it’s all good, and charles if it does mean more opportunity to push the album then that’s even better. it sounds like he’s really scrambling to make the release date either way so if one more week gives him a little breathing room then i’m all for it.

That is one good point that I don’t guess any of us considered was about the TV appearance schedules during that 11/27 week. A lot of these talk shows will be doing reruns that week and so from that standpoint, 12/4 is better and plus it gives B an extra week so that he won’t feel quite as rushed as I think most of have already suspected that he was feeling the pressure anyway.

12/4 is too close to Christmas. Also, at that time radio only plays Christmas songs. Bummer.
So let’s hope the single is still released way before the album drops. It’s the best way I think for getting people pumped up about buying his record.

I really hope it all works out for him in the end and his album gets to #1 for first week sales.

I didn’t hear Chris D’s first single here until after the album was released and this is the state where he resides! LOL He gets tons of airplay around here though.

I’m sounding harsh here because frankly I can’t stand Taylor, but Arista probably didn’t even think any of his songs were worth pumping money into. Taylor is the only one who never had a single and he and Blake are in completely different leagues musically and commercially. From what I heard about Taylor he had more problems behind the scenes that went beyond not having a single out.

Because letting Jordin release first is a career killer for Blake? I’m not understanding this. Letting him release one week after her isn’t going to make or break anything careerwise. If you want to talk about screwing someone over go back to season 1 and see how long they let Justin wait to release his album. Justin had to wait two months after Kelly released hers. That’s what you call sacrificing someone.

I honestly can’t argue with this statement. I figured Jordin would release before B anyway since she won the competition. Of course, in years past, this hasn’t always been the case. lol Like I said earlier, Blake seemed relieved about the date shift in his MS bulletin. It could be that he really needed that extra week or maybe not, but since he is relieved, I can’t help but be happy for him. I don’t think a week’s delay will be a career killer for either of them. Now if you start talking about a month or more, then that’s a different story altogether, but that’s not the case here.

I agree with Star. If Blake’s album appeals to the public, then it will do well. The AI fanbases are limited and I am not that concerned. I just want to get my greedy hands on his MUSIC. :)

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is the number of gift cards folks now get for Christmas - as long as there is a December release he should be well positioned to cash in on the Dec 26 gift cards!

I’m bummed to wait another week, too, but it sure sounds like Blake is relieved, and that’s good enough for me. And I really, truly believe that Clive is going to throw the kitchen sink at this record, promotion-wise - I think he sees the hit potential. Rumor has it that the songs are more radio-friendly than some people are expecting, and we’re about due for a tide-turn back toward electro-pop. You just never know, but with a couple of solid singles, I think the sky could be the limit.

Also, Blake needs more time. He is just to involve in the CD’s product. He is looking at the writing, cover, Documentary, and music. He is doing so much of this work. Jordin on the other hand is just singing. I amj sure she could fit this time after the tour.

Blake will be fine. He seems the type who would rather release a good album that represents who he is an artist rather than someone who just craves shallow success.

If you click over to Jordin’s page, they have A.D.D. bundled with her CD there too, so that’s good!

Well, I was just looking at it from the standpoint of when Blake was bundled with M5, he wasn’t showing up on their album page. He’s more visible on Jordin’s page. And since Jordin has a song on the radio already, people going to search for her album will see that his album is available for pre-order too.

Katharine was all over the place promoting her CD. RCA had her playing some major radio statio concerts, advertisments on music industry websites, she got tons of TV shows and magazine covers, they gave her two videos and they even launched a form of promotion where they showed her first video in movie theatres across the country. RCA absolutely promoted her but the public just didn’t take to her.

Daughtry is interesting, because while I liked him on Idol, and i thought his Johnny Cash re-do was PHENOMENAL for-real, I just had no idea what kind of music hed be putting out, and frankly, if it was “my kind”. He was all about Fuel, and I didn’t even know them. the little I heard I was like, Uh, no. His album when it came was a nice surprise, even if some of the harder edges in some of the album tracks were a little too-much for me. I didn’t think I would be buying a Daughtry album, but we sure ended up doing so! He showed me I could and would like what he was offering.

I bet Blake’s scenario is similar, with some of the other fans. They just want to see what a “2080’s electro funk pop album sound” is like, and if it is for them! ;-)

Definitely. This is one of the few seasons where both the runner up and the winner are marketable and can appeal to a hip young mainstream audience.

Her CD is being released in the UK first, in November. I think it will come out here in the US sometime early next year. I think they’ll push her hard too. Notice how they oh so not casually mentioned her in Blake’s record deal press release, heh.

Yes these things take time and Arista might be doing some shifting around now considering the release date change, which is now on their site actually. I would rather wait a little longer until things are set in stone.

B’s working night and day to make sure A.D.D. is A . He didn’t know he was in LV on Tuesday either. Nobody told him, but me and that’s only cause I read it on Team Plaid. Somebody F’d up, huh. So, even if you missed him I know he was walking into a studio at 10pm to put on some final touches…It will all be worth the wait…I’ve been listening to music twice as long as most of you and I can say as I have before, this is going to be BAD, good.

I’ve read alot of your comments about what a, or how, a single affects the album sales and I still haven’t decided if it could ever be bad…I do know that I was around for mamy “45″ releases, which gave you 2 songs and in those days those singles where not always the best, or most popular songs on the album. And of course most albums had 12 to 14 songs max and today we see 16 and sometimes more songs on a CD. Often theres only one or two songs on an album worth listening to. Can you imagine what it will be like with 14, or more, great songs?

Count me in. I personally never understood the obsession with spelling. When we are all Blakes fans. Its his music that counts for me. I am just glad he takes the time to let us know what he is doing. He can do all the typo’s and miss spellings he wants as far as I am concerned. I can decipher typo’s to being a bad proof reader or a lazy one I make many.

That’s great to know. I think some that have followed American Idol for a while tend to worry about 19…many fans refer to them as 19Evil. A lot of that reputation probably comes from fan myth, because certainly none of us know what happens behind the scenes.
