Hey everyone… My album just got pushed back to December 4th. We think it will be a better day for the release and its also taking some pressure off me, for getting this album done. I can’t wait to get it out!!! I have been waiting to make a full length album for the longest time. This album is a mix of all the great pop music that has inspired me since the 80’s. Electro/funk/soul/pop I call it my 2080’s album. One mix from the start to finish, like a great Electronic or Hip-Hop mix tape.
More News:
I just got done making the documentry and shooting the pictures for the album cover. My two good friends, Ethan Newberry and Cisco McArthy have put together a nice 20 minute documentary, that hopefully will be packaged with the album. Its lookin great!Gabrielle Revere shot the cover pictures and they turned out amazing! Also, Courtney James, a brilliant artist is helping me out with the design work for the cover. Everything is coming together smoothly and I couldn’t be more happy with this project.

It’s so good to hear from you again, Big D! Blake’s lyrics *are* lovely, and supporting his career is really an honor for us. Team Plaid is where all of us come together to praise that great kid you raised, and anticipate this album that everyone knows will be amazing. Even though most of us will never know Blake personally, or even meet him, we want nothing but the best for him, both professionally and personally. We appreciate every update he sends, and we love that it’s actually *him* -not some corporate suit- sending them.

I was one of the ones lucky enough to meet Blake, and look him in the eye, and maybe he’ll be so big after this, I won’t ever get to again…but I remember that when I see him in an interview or a picture somewhere. I think that’s the one aspect we all share here, is that Blake is a person not just some face. We appreciate that, and appreciate you as his folks.
To me, Blake is a person out there making music, not just an icon. He knows I’m alive, and that’s enough. I send him positive thought, and wish you all well, no matter how the music cd goes.
(I’m a parent too, and not that far off your age, Dallas. I think your pride in him is beautiful. Seeing you on tv with him, dang it, it still makes me cry!)
I am also one of the lucky ones who got to meet B. I actually got to meet him twice, Once in Indianapolis,IN and then in Huntington, WV. I got a pic with him in indy and an awesome hug from him in Huntington, he wasn’t feeling well so I wasn’t about to flash him with my camera when he has a headache and getting over larengitous(sp). He is the most amazing person I think I’ve ever met. Yes, my boyfriend of 9 years is very jelous of him but whatever haha! What can I say, Blake is everything wrapped in one! He’s sweet, cute, personal, artistic, and not to mention even cocky at times…Its what makes him…him! I hate it when people get mad and act like he owes us something. He is still a person with feelings too! I would love to know the guy on a person level but as I keep saying…being a fan is just fine! Its so crazy, I’ve never been this into a celebrity this much before. I mean, I am a huge Incubus fan but Blake is definately over powering them! He is so unique and amazing…you can’t help but love the guy and his family! When I read negitive things about him I do get quite defensive and its really funny actually! But as the blakergirls have said…us Blakers stick together! Blake is going to make it and he is going to make it big! Lover not a fighter…. I don’t know him, obviously, even if I had the chance to meet him in Toronto… But I can certainly see that he’d be all about the love. It’s obvious in his eyes and in his laid back attitude.
Jenlar, Bully and Christina, you all said it so well. That is exactly how I feel. I am the same age as Dallas and Dinah and I am just crazy about this young man Blake Lewis. I cannot tell you how seeing him on American Idol and watching him grow as an artist and person each week has affected me, in many positive ways! I have followed him online since the May finals. I went into a threeday depression when he didn’t win. Fortunately I found youtube, teamplaid, The Blaker Girls, etc so I am keeping myself well informed and I have no fear that Blake will do wonderfully.
Dallas, I am so happy that you are involved and keeping us up to date. It is wonderful to hear from you as well as Blake. It really makes me feel connected and a part of his success and life. I too will probably never get a change to meet any of you but I still feel a part of the family and it feels GREAT! Thank you!!!
