ridiculous, unfair disadvantage? That garbage just made me a little more jaded when it comes to this show.
I honestly don’t get what the big deal is about David Cook doing cover songs. This show is basically KARAOKE, as they are NOT allowed to perform their OWN MUSIC. Also, why is it that only the rockers (Daughtry, Cook) get bashed for doing covers? SO MANY contestants do cover versions of songs and no one says shit unless it’s a rock singer, it seems. I can’t remember how many times some screaming diva did a Whitney or Celine spin on some song and no one batted an eyelash when they didn’t give credit to the cover in question. Who cares?
ITA. It doesn;t seem fair that people say “well it wasn;t THAT good, it was a cover of (fill in the blank group)”. Heard that phenomenon on the radio yesterday, when the DJ played it, blown away by D Cook only to have a woman call in and wryly say,”Well, it was a COPY of Chris Cornell’s.” The DJ says with disbelief, “Really?? How do you know this?” and she says, “I own the Chris Cornell CD”. It all of a sudden was like not a big deal, the way he performed that. I think that is really unfair.
It is a karaoke show. It is a show of COVERS. I think it’s good to give the artist who rearranged it credit, but honestly, they shouldn;t take away the awesome opinion of a job well done just because it is a cover.IMO. I think D Cook has done a great job the last few weeks, and if that makes the rocker guy a one trick pony? Well so be it. It’s still great.
I know what you mean about TIMN, and not being able to rearrange it– it’s like they were afraid it would give Blake an advantage, god forbid. Personally, I’dve liked to hear what he could have done with it, properly motivated! hah!
The thing that makes me know that they manipulate the voting public into voting certain ways is all last year most of it they had Blake always or almost always in bottom three, when he really wasnt. That was an obvious manipulation. This is a realality show so guess that means you can manipulate realality into what you want. As far as ot fans thats always going to happen I just hate seeing AI using them for their ends and they do. I also want to say to Sanjaya fans and Archies fans you need to realize they are in a business that is rough and tough and they dont need protecting they need the truth to survive and become better in it.
Mmm. I’m sorry. Because my English was poor, did it cause misunderstanding?
The point that I wanted to show was different.
I dislike that this show deceives an audience intentionally simply. Even if it did not say that he arranged it, let an audience misunderstanding intentionally. This show is not about arrangement, but emphasized it in the past. then… why they did that day. It is added value.
(and this show is not about ‘risk taking’, It is added value, too)
Oh, anyway. I think that he can show own something just to sing/performance. If a producer believes it, I think that they always should clarify an original arrangement. If he does not have added value, so be it. It is not necessary. That’s all. just my opinio.
I yet felt nothing in his sing/performance. My evaluation standard always has nothing to do with arrangement/risk taking. and of course, I know that he is a good singer. However, unfortunately I do not yet feel something which is special to him. This is a fact for me. it’s not same, ‘dislike’ and ‘felt nothing’. OK? I’m not DC hater.
(Btw, Even if I am not fan of the show, I had felt something to the person of other, till now. in past season. Of course, Regardless of my liking the person, feel it not reason.)
Oh, anyway, I have to go. because my English sucks it in.
PS-That days Mods comments, It was a paradoxical meaning that referred to it. The method that a show deceived. However, probably this will not go I mean …
—I think that nobody reads, but just post this.
i think most people arnt satisfied with the Sanjaya apolagy
