That was GREAT!! They love him! Just like all of us!! Thank you so much for posting!!

  2. 2 Joyce Dec 6th, 2007 at 12:21 pm

oh I’m soooo glad someone captured his appearance this morning……super…has a lot of showmanship! he is so charismatic…seeing his live performance should help sell his CD!

  3. 3 Bully Dec 6th, 2007 at 12:35 pm

Okay, that was AMAZING. They sounded great. I am, however, definitely worried about Blake’s voice and bronchitis, after this.
He has so much press still to do, i hope his voice is up to it all.I’m going to be praying a little bit extra for our boy. He sounds so good, i want other people to hear that and be amazed too!

Did you see the Morning Show guy’s face? he was impressed! hah! and the woman kept touching his arm/back. Mmmm. Apparently, she’s been bitten by the mojo voo-doo as well.

  4. 4 Mandy Dec 6th, 2007 at 12:42 pm

awww Blake is still having some sequels of his bronchitis, he needs to rest more his voice! but he sounded great, i love the guitar riff live!

  5. 5 jenlar Dec 6th, 2007 at 12:52 pm

OK… *everyone* knows that we’re all smitten with Blake. Seriously… that was an awesome performance! He *never* disappoints!

    -but-

OMG the band! This band is totally worthy of our Bshorty. Put them together and it’s MAGIC!

  6. 6 Anne Dec 6th, 2007 at 12:53 pm

Look at the guys on the Early Show:) Can I just say again how I love that look on Blake. Blake has alot of energy:) I hope is voice holds up too.

Okay I’m not sure where to put this, plus I have a question someone might be able to answer.

First ADD has moved up to #2 on top selling albums over at itunes, and back to #14 on Amazon. Not only holding steady but moving up.

My question is BA is #36 and #79 on Pop over at itunes, so they don’t combine the two sales? I’m just wondering because if people would buy the single instead of off the album he would have moved up quite a bit. Oh, and How Many Words is sitting at #88.

  7. 7 Kim Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:01 pm

wow he is just so explosive and energetic, i love him with that band!! question: has he ever referred to the band as being named ADD before? did I miss that one? in this interview he said the band was named ADD?? not sure I’ve heard him say that before

  8. 8 maracaibo Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:05 pm

    Thanks for the clip!
I liked his performance, awesome energy between him and the band. I hope all these little appearances help sell his CD.

Is he losing his voice? Oh man, I hope he gets over that bronchitis, he doesn’t sound the same to me as when he was on tour.Maybe he needs to stop jumping so much, he loses his breath and that affects his vocals.

question is BA is #36 and #79 on Pop over at itunes, so they don’t combine the two sales? I’m just wondering because if people would buy the single instead of off the album he would have moved up quite a bit

I am starting to think that people are just not interested in the single anymore but on the whole album. Which is good, that’s more important I guess.
    .
But I am afraid that the single won’t reach hit status anytime soon, he is moving up on mediabase but very slowly, he is still at #48 this morning. At this pace I am not sure it will even be a Top 20 hit.
Oh well, maybe a second single will do better. Do you guys think that BA was the best choice for first single?

  9. 9 jenlar Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:06 pm

I’ve hear other fans say that’s the band’s name, and there’s a picture folder on his myspace called “A.D.D. THE Band!!!” I never put it together, though. Looks like that’s their name!

  10. 10 Bully Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:17 pm

Yep, first time he’s said that! and now the myspace confirms! I tried to get on there this morning to see the new Look, but server was down. I am itching to see it.

Red, eh? I didn’t know he liked that color so much. Maybe he chose red because it’s the color of our Loooove for him, Hmmmmm?? :-)

The Band was really great, Jenlar. I was seriously pleased.

  11. 11 pj Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:18 pm

    Thanks, MJ!

I think “Break Anotha” still has potential to be a hit. :)

  12. 12 Michelle Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:22 pm

Is he losing his voice? Oh man, I hope he gets over that bronchitis, he doesn’t sound the same to me as when he was on tour.Maybe he needs to stop jumping so much, he loses his breath and that affects his vocals.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this! Aw man I hope he had enough time to heal his voice properly after that bronchitis thing…and now he has to do promo performances all month. Last thing we want is permanent damage :( ::knocking on wood!::

He looks GREAT though ;) and the anchors were really having fun with him and the guys.

Hopefully someone was able to cap the part where he did How Many Words at the end of the show?

  13. 13 Sherry Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:24 pm

I am really starting to think they chose the wrong first single. How Many Words is now sitting at #36 on itunes pop while BA sits at #41.
The album sits at #1 pop (#3 overall) on itunes and #14 on amazon.
For comparison, Jordin’s album never got past #15 overall on itunes and #18 on amazon. Maybe this CD will sell better than expected.

  14. 14 Bouffe Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:29 pm

    Thanks for posting this video.

    THAT WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh wow, that performance was great. The band sounds awesome - love Johnny’s hair, but miss Kent’s pig tails. :) Blake looks GREAT and HOT with that outfit on, yum. I absolutely adore how they all fit together, how they all have great chemistry already. It shows they’ve played together before.

Right after the break, when the music picks up agian, oh that was fantastic - it was all in there, the guitar, the electro, the drums, the vocals…. WOW WOW WOW!!!

And can I just say Sawka’s a cutie? Oh yes he is.

And the male interviewer - he LOVED it! A tackle box… *LOL* That was funny!

Oh man this made my day! Can you imagine what those guys must be thinking? They were on the CBS show! AWESOME! I’m so glad Blake could get his friends in his band like that. I admire how loyal he is with his friends, and how far he’ll go to help them…. The band, Ethan, Cisco, they all are getting great exposure because of Blake, and deservingly so.

    YAY!!!!!

  15. 15 r Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:35 pm

Yeah I am super concerned with his voice. There are so many TV and radio shows coming up.

  16. 16 Bouffe Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:36 pm

wow he is just so explosive and energetic, i love him with that band!! question: has he ever referred to the band as being named ADD before? did I miss that one? in this interview he said the band was named ADD?? not sure I’ve heard him say that before

I think he mentioned it at the very fist gig he did with the band - that extreme sport gig in Dallas I think.

  17. 17 Pam Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:39 pm

I think Blake was more so out of breath from running around on that set like he did, but I’m not surprised if he is suffering a little vocal strain as well with all the promo he’s doing. I’m hoping it will hold up too but aside from that, it was an awesome performance and I was really glad to see the hosts seemed to really take interest in Blake.

    Sherry,

I try not to focus so much on the Mediabase # as Anne and some of the others here pointed out here because especially of what was said about Apologize being #1 with over 10K spins. The # of stations playing the song per day is still on the increase and to me that matters just as much if not more than the Mediabase ranking, but that’s just me. I do understand your concern though about the issue with BA concerning i-Tunes.

Speaking of i-Tunes, A.D.D. has moved up 1 to #2 on the top albums chart again! :D

I think “Break Anotha” still has potential to be a hit. :)

I do too PJ. As some have said here already, it looks like slow and steady is the trick for BA. It’s better if it moves at a slow and steady pace than to rise quickly one week and fall fast the next. Don’t forget guys, he still has more radio and TV promo along with the debut of the video and that can help too.

    Nic,

If you read this, there is no denying the Johnny’s hair is pink now! Hee!

  18. 18 Bouffe Dec 6th, 2007 at 1:48 pm

Yeah I am super concerned with his voice. There are so many TV and radio shows coming up.

I think he’ll be fine. He knows how to take care of his voice. :) Besides, he sang last night, and by the look of his eyes, I think the Early Show was taped/recorded/aired/whatever pretty early for our boy……. :) So yeah, it’s probably only because it’s early in the morning! :)

  19. 19 DJ Dec 6th, 2007 at 2:09 pm

I am also concerned about his voice. He may have to bring the bandana back. I was thinking that might have been why he was wearing it all the time. I heard him say on one of the interviews that he had had cists on his vocal cords. Bless his heart.
The album is amazing!! I got two copies in Arizona at a Target on the 4th. I downloaded it on itunes Tuesday night when we returned to our home. Then I of course had to get the Wal-mart one so I could see the extra video. Now I have decided I need to get a few extra copies for Christmas gifts. It is such a fun album!! I Love every single song!! I think he has several hits on it!! On first listen there were only three that I didn’t love. I still liked them though. Now after listening to the album several times I LOVE every song!! The thank you he wrote to everyone is one of the things I love about Blake as much as his music…. He makes it so easy to be a fan!! The TV appearances are GREAT!! They will surely help sell the CD!! This CD will have legs!!

  20. 20 Michelle Dec 6th, 2007 at 4:20 pm

I heard him say on one of the interviews that he had had cists on his vocal cords.

O_O ok, that sucks. maybe ashton can design him some nice scarves or something. it doesn’t look like he’ll have much of a break from singing if he’s gonna start touring in January…maybe it’d be worth it to take a month off and start in February?

  21. 21 Crystal J. Dec 6th, 2007 at 4:49 pm

I agree Shelly, it wouldn’t hurt to start touring in February instead. He said in another interview that the doctors warned him about permanent damage if he kept on singing - that was back during the bronchitis episode.

In another segment on “The Early Show,” he was outside meeting fans and when the camera shot to him, he sang something about how cold it was. He’s wearing a too light coat for the cold, not the quilted jacket. In another outside shot, the interviewer said her kids were playing “Break Anotha” (or his CD?) non-stop. There was also a 5 second blip of them singing WG2L, going into a commercial, and the announcer talked over it.

  22. 22 Brooke Dec 6th, 2007 at 5:14 pm

I hope he’s okay! He sounded horrible, but looked and performed great.

And OMG. KJ is freaking adorable. :wub_tb:

  23. 23 greeneyesxo Dec 6th, 2007 at 5:54 pm

Oh no! He better take care of his voice! He almost sounded like it hurt to sing. He was so out of breath at the end, aw! And that part where his voice cracked and he touched his throat… aw, babe! The performance was OUTSTANDING though. He sure knows how to work a stage! Can’t WAIT for the club tour.

  24. 24 Butet Dec 6th, 2007 at 5:56 pm

I hope our man feels better soon!

  25. 25 dani Dec 6th, 2007 at 5:58 pm

    That was awsome…
Blake still has bronchitis… poor Blake!!!!

  26. 26 robbo Dec 6th, 2007 at 6:44 pm

Yea…great energy, but losing his voice. This won’t sell the song unfortunately.
I don’t think BA was a bad choice for first single. Who knows why it hasn’t clicked yet. I wonder whether people at radio just don’t take Blake seriously. Things could change when the video comes out.
If you look back over the years there have been many hit albums that got a slow start with poor selling first singles. There used to be a time when record companies didn’t give up after one failed single. I remember when 45s were out and sometimes the dj would choose to play the B-side and that became the hit instead. It’s all up to Clive and Co. to not give up on Blake. They expect these Idols to work so hard,y’know? They gotta do their part too, right?

  27. 27 Michelle Dec 6th, 2007 at 6:59 pm

I don’t we should write off BA yet, it just got its first spin on my local Top 40 today (and even that was at 1am :P gotta write the overnight dj and give him props)

They expect these Idols to work so hard,y’know? They gotta do their part too, right?

Depends if they see the idol as a long-term investment, or something to squeeze money out of quick. Thankfully I think Clive sees the first in Blake.

  28. 28 Anne Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:09 pm

Yea…great energy, but losing his voice.

I went back and rewatched the videos from the Jingle Bell Bash and he sounded the same there too while doing BA. I noticed in that song he is moving around sooo much and the song moves so fast I believe that he gets out of breath - so then he ends of pushing his voice. Which then comes out more like yelling then singing. On the other songs he did on the JBB, they are not as fast paced and he is not nearly moving around all over the place. Which the songs sounds really good. You notice with any group RHCP or Greeen Day, the ones that just completely loose themselves to the song, end up sounding the same way. I think Blake just gets into that song, and well…there you go. I just think his voice can’t keep up with all of his moving and energy. That will come in time. Anyway, that’s my thoughts on it.

And I agree with Michelle, I don’t think we should write off BA so quickly. It is a very catch song:)

ETA I actually I have seen RHCP in concert, and they are fun to see live, amazing energy…but good lord I could not understand half of what they were singing:)

  29. 29 Pam Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:17 pm

And I agree with Michelle, I don’t think we should write off BA so quickly. It is a very catch song:)

Absolutely, Anne! I track his plays on the yes site daily and look at the Mediabase site when the updates come out in the afternoon as well as in the morning, and almost everyday now without fail there are more stations playing BA on a daily basis. I really do believe the “push” is working. I know it seems slow now, but at least we are seeing some positive up tick with airplay.

  30. 30 Memphisbelle70 Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:26 pm

    aawww, that’s our boy..sniff sniff

  31. 31 Anne Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:30 pm

How Many Words is now sitting at #36 on itunes pop while BA sits at #41.

Sherry how do you see that?

  32. 32 Nikki Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:50 pm

So I called my local Top 40 on the way home from work and asked the dj if he could play BA and he flat out told me no! I was so taken a back. He told me that they have all of his stuff on their website but that he didn’t get to pick what they play on the air. WTF!

  33. 33 Kilroy Dec 6th, 2007 at 7:59 pm

Anne, who is RHCP? Sorry I’m clueless.

I’ll look forward to finally seeing this late tonight. He did seem to yell BA at Tacoma Dome (I heard Simon in my head saying, To be honest, you were shouting).

Can I say how frustrating it is to be in NYC knowing B’s here and not being able to attend a taping. So the instant vids are amazing - thank gawd for MJ, Sarah, Star and PJ!

  34. 34 Michelle Dec 6th, 2007 at 8:00 pm

Anne, to see the top Pop songs go to Music, then Genre Pop, then click on Top Songs on the right (title of the chart)…it’ll take you to the top 100 chart. then if you click on “artist” it sorts them all into abc order so you can see all of blake’s songs together ;)

They separated the single version of Break Anotha from the album version…it would be charting higher if those were combined!

  35. 35 Laura Dec 6th, 2007 at 8:07 pm

I love it! I just wish that he’d perform early enough that I could see him on some of those shows! Ah well! As long as somebody caps it so that I can watch it later…YAY for The Early Show! I think this kind of promo gig will lead to a sizeable upturn in sales!

His voice did seem effected by the energy of the song. I think perhaps it is just because Blake and the band haven’t been getting much sleep lately and have been going nonstop. Flying cross-country takes a bit’o’sumthin out of ya, not to mention having to perform like Blake and the band!

  36. 36 Anne Dec 6th, 2007 at 8:18 pm

Anne, who is RHCP? Sorry I’m clueless.

    Kilroy,
I’m sorry, Red Hot Chili Peppers:)

Here they are singing live, and this is really tame. When I saw them perform this he was all over the place. Great concert-wild crowd.

Thanks Michelle, but I was wondering how Sherry was seeing How Many Words at #36, on the pop itunes chart it is sitting at #80 something.

  38. 38 Paula Dec 6th, 2007 at 9:06 pm

Wow….he looked great, but….is he sick again? His voice sounds a little rough.

  39. 39 Bully Dec 6th, 2007 at 9:17 pm

Quick bit on the bronchitis thing–
You take a good while coming back from bronchial things. The lining is easily inflamed, and yes, it can be easy to lose your “breath” when that is so. Notice how he had a harder time catching it– the oxygen has a difficult time being processed In. (When Youngest had bronchitis/nearly pneumonia, that was so to the point she was barely conscious. They had a monitor on oxygen levels , attached to her finger.)
As a mom, this is what I noticed, and why I commented on it before. It seems irritated, from all the talking and singing, a bit tight in the chest and throat. He hasn’t “lost it” or anything, but I am just a little concerned, that’s all.
    He’ll get it done.

  40. 40 Michelle Dec 6th, 2007 at 9:37 pm

Thanks Michelle, but I was wondering how Sherry was seeing How Many Words at #36, on the pop itunes chart it is sitting at #80 something.

OH ok :P hm, it shows at 36 for me…but i know itunes can take a while to refresh. try here

  41. 41 maracaibo Dec 6th, 2007 at 9:55 pm

ow….he looked great, but….is he sick again? His voice sounds a little rough.

I know that’s what I thought too. The performance energy was great but his voice was a bit rough and sounded strained.
It’s not the voice I am used to hear from Blake. He sounded so good during the Idol tour.
Now I am worried, I hope he is following doctor’s directions, otherwise performing with a strained voice is not going to promote the album or the single. JMHO.

  42. 42 Paula Dec 6th, 2007 at 10:00 pm

Thanks for the info, Bully. I worry too, even though I’m only a few years older than him (okay, 6 years, so what?). I hate it when he’s sick, so I get alarmed when I notice the slightest thing wrong.

  43. 43 Kate Dec 6th, 2007 at 11:12 pm

Guys, I hate to say it but Blake outshines his band. I think the performance would have been much better if her had a more experienced, tight set behind him. I know they are brothers but I fear they will hold him back. Thoughts?

  44. 44 Paula Dec 6th, 2007 at 11:22 pm

I don’t know about that. Coming from a musical background myself, I thought the band sounded pretty good.

  45. 45 DJ Dec 7th, 2007 at 12:36 am

Blake just left an awesome blog on his myspace …check it out!! :mrgreen_wp:

  46. 46 Nic Dec 7th, 2007 at 4:06 am

    Anne,

I do think some of the voice issues today were from spazzing out and running around. LOL. Some if might have also been from the last bout of bronchitis and overuse. But, another thing that crossed my mind was the GHASTLY HOUR that they had to be performing this song!! Blake doesn’t strike me as much of a ‘morning person’ and maybe he sings better later in the day.

  47. 47 Nic Dec 7th, 2007 at 4:09 am

Oh, Anne, funny you should mention RHCP because I commented in another thread that “Break Anotha” reminds me of them!! That whole weird-ass spastic alternative funky rock vibe, hehe.

Guys, I hate to say it but Blake outshines his band. I think the performance would have been much better if her had a more experienced, tight set behind him. I know they are brothers but I fear they will hold him back. Thoughts?

    Kate,

I didn’t see anything wrong with the band.

  48. 48 Anne Dec 7th, 2007 at 10:09 am

    Kate

I think they all perform well together. They sounded great at the JBB!

  49. 49 Bully Dec 7th, 2007 at 2:15 pm

It takes a LONG time to get over bronchitis and lung issues. He def sounds tight in the chest, and you could hear it when he was catching his breath there. All we can do is send him positive energy, and prayers, you know? He is on the course, and is not gonna pull up for anything.
    *hearts him and his determination*
