i love how most of the blog’s grammer is quite off and at the end he says Sorry this Blog is so A.D.D. its just one of those days.
    lOlz :)

OH ANNND i LOVE the little moving picture in the middle =D

Blake just cant give up thats the key… AND nieither can we !

this also made me giggle: I just got back from BTs and we put the UNK in Funk

    hehe

Loved that blog. He just said all the things that were talking about or had concerns about. DJs caring more about AI contestant than his music, uncertainty with the label situation, and poor quality of the music on the radio. I am hoping that with the new publicist (who was it before?), new projects, and a new single (keeping fingers crossed) our boy will see floodlight.

I am anxious to check what he was working on with BT and about the new projects with Kevin.

It is so nice to hear from him. We’re all striving for that light.

Oh my. That blog made me so sad and happy at the same time. He is so open and honest (and funny). I hope he hears good news from the label. I think he would make a wonderful radio DJ! He was so good at all his interviews.

Can I just say how much radio SUCKS! GEESH. I sure hope it gets better soon. I don’t listen to it at all anymore, except for some of my country stations. How is it possible that they spin songs over 10,000 times? Why not spin less times but more songs? Different songs!

Awww Blake. You deserve better than this. I agree Kasia. Hoping for floodlight!

Aw, Blake. I love when he blogs. He’s so honest and lays it all out for us. It’s a bummer reading that he has been in a funk, but I’m happy he’s out of it. I feel so bad for him that there’s such frustration with radio and uncertainty with his label. I’m going to hope and keep my fingers crossed that everything will start looking up. I just want good things to go his way. His music deserves to be heard.

Loved this- ‘All I need is a flashlight, and I’ll do the rest.’ And that picture is too cute. :) I adore him so much!

I really hope Blake’s label is being straight with him about what’s going on with his record. I can’t see them releasing another single or trying to do anything to revive the album at this point. I’d love to be proven wrong, though.

He mentioned Big Machine Media is his new publicist…does that mean he isn’t being managed by 19 anymore? I’m not sure if there’s a difference between a publicist and management.

Nikki–so much word, to ALL of this. I read that last night, and really felt like he was sharing with us(me) in a quiet moment. That’s something I appreciate, alot. It was heartwrenching, because I know he has been struggling along–and I also know what it’s like to struggle in what feels like the Dark.

In my early 20’s I had the feeling I was in a room, looking for the lightswitch, and it was a despairing feeling yes.You feel like if you only had a bit of a flashlight, it could be so much better and quicker resolved! But you have to mush onward towards a destination point, towards that pinpoint of light he perceives. He’ll get there, and I think the next time all this comes around, he will be better prepared to face things on his own terms.

So anyway, if you’ve had that in-the-dark feeling, you certainly understand what he was talking about…and I related very much. I’d hug him if I could, but I guess he’s an intrepid spirit anyhow. He’ll get there.:-) I loved him for sharing, tho. I hope others respect him for that candor.

Star - I think there IS a difference between a publicist and management. If you look at Big Machine’s website you will see they are pretty funky AND represent BT. I’m wondering if Blake may have hired them on his own?? BT seems to get pretty good press so here’s keeping my fingers crossed.

I go both ways on thinking about what the label may do. They do have a lot of money invested in this CD (Ryan and BT didn’t come cheap) and just maybe the management shake up might make them try something again - maybe in Europe?? But then again they may just decide to cut their losses. It may be that even the label hasn’t decided for sure yet. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

nice blog..I do hope his record label supports him and he goes on tour!!!!! and possibly a new single? I’m being positive and hoping

Yes, publicist and management are 2 completely different animals, but they do have to work hand-in-hand to do their best.

As for BMM, I do wish I saw bigger names on that BMM list, but maybe B can be their breakout point. I’m not too impressed with BT’s press…the losing things got some negative press, the kidnapping was totally handled wrong in my mind and how often do we really hear much about him and I’ve been on his fan list for years. He’s from my “neighborhood” and I don’t see much positive stuff going on advertising wise at all.

That said, I’m seeing B as someone who will work very hard at promoting himself if need be….and yes I think need be. He seems ready to pick that back up and not rely on the radio label/management/promotion company to do it on their own now. The radio shows have proved that. Harrisburg was an awesome promotion, which is why I placed the vids out there. The more people who see things like that, the more people will love him.

He is very unique live. My fingers and toes are crossed that TPTB have chosen to showcase that next week on a little show we all like to watch that has a habit of bringing back past contestants. Can you imagine B and loop pedals on there? Amazing, wouldn’t it be!

I think it’s way past time to unveil Papa Was a Rolling Stone.

LOL– you didn’t see his face when I asked him about that song! He seemed all like, “Why??”

Sometimes Blake, old stuff has a certain “appeal”…what can we say??
    heh!

    EOTW,

yes, indeed. I have basically stopped listening to Top 40 altogether, and have been mainly listening to the ROCK stations since there’s more variation in their playlist. I heard Leona’s “Bleeding Love” crap on two stations at the same time this afternoon as usual, and proceeded to change the station right away! :/

You’re right, Leona’s getting 10,800 spins a week now and Jordin’s not far behind with over 9,000. Ridiculous!

It’d be nice if Blake got to release another single, but I have a feeling his label won’t bother if they were NOT willing to promote the first two :(.

I adore this man!! I find it amazing that he is so honest and open with his fans. I do know that feeling of being lost and in the dark. B has been my light for the past 1 1/2 years in some very trying times. He is like a ray of sunshine! Hopefully the old saying “It’s always darkest before the dawn” will be true for Blake.

Apparently, some people don’t know that variety is the spice of life…wait….who the heck doesn’t know that??????

and why are the ten people who don’t know that running the music business??

Nice to hear from him again.

GOOD NEWS! Prices are down on ADD. Amazon has it for 7.99, and tower records has it for 6.99. I realli think we should organize a big event to get in back on the top 200. If he’s in the top 200 theres more of a chance to get him on the radio. It should be called the ADD revolution!!!

I’ve been really disappointed in radio’s response toward HMW and the lack of label promotion of it. I’m sorry, but it’s a truly great song and radio is so stuck on playing the same 3 songs over and over and over again. I like some of the songs on the radio, but I don’t want to hear them 50 billion times. Whatever happens, Blake can take solace in the fact that he made a kick butt album. I just wish it would be given a chance. I know BA got promoted, but if it wasn’t the right single, it wasn’t the right single, and it’s not like he picked it.

That’s exactly what Blake has done for me too. He’s really helped me pull through some very stressful and trying times in my life.
