Those are very small taste indeeds. I Got U and Here’s My Hello, seem even more top 40 than Break Another. I really like HMH:)

  2. 2 maracaibo Nov 21st, 2007 at 10:15 am

    I really likedthe clips.
I actually think Here’s My Hello could actually do better than Break Anotha. But what do I know? I really like that one too.
Sounds like a HIT to me.

  3. 3 Lisa Nov 21st, 2007 at 10:21 am

I don’t mind I Got U but it’s my least favorite of the clips.

I’ll just put this here - but he’s on the digital chart this week at #97 and sold 10,824.

  4. 4 Pam Nov 21st, 2007 at 10:25 am

Excluding BA, I am in love with “Here’s My Hello” and I even love “I Got U”. Not too crazy about WYGTL, but it was all just 30-second samples and so of course you can’t judge an entire album by just those. :wink_wp:

  5. 5 Bully Nov 21st, 2007 at 10:43 am

First off, THANK YOU to t. for bringing us this gem! I dunno how she always does it, but she rocks. For reals.

I was surprised at how the layered sound continued in all the tracks. I know I’ll be diverted when I hear the album, but with the funky electro sound, the stripped-down crooning thing couldn’t be further away. I regret that, almost a mourning for the sound of his voice. The velvetty, where is it? It’s in amongst the folds of the new-old sound, and I hope in some of the other tracks it’s more to the fore. The relentless “beat” doesn’t sell me, his voice does.

WGTL I think will sound great on the radio. Here’s My Hello–HMH, heh– maybe that’s the song with the Neverending Story vibe to it, eh? :-)

  6. 6 Vinny T. Nov 21st, 2007 at 10:49 am

Hey Bully - you’re in luck! I just got a sneak peek listen to the whole album ;) and…

…there are at least 2-3 songs that fit the stripped down crooning thing you’re looking for. One’s called “Without You” (which feels like a cross between Keane and Coldplay: awesome), another is “End Of The World.” You will not be disappointed…

That’s awesome Vinny! That sounds very encouraging! Thanks!

I know its only 30 second clips(and thanks for posting)…but the new ones will have to grow on me. I LOVE BA…no question there. HMH definitely sounds like Erasure but I’m not crazy about IGU(And he left off She Loves the Way and Jealousy?). WYGTL sounds ridiculous but I’ll have to hear the whole thing really.
I’m glad to hear there are more songs that showcase his vocals cause the songs featured in the clips(other than BA)don’t show off his voice to its best advantage.
I’m feeling a little nervous now, but I’ll try to have faith.

  9. 9 Anne Nov 21st, 2007 at 11:22 am

Okay, went back and listened, and then listened some more…As far as BA goes, if I had to judge that single based on that little snip, I wouldn’t have thought much. After hearing the whole song, I love it. HMH screams radio, and IGU seems like something the teens will eat up with a spoon. WYGTL, I couldn’t tell you one way or the other how I feel about that song based on that little snip.

I’m very excited about what Vinny had to say about 2-3 of the songs having that stripped down sound. I’m also so very excited to hear KMN. HMH does have that Erasure vibe, while IGU tends to lean towards *bite my tongue here* boy band vibe. I really think his younger fans from AI well heart these two songs. The younger fans will connect more with these two than BA. JMHO based on these tiny little sound bites. With that being said BA is more the sytle I enjoy, but HMH is growing on me.

I’m feeling a little nervous now, but I’ll try to have faith.

Way too many other songs to hear before I start to get nervous:)

  10. 10 Crystal Nov 21st, 2007 at 12:49 pm

Anne - you seem to sum it up well. Hard to judge anything based on snippets. With that being said….I do say HMH is still sounding awfully good. IGU was also my least favorite - seemed really very busy in the background, but again, maybe it was just this 30 second clip. WG2L - seems like there was going to be some straight up singing after that clip - that one is very interesting and I think will be fun. I hope so.

And thanks so much Vinny for the news about 2-3 velvety songs - I’m captivated by that sound to his voice, like Bully and others. Glad to hear we get some of that.

    T. - thanks for finding these and posting! Not long!

  11. 11 ld Nov 21st, 2007 at 1:08 pm

I can’t get those tiny clips to play. From my experience I don’t think you get a very good idea about how a song really sounds until you hear the entire thing. I have a hard time with the little “clip” you get to hear on I-Tunes. Personally, when I heard the beginning of BA I didn’t care for it (not my taste with the sirens and all) until I hear the entire song. Now I love it! Just think, in less than 2 weeks we’ll get to hear it all!

  12. 12 Crystal Nov 21st, 2007 at 1:11 pm

ld - I couldn’t get them to play either. Had to go thru and download the free Real Player, even though I thought it was already on my computer.

Yes, it’s all difficult to say from such short clips.

  13. 13 Pam Nov 21st, 2007 at 1:13 pm

That’s strange, I was able to get them all to play but I agree, you can’t judge an entire song on just 30 seconds worth.

  14. 14 Bully Nov 21st, 2007 at 1:40 pm

VinnyT– I LOVE YOU. *hugs the thought of expectation*

Listen, I already have one album on pre-order, and I’ll prolly get one at Walmart the Day-Of because, well– just because. No matter how the album sound to my ears, I’m supporting him and his creative freedom. It’s just….the velvetty! I want.

I will say, that I like the clips more every time I hear them. WYGTL I like alot, and I can reeeeally see him singing it in a duet or something with ChrisRich. That will be great, live. My Teenage girls like all the clips a-lot, first listen.

    Thanks Crystal, for the solidarity.:-)

  15. 15 Anne Nov 21st, 2007 at 1:48 pm

I will say, that I like the clips more every time I hear them

Me too Bully. I swear that IGU is starting to grow on my like a bad habit. WYGTL I like the beat, still need to hear the whole song.

  16. 16 Bully Nov 21st, 2007 at 1:57 pm

    *Hugs Anne*
    –a bad habit! heh!

  17. 17 Pam Nov 21st, 2007 at 1:58 pm

I’ve just listened to all of them a second time, so here are my observations.

HMH-My favorite hands down even more than BA although I still adore BA.

IGU-I agree that the kids will eat that one up with a spoon. I like that one a little bit more hearing it the 2nd time.

WYGTL-I like a little bit more than the first time, but I need to hear the entire song obviously. :wink_wp:

  18. 18 Michelle Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:19 pm

Dude, where are my BRIDGES?! (lol those are always my favorite parts of B’s songs) From what we could hear, I think I like HMH best, then IGU, then? WYG2L (not enough of the song there to really judge, though I want it to do well because I HEART CHRIS :D)

Vinny thank you for the info! I was a little worried that there wouldn’t be any slow songs cause usu they save that for the end track and IGU has that slot.

  19. 19 jenlar Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:35 pm

*Please* let this be on the album! BT just posted a bulletin about a blog on his personal page and said that there was a present. Haven’t watched yet, but it’s Blake doing SLTW!!! http://www.neither-field.com/clients/bt-blake/media/she_loves_the_way_lo_res_web_version.mov

I’m working on grabbing it now :D:D:D

  20. 20 Butet Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:41 pm

Vinny T, thank you for the information.

HMH, is wow, I already LOVE it, and I haven’t even heard all of it.
IGU, I like, but to LOVE it, which I know I will, I need to hear the entire song.
WUG2L, I really really like it, I just need to hear the entire song to fall in LOVE with it.

And thanks T. for the link!

  21. 21 jenlar Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:42 pm

    Oh. My. Gosh.

That is officially the most wonderfully trippy thing I’ve ever seen! Please be on the album in some form or fashion!!!!!

  22. 22 dani Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:48 pm

my computer won’t let me heare the previews…

  23. 23 Nic Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:55 pm

WGTL I think will sound great on the radio. Here’s My Hello–HMH, heh– maybe that’s the song with the Neverending Story vibe to it, eh? :-)

    Bully,

I had said the same thing on TWOP before I even heard this studio clip, just based on the Dallas concert footage. HMH reminded me of his description of Police Meets Neverending Story. No one ever responded to my comment, though! LOL

    Vinny,

glad to hear B’s got a few swoony ballads on the CD, because sometimes we just want to hear his pretty voice without all the added enhancements. The Keane-Coldplay song sounds like something I’ll instantly love.

  24. 24 Anne Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:56 pm

jenlar thanks so much for posting that. It was without a doubt wonderfully trippy!!! It must be on the album, it just has to be!!!

  25. 25 jenlar Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:58 pm

It’s at least gotta be a bonus track. I can’t believe that they would spend so much time on something that wasn’t gonna be used! Unless BT really did mean for it to be a ThanksGiving present for his friends ;)

  26. 26 dani Nov 21st, 2007 at 3:05 pm

yay now it works!!! iloved them all my fave was Whatch got to lose then the hello one, ba and then I Got you there so cool I can’t wait for the CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. 33 Bully Nov 21st, 2007 at 5:18 pm

I said it Someplace Else, but I’ll say it again–
Thank you Michelle! ILY girly! YouTube is so much easier for us DSL-impaired. After 1R gets done downloading from iTunes(if ever that is…) I will be all OVER the delicious SLTW action!

I love BT. I want him and Blake to collab on a vision-album. Seriously. Those two would be a pairing made in musical heaven.

  34. 34 Michelle Nov 21st, 2007 at 5:38 pm

Guys, I just got one of Johnny Nails’ email updates. It looks like we will be seeing the AOL sessions very soon! *SQUEE*!

Thank you all so much for sending me so many lovely emails. I can’t
tell you how much it helps to make me feel
    sparkly….sparkely….sparklee…..spaaaarkleeee…..SPARK!!!!! Go
ahead, say that a few times out
loud…….waiting…..waiting…….you do it? Great. Moving on.

AOL sessions were succesfully rocked. Funny thing playing in front of
ten cameras, attempting to make it really tight, while using new
in-ear monitors for the first time and trying to look cool.
Side note, in-ear monitors are really cool but they take away the live
feel of being in a band because it’s literally all in your head. Plus
getting them molded is not fun at all. They put a putty gun in your
ear and a piece of foam in your mouth to hold it open, simulating the
singing position. It’s really isolating and bizzare. Oh, and you
    drool for like 5 minutes.

I have no idea what I’m rambling about anymore.
AOL will be aired soon and there seem to be more and more Youtube
videos that you can see candid little ditties. I’ll get some good
links for ya soon from the last few weeks. Check out MTV the making
of the “Break Anotha” video at mtv.com….Super

Happy T-Day to you all. THANK YOU again for all the love.
We will back at it next week starting in New York, so await the
stories to come. I’m going back to bed.
    Kisses
    Johnny

  37. 37 Anne Nov 21st, 2007 at 6:00 pm

Thanks for posting that Pam. Can not wait to see this!!!

  38. 38 Pam Nov 21st, 2007 at 6:01 pm

I can’t wait either Anne! Now I’m so excited! :jittery_tb:

  39. 39 music4me Nov 21st, 2007 at 8:28 pm

The clips show a lot of variety. I love Here’s My Hello. I Got U is ????? and not something I would expect to hear. That doesn’t mean I won’t listen to it, though! Break Anotha and What’cha Got To Lose have so much going on in them, even in the short clips.

The SLTW video is just wonderful. Maybe, maybe, maybe it will make it on the CD as a bonus track. (Notice the lyrics have changed again!) Thanks for posting it.

  40. 40 maracaibo Nov 21st, 2007 at 10:30 pm

Here’s My Hello seems to be a fan favorite. Everybody that has listened to this song loves it.
IMO is really really good. Very mainstream sounds like a big hit to me.
I hope they choose it as the second single.

  41. 41 Nic Nov 22nd, 2007 at 1:40 am

I love “Here’s My Hello”!! I am really dying to hear if that’s his Police Meets Neverending Story tune ;).

So the swoony ballads we’ve not heard yet might be considered for a second single?????

  42. 42 dani Nov 22nd, 2007 at 10:41 am

dude Ilove all of them I got u is just my least fave but out of the others they tie!!!

  43. 43 Bouffe Nov 22nd, 2007 at 2:25 pm

Love the clips - the album will KICK ASS!!!!!!! Kick ass.

The SLTW rework is eurtalkfsdj pfjerjfsdjfpoaew[00we4 irtdfnmklads f!!!!! Damn I love that song.

I am in Blake overload and loving every freaking minute of it!!!

  44. 44 Kim Nov 22nd, 2007 at 5:46 pm

OMG i am completely in love with the SLTW vid…just when i thought i couldn’t love him or that fantastically sexy song any more…
