I was thinking the exact same thing. I also went to Pure Tone Music and there is still nothing there, or on Blake’s myspace. I’m wondering if they got a hold of something and put it out first.

Count me in too. Ken Barnes from Billboard did say this yesterday, don’t count on that 11/20 release for her. He’s not so sure that will stick and don’t count on it for Blake either because as he said, dates can change.

It kind of looks that way and a December release makes sense if Jordin puts hers out by 11/20.

I’m guessing whoever’s album gets finished first will be the one released. Meaning I doubt they would hold Blake’s back to wait for Jordin to finish. So from here it is a just wait and see.

Season six “American Idol” runner-up Blake Lewis has officially signed to 19 Recordings/Arista and is eyeing a late 2007 release for his first album.

As previously reported, Lewis is working with producers such as J.R. Rotem, Ryan “Alias” Tedder and S*A*M and Sluggo on the effort, which is provisionally titled “Audio Daydream (ADD).”

“It’s your favorite ’80s mix tape,” Lewis told Billboard.com last week of the album. “[It’s] very inspired by Michael Jackson, Prince, Erasure, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, the Cure. It’s all over the map, really — very influenced by ’80s hip-hop, old school breaks, whatever.”

“They’re letting me down the album I’ve always wanted to make,” he added. Lewis will be on the road with the American Idols Live tour through Sept. 22.

I couldn’t tell very well from the first one I looked at, but on the second one, yep. That’s exactly what it looks like to me.

There is a really good M5 feature on the 106.1 KissFM site with a few acoustic performances by M5, along with a questionnaire-type interview. My question is: Is M5 having to jazz up their songs a bit since Blake totally showed them up by doing a pair of their songs on AI? I know that all the Blakers out there just can’t listen to TL or SWBL without hearing Blake’s vocals instead of Adam’s now…Oh, well…I just found it interesting, as well as a nice feature!

Well, someone got a little concerned because the 19Entertainment and ? is still there where the label name should be. I told them that they show B’s last login date there as 7/8/2007 and we know that isn’t right. There have been some technical glithces on myspace the last few days as far as friends who are on your list that might have deleted their accounts. I’ve got 2 on my list like that. There is a big red “X” over their names. No one needs to panic because we already know he has a done deal. I think most of us have a feeling now that we may or may not see the 11/20 release date although it would be good for black Friday sales. Of course, we all know by now that these release dates change frequently. Season 5 anyone? hee

Why is everyone freaking out over the 19E ? thing still being there? Obviously if he hasn’t been on My Space it wouldn’t be changed yet. Are people actually still in panic over a deal? The official press release is out and nothing is more official than that, period.

The date thing isn’t just on Blake’s page but on other pages as well, it must be a glitch.

I kind of suspected at first that it was a glitch but someone got a little nervous over and it wasn’t me because we know the deal is done.

We know the deal is done, over and out, and I think some need to take a deep breath and just wait because it will be fixed and like you said, if he hasn’t been on the page, especially since before the signing which it doesn’t look like he has, then it will remain just as it is now till he logs on again. Absolutely nothing for anyone to panic over.

We’re in the money. Bothell’s own Blake Lewis has a record deal connected with the label managed by “Idol” creator and destroyer of young egos, Simon Fuller.

Simon wasn’t among Blake’s biggest fans last season, but seems to have changed his tune. “I know (his fans) are going to love his first album,” Simon said. No doubt Simon is going to love the sales from Blake’s first album.

It’ll just be a little sad if The Man takes over B’s MS…one step further away from us, you know? :)

I think it’s inevitable that Blake will become more removed from his fans as his fame rises. It’s why I always kinda hoped he’d stay indie but that’s selfish of me! Really, I just want him to achieve his dreams and I want to be able to buy his music and to see him in concert - that’s it. He never has been very good about accepting comments and such on his MS page anyway! It’s funny to watch and see the random stuff that he approves! Silly boy! But it would be nice if we could still get the ocassional blog from the man himself signed “love and happiness” and full of “thanks giving”! :) Isn’t he just a little dream? Love him!

Back to Blake’s press release, I really love Clive’s comment about Blake’s collaborators being “knocked out” by him. That tells me he has good chemistry with them, which can only yield positive results! You know, if Blake were to work with Stargate, together they might be able to come up with a new sound. Whereas with Jordin, we get “Irreplaceable 2.0.”

Kat and Chris both did a really good job of staying in touch with blogs through their album cycle and beyond.

Blake Lewis, the amazing performer from Bothel, Washington who America came to love as part of this past season’s American Idol, has signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/Arista Records. Pure Tone’s Pete Ganbarg will A&R Blake’s major label debut, working along side of Arista’s Clive Davis and 19’s Simon Fuller and Iain Pirie. Already on board for Blake’s debut are producers Ryan “Alias” Tedder (Timbaland, Leona Lewis), Jonathan “JR” Rotem (Sean Kingston, Rihanaa “SOS”) and the team of S*A*M & Sluggo (Gym Class Heroes, Boys Like Girls). Oh, and by the way, you know in “coming soon” section where Blake was listed and they had TBA for the label name, well now it has been replaced with 19/Arista as of today.

Rest assured that there is almost no doubt that Blake’s first single will be completely different than “Tatoo” (which is every facet of AWFUL imaginable).

Maybe they could sass it up in a dance remix. eh.

Tattoo was intended to basically please everyone, not make anyone feel strongly enough about it to hate it, and be good background music while you’re driving/working/whatever you do while you’re listening to the radio. Blake’s single on the other hand should be like YGLABN — people will tilt their heads sideways and either love it or hate it. But it should make a definite statement. In fact if it’s NOT a totally risky song I’ll be kind of disappointed!

I agree, in the matter of fact, with B.(as well as Sanji) being one you would either love or hate is one of the reasons I like him, because otherwise he’ll just be forgoten.(like most of the season 6ers)

The couple songs that have gotten airplay of Kat’s? Neither one is the one we favor of the first fast-tracks! We like “OPen-Toes” and dance and sing it around the house. It’s a fun song, but they were so worried about making her a young, sexxy NellieFurtada wanna-be that they completely oversold it, and mis-guessed their target audience.

What I WANTED was more of what Kat did on the show, more ballads, more classics, hell, more operatic stuff with Andrea Bocelli! I despair of ever hearing that from her now. She seems to like her sexxy persona.
