And credit goes to Blake for making the band so much a part of it. A lot of artists tend to keep the band in the background, but he certainly doesn’t mind and actually seems to enjoy sharing the stage and spotlight with these guys. Which just shows that Blake is a class act, IMO. Which makes me like him even more.

I agree Lori. If it wasn’t for Blake, we wouldn’t have known these guys even existed. It’s not only that we know their names, but we have gotten to know the personalities behind the names too and that’s what makes it all so special. I am glad that Blake is able to share his dream with them. :)

I agree, he is the first “idol” whose band I actually know. But then again B always pimps his friends which I admire.

He has been playing it every day for the last 3 days when I request it. I might be just lucky and this DJ likes Blake’s music or is more flexibile with his playlist.

Kasia - he played it just a couple minutes ago again. Good job!

  5. 105 Kasia Jan 18th, 2008 at 10:18 pm

    Crystal,

Yes, I know. I was just listening to the radio. I am very excited. I keep sending the requests every day. This DJ has a poll from Monday till Thursday to vote and that is what I was doing. I hope there will be more people in my area to do the same. Right after BA was played, Chris Brown was on. It is just my opinion, but BA was really standing out and so full of energy. I really like this song on the radio.

I watch for the Blake. Anybody else is just gravy, IMO.
I’m glad he is happy, sharing the ride with his buddies. That’s nice, for them all. It’s very rare to get to have an experience like they have been given, together.

It’s so amazing for the first time to actually follow someone’s professional music career. I truly love every song on A.D.D. I really enjoy everyone’s comments. If you really listen to the harmonies they are wonderfully blended. We are a strong fan base and we want more, more, more of Blake and the band. I must say I felt a bit of a letdown with the AI auditions this year, I kept looking for Blake. He became such a part of our lives last season and I miss him and his energy and the show seems flat and lack-luster. My personal favorite song is “Surrender”. Masterfully done! What a song writer and what a sexy singer!

    Perhaps BA was much too risky a first single;

I remember Simon telling Blake that one of the reasons he liked Blake was because he took risks, didn’t play it safe. I must admit that is also one of the many reasons I love Blake. Sometimes a risk pays off; sometimes it doesn’t. Only time will tell with BA. But if Blake continues to stay true to himself, I have no doubt he will be around for a very long time.

Rosie, I feel exactly the same. This is my first experience following an artist from the beginning and it is an exhilarating, wonderful experience.

It might be difficult for Arista to choose another single. I like them ALL some more than others but I can’t put one on top of my list yet, so I hope they can choose at least 2 singles. One like H2LH or surrender and another like EOTW or IGU, so at least they put a softy too.

  10. 110 melissa Jan 19th, 2008 at 1:11 am

I would love to see them release HMW or WYG2L or KNM, but I also like Surrender, H2LH and EOTW too.

  11. 111 Nic Jan 19th, 2008 at 3:04 am

It’s interesting to see how many people make reference to his band, and his interactions with his bandmates. He really DOES act more like he’s in a legit band rather than a solo artist in alot of his live performances.

LOVED the Mike and Juliet performance, and loved how there was that audience connection too. I think that’s one thing I wouldn’t mind seeing more of from B…..

Oh, I asked my friend in Norway today if she had an absolute #1 favorite off the CD and her pick was HMW, thought I’d let ya know ;). She also really digs WYG2L now when she wasn’t as keen on it at first. She’s actually pretty picky in general about music so for her to really like 5-6 of Blake’s songs a lot is impressive, LOL.

  12. 112 skipperdjl Jan 19th, 2008 at 4:03 am

I’ll bet you all that the next single is HMW. I love I”m just human, even though it’s not on the album and I think WG2L would be the next best faster song. Although SMMLI is a different princy song that we should be hearing on the radio to. Vanessa in Singapore sent me an IM saying they have been playing atleast 5 different songs and giving away ADD at the station. That’s hot.
Later and have a great weekend. Oh, I love the Ferguson show. The wigs were cool.

In addition, Blake was the station’s artist of the week :D

Yeah! Great performance by A.D.D. Blake is always so happy and chipper when he is on the M&J show. Thanks to Juliet for being such an awesome fangirlie.

Is that a hint Mr. Lewis?

  16. 116 Pam Jan 19th, 2008 at 11:37 am

    Big D,

We love it when you stop by! :) Were you dropping us a hint by chance? :D I loved the wigs too myself. LOL

  17. 117 Isabel Jan 19th, 2008 at 12:19 pm

Juliet is such a big fan of Blake’s. Very nice performance. I’ve made some mp3s of Break Anotha, the live versions. Download whatever you want. Without the visual cues, a few performances really stand out. And Blake is unsurprisingly pitch-perfect every time.

Here’s an interview with Randy, and he mentions Blake, and doing well coming out of the gate! Listen to it all, he gets a couple mentions, both nice and backhanded.

Thanks for the interview, Bully. Randy wants to keep his job on the show.

Ryan Tedder talks about Audio Day Dream in the Houston Chronicle:

Audio Day Dream, Blake Lewis: Tedder was originally asked to produce all of Idol runner-up Lewis’ vibrant debut disc, but wound up handling two-thirds. He co-wrote seven songs, including first single, Break Anotha.

“I got to step outside the box. There were no rules whatsoever. It’s all over the map, but it’s pop. It’s kind of unpredictable,” Tedder said. “I’m really proud of that record, the label’s really proud of it, and Blake’s proud of it. I’m excited for his future.

“I got to be really good friends with him. We hit it off because we were both huge Nikka Costa fans and fans of the first Robin Thicke album. He came on the tour bus and played the Xbox with us. He is a super-funny, high-energy, very honest, sincere person. What you saw on-camera is who he is.”

Ryan was asked to produce the whole album? Now we get an idea of the album’s budget constraints. Both Blake and Ryan are Nikka Costa and Robin Thicke fans - so am I.

Hmm….well, that’s the single we’ve read somewhere that B. is pushing for.

    D. - I also love “I’m Just Human.” It is in a tie with EOTW for my #2 song, with HMW being my #1. I wish there were a way for it to get on radio eventually. I’m guessing it would have to be released as a separate single in order for that to happen?

  19. 119 Bully Jan 19th, 2008 at 6:21 pm

Firstly, thank you Isabel, for the downloads. Why does that always seem miraculous to me? :-) In a good way!

Secondly, Hey BigD! I agree, HMW would be a good choice. That or KMN. Really I don’t care either way, I’m good. We were listening to the record this morning, good and loud I might add,and we were all singing along and I thought,”You know? How great is that??”

I love what you quoted Ryan Tedder as saying, about hanging with Blake, and liking Nikka Costa and Robin Thicke.(I don;t know who the first is, even if I know the latter.) I think it’s terrific how Blake’s mentors/producers ended up liking him *back* too, you know? That makes me feel good, for Blake.

I agree, I think its kinda nice.

HMW as the next single would be music to my ears! (pun intended!) :-)

  22. 122 Bouffe Jan 19th, 2008 at 9:24 pm

Isabel - thank you for the Ryan Tedder tidbit. It’s great that he is so proud of B’s album. Love that they collaborated together.

BigD - thanks for stopping by. My absolute favorite from ADD is “I’m Just Human”, too. But it won’t be release as a single since it’s not on the album… I would have to go with WYG2L, or KMN. Gotta say tho, EotW and 1000miles are strong contenders, too… I feel like EotW could be the next big ballad of the summer (so maybe not releasing it as a second single would be better).

  23. 123 dani Jan 20th, 2008 at 5:46 am

    BigD

I totally hope HMW is the 2nd single i love that song I learned all the words listing to it and It makes me cry and it’s just such a beautiful song!!! IJH I totally love that one, ringtone for my cell phone (brother made it for me) EOTW would be another great single choice another one to make me cry cuz I feel that way about guy (hey it doesn’t matter that I’m just 13)
