I always love to see Blake’s name under the hot pics lists for these stations, but as we know, it really doesn’t mean all that much especially after Z100 had BA on their hot pics list in the beginning. Shoot, even my station had IGU on their hot pics list several weeks ago. lol What’s really important is to see these stations that like the music actually end up playing it if you know what I mean? haha For the most part, the stations that have had him on those lists (when BA was the single) have played it because they did show up on Mediabase. :)

Since this obviously a better single choice than BA was, I’m a little more optimistic this time. I know we don’t what the future holds for this song, but hopefully this coming week we will see a turnaround for the better. :)

I’m wanting this to be a sweet mellow performance like he did last year on Idol when we fell in love with him, and not as spastic, head banging as some of the live performances of BA. I want the PUBLIC to go spaz and make HMW a huge hit.

when Blake peformed this song for the AOL Music sessions, he didn’t spazz in the least (!!). It was much more subdued than “Break Anotha”, so I’m not sure why some of you are worried he’ll jump all over the stage, lol. BA kinda lends itself to the spazzy stage antics, HMW does not.

When I entered the studio, and as I placed my cue cards on the table, the DJ just went like that —> O_O

Yeah, she was shocked. Amazed by how prepared I was, and said something about me being the most prepared person to be on this show ever. She kept motioning to the (studio engineer?) dude to take a look at my cue cards. Haha, I am amused at how surprised she was over this.

To me, that isn’t Blake… instead he’s the smooth moving singing heartthrob we saw doing “I Need to Know’ and “Mack the Knife.” Oh and of course, 311, and Bon Jovi. What appealed first to me, were not the spiky hair and the tats, but the totally and always on-key vocals, that smile, and that ADORABLE face. Dang, the boy is so hot!

Good question.. Mostly an opportunity for a joke - but I had heard new opening titles, new opening song, new everything that goes beyond the normal upscale top-12. So who’s to know where this set goes? Kinda looks like they stole set pieces from Millionaire and the latest Fox Truth show. For that matter, every reality/game show out there is beginning to look like Thunderdome.

Yeah, the crew will need time to swap that, unless its a slide-in part of the stage they can swap.. I cant recall AI having a music act with band during the Top-24 section.

Good to see the band will be part of the set. I really did not want to have them buried in the house band area.

I agree. I think it was very wise to have him on at the beginning. My mother was watching the show and she thought he sounded very polished to her and that he had grown as far as from an artist standpoint.

Roy and I loved it (although we thought he sounded a little hoarse (darn LA) - are we just being hyper-sensitive?).

I thought there were a few hoarse spots too, Marcia. And Sue, I did notice that the sound wasn’t quite right - if he moved the least little distance from the mike, the sound muted. :o( I still loved it though and there were some real bright spots, with the middle to the end being the strongest for me. He looked happy and looked good. I sure liked it when he said it’s always hard to lose four people in one night.
